I have am absolutely furious that our Glorious Narrator has apparently been cancelled, gob smacked and utterly flummoxed, it’s like removing coffee or wine from my life, he has become fundamental to my morning routine and he needs to be brought back immediately…everyone needs to complain
Halloween is coming. Is Halloween observed in the UK? Have you considered reading "The Monkey's Paw" or at Christmas time "A Christmas Carol?" It's such a wonderful thing to have you read to us, although I'm sure your time is limited. Thank you!
I love listening to you read to us. You said in the livestream on Saturday to leave a comment including a book we wish for you to read.... Great Expectations was one of my favorite Middle school books. Would love to hear you read parts of it. 🥰❤ I also loved a childhood story called The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I remember crying when they cut his mane and killed him. The Hobbit was another child hood story. Either of those three would be perfect to hear you read them, or all three? 😆🙃❤🥰
@Rebecca - Great choices! I second The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. CS Lewis' Narnia was definitely a place that transported me away as a child. And The Hobbit, another childhood favourite.
@@1WhoCares Thanks, I still enjoys stories like those wonderful books. The Hobbit was such a part of the enjoyment side of my childhood, where I escaped and let my imagination run free. I love a good book. What other books would you like HG to read?
@@Chesleigh1970 Yes, those stories certainly were a source of escape and imagination. And they have stood the test of time - my son enjoys the Narnia stories & The Hobbit. What books would I like HG to read? Well, I have partly answered that in conversations with Lilith here...but if I were to be completely selfish and greedy, I would want him to read The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - or The Fionavar Tapestry (both series were ones that kept me up at night when I was much younger - sometimes reading through a whole entire book of the series in one sitting, because I had to know what happens and I was so engrossed in the characters...I would kick myself in the morning.) But both of those are long - especially the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (but then the reading would go on forever 😁) Other than those I think it would be very satisfying to hear HG read something by Roald Dahl. I am not sure which book though...maybe the BFG? Because it would be great hearing all those creative words read in his voice....or, I know HG has said, at different times, that he likes Matilda or Fantastic Mr. Fox - so maybe one of those. My personal favourites, that I read to my son, are The Witches and Danny, The Champion of the World. My son says his favourite is James and the Giant Peach. 🍑 So, any of those Dahl books would be fabulous. Rebecca - I should stop now, haha - that's probably enough requests from me at this point!
@@1WhoCares I get into a good book and I'll read it until it's done, I don't eat, go to the bathroom, sleep, nothing while I'm engrossed in a good read. I devour it and it's my only source of nourishment for the day and evening. I usually read mystery novels because my desire to know is so strong, I must find something to solve, something to take a part and analyze. My mind has to have something to overthink about. 😆 I enjoy horror too. Stephen King isn't a favorite because I find his book boring to read, too much nonsense between relevant parts of the book, though his ideas are great, he just goes on and on about describing things that aren't important to the story. My opinion, nothing more.
@@Chesleigh1970 I hear you on the overthinking!!! I also enjoy some horror, but not too much - and also *not* Stephen King. One of my favourite horror writers is Fran Friel...oh my, Rebecca - that just triggered another request - if HG ever does another Halloween collection: Under The Dryer , by Fran Friel. Oooh, it's a short horror story. Okay, stopping now!
H.G, would you consider reading Porphyria's Lover by Robert Browning for us? It is a favourite of mine; and I think that your rich velvety voice would really do it justice. Thank you
Beautifully read and beautiful music. Thank you, HG. You make the story come alive. The music is reminiscent of medieval themes. Is the main string sound from a form of guitar or some other kind of instrument?
Hello, HG, I'm delighted by this second channel. I think you'd do a beautiful job of reading Ecclesiasticus 43:11-26 "Look at the rainbow and praise its Maker; it shines with a supreme beauty, rounding the sky with its gleaming arc, a bow bent by the hands of the Most High. His command speeds the snow storm and sends the swift lightning to execute his sentence. To that end the storehouses are opened, and the clouds fly out like birds. By his mighty power the clouds are piled up and the hailstones broken small. The crash of his thunder makes the earth writhe, and, when he appears, an earthquake shakes the hills. At his will the south wind blows, the squall from the north and the hurricane. "He scatters the snow-flakes like birds alighting; they settle like a swarm of locusts. The eye is dazzled by their beautiful whiteness, and as they fall the mind is entranced. He spreads frost on the earth like salt, and icicles form like pointed stakes. A cold blast from the north, and ice grows hard on the water, settling on every pool, as though the water were putting on a breastplate. He consumes the hills, scorches the wilderness, and withers the grass like fire. "Cloudy weather quickly puts all to rights, and dew brings welcome relief after heat. By the power of his thought he tamed the deep and planted it with islands. Those who sail the sea tell stories of its dangers, which astonish all who hear them; in it are strange and wonderful creatures, all kinds of living things and huge sea-monsters. By his own action he achieves his end, and by his word all things are held together." Timestamp 32:32 ua-cam.com/video/peaot0NMBzk/v-deo.html Thank you!
H.G. I just heard your other chanel is closed. Are you going to continue here now, or is there another new Chanel of yours? I think you should open a channel on Telegram because there is no censorship there. You could then only make announcements here on UA-cam when there are new videos of you there.
HG, is there a way that we can help with getting your other channel back up? There’s a lot of discussion in the comments on other channels with people directing others here or to your website, so if there’s anything we can do please post a video here letting us know and the message will get shared. I’m sorry this happened. I have no doubt you’ll sort it out, but I’m sorry you have to deal with it.
