I remember when the Helikopter 4's could be seen flying around in the skys of Sweden. A thing of beauty. They must have saved hundreds if not thousands of people at sea during the decades, and they used to put out forest fires with a greater lifting capacity than any chopper currently in service. Such a shame to sell them off.
Impressive helicopter. My late Uncle would have enjoyed this film.he was a helicopter instructor. And owned his own helicopter. It was the one with the bubble on the front like they flew on M*A*S*H
Sweden used the 107 for anti submarine surveillance for the marine and as a rescue helicopter for the air force. Later replaced with the super puma helicopters
HMT-301 (1988) & HMM-164 (1988-89) Tustin is now an "academic and technology" campus, meanwhile El Toro has become "The Great Park." Squadron hangars for 161 and 164 are still there among others.
I was a mechanic on a kv 107 helicopter logging in 1995 it was built in 1962 and had 40,000 hours of flight time!!
Great bird! Phrogs Phorever!
An instructor of mine in college flew these in Vietnam and loved them. He said there was nothing they couldn't do.

What an incredible machine, I wonder if the current helicopter builders do this kinda development and testing, when they build a new machine.
Salt water floating? How's corrosion control on this A/C?
