- This is my 08 Softail Deluxe with the Samson 39inch fishtails, promised a video of the sound on these a while back and just now got to it, hope you enjoy.
Thinking of goin 42s myself love the look on this!!!
Beautiful. Happy 4ya.
Went with the exact setup now I’m in a waiting game 😭😭😭
Sounds kickass!!!
beautiful bike , you got to get the White Walls brother
she’s no longer mine, i sold it and got a replacement, will be making a video of the new bike soon..
Beautiful
thank you
Looks and sounds great, I see a lot of hate for the torque cones but for around $30 I can’t see the downside, even if they don’t help, they’re not gonna hurt, did you put them in the head pipe on the engine end or at the slip on end? I thought they went on the back side but I saw a guy on here put them on the front side 🤷♂️
you put them in the head pipe, just be sure to take out the baffles are the END of the fishtail if you’re going with torque cones
Look great . How's the decel popping and backfire?
the popping was pretty awesome man, i loved it, i don’t have this bike anymore but i absolutely loved it when i had it
You need White walls so your color can pop
yep, they were supposed to be white walls but my dealer messed up and i didn’t want to wait an additional 3 months for my wheels to be put on
@@seabass_m looks good with the black tires. different. everyone running white walls
@@ThePollo1981 i appreciate it
Did you tune your bike after you change the Exhuast or did you keep
It stock
i didn’t tune the softail after i put the pipes on, i never got to changing the air filter so i didn’t feel the need to
nice bike.. what brand is your phone mount?
it is the harley brand, handlebar phone mount
do the torque cones give it that tuff sound on deceleration? I'm wanting that sound and can't figure it out. Already took baffles out and didn't work.
so the torque cones give you the back pressure that you would be missing if you took the baffles out and ran the bike with out the cones, come people say they don’t work and others say they do, i find that it definitely helps with the torque of the bike if you’re removing the baffles, i don’t think it does much for the sound but that’s why i removed the baffles, also tuning it can help bring out the sound much better
The tough decel sound comes from a carburetor bike.
Looks good and sounds good, but you really don't need torque cones for long fishtail exhaust, the nature of the exhaust shape and being long creates plenty of the reverberating back pressure. The torque cones were really designed for shorty drag pipes on street Harley Davidsons. Because the shorty pipes are so short and no change in diameter in the pipe.
i heard both sides and decided to go with them, i appreciate the extra information, i got another set on my roadking
You don’t know jack💩 about fluid dynamics, at least on planet earth!!! Ported heads and bigger cams increase airflow thus power! Guess what backpressure does....decreases flow thus power......
Back pressure increases scavenging so the engine runs better. You put your finger on the end of a running garden hose and it sprays harder because you increased pressure
@@ALEXdaG is that your version of fluid dynamics?!? 🤣🤣🤣. I needed a good laugh! You are spewing stupid 💩 because you don’t even know what back pressure is! Let me help you by modifying your ignorant example, because your thumb may not be strong enough to lower flow rate. Take your open ended water hose and turn it on high, get a timer on your iPhone and see how long it takes to fill a 5 gallon bucket. Stick an orifice in the end of the water hose and repeat bucket fill and check time. The open ended hose filled the bucket quicker because it has a higher flow rate! The orifice will shoot water further, but has lower flow rate! Is this simple enough for you or are you a hard head?!? Now on with the lesson....when you port your heads and install a bigger throttle body you are slowing the air velocity but increasing air flowrate which increases power assuming you add the proper amount of extra fuel. If you decrease flow rate in the exhaust system you are decreasing air flow rate through the entire system....so why bother adding ported heads and bigger throttle body, it would be a waste?!? I am explaining in simple terms so you can follow along because I can lay it out in engineering terminology because that’s what I am. Back pressure doesn’t make more power like shadetree hacks spew incessantly on the internet, it’s called “pressure transient”....the timing of the low pressure sound wave as it shoots back up the exhaust system to the exhaust valve and reaches there preferably at cam overlap when both valves are open at the same time, to initiate a fresh charge of air/fuel into the cylinder. If you changed you exhaust and made more power it’s due to this, not back pressure!!! Memorize this and learn it and you will be the new smart guy in your circle! The phrase of the day, PRESSURE TRANSIENT‼️.
Please tell me what the torque cones did for you.
Buddie of mine has a fatboy with your set up and NO CONES and he doesnt believe me that they help. So please 🙏 tell me what they do for you so i can show him.
Nice ass softail brotha
yeah man, so torque cones are to help push out those gasses and fumes from your head allll the way out when using pipes like fishtails without baffles. a pipe without baffles will cause less torque because there’s no back pressure, so if you have no baffles in a pipe such as the fishtails, you should definitely drop in torque cones to give you that torque and back pressure which is good for an engine like the twin cams. if you you’re running baffles, there’s no need for torque cones. there’s only one engine that wouldn’t need torque cones if you went without baffles and that is the shovel head because that has a hemi head unlike the other engines.
I said god dam!!!!
What kind of license plate bracket do you have?
i believe it’s called a curved lay down license plate, i don’t have the bike anymore but i believe that is what it’s called!
@@seabass_m thank you
What's the helmet brand?
bikerhelmets.com it’s the german style
What bars are they?
these are 18” Carlini Gangster Ape Hangers
I prefer the older Sampsons that used 1.3/4 fishtails.. the sound was snappy and raspy vs the new deeper tone. Best example ua-cam.com/video/-X2l8KWv9_E/v-deo.html
in real life they have a more raspy tone to them but i see what you mean, either way i love them
I’m deff a fan of the white walls but this bike proves you can have an absolute killer cholo without them, it’s a nice touch but your color scheme and chrome is an awesome touch
thank you! i wish i still had this bike, i loved it but i upgraded to a roadking and it’s much more comfortable and it’s ironic that it’s the same color as the softail
Huh? If you’re going to build your bike lowrider style , respect the culture and go all in.
It looks unfinished
@@Slickshapiro13 well it’s not a show bike and i love to ride so i wasn’t going to wait months for some white walls, they’re tires they would’ve had to be replaced at some point anyways
@@seabass_m fair enough 👍
Camera info?
this was on my iphone 12 pro max i believe at the time, now i have a 13 pro max
Whitewalls,!!!!
i know that’s a big part that was missing
Very original
The bike would really pop out with white walls
it was supposed to be white walls but dealer ordered wrong tires and at the time i would’ve had to wait 4-6 more months for some tires, i no longer have the softail though, i have a beautiful roadking that’s getting the cholo treatment!
I what one
you can do it bro, may take some time but you can, don’t sell yourself short
Twin Cams have too many mechanical issues that the owner has to rectify that should have been taken care of at the factory level. All resulting from the use of cheap parts. Such a pity.😢
All Harleys fall in that category, Willis.....

@@trailerparkcryptoking5213 l had my mom's Toyota Corolla. The car had 400,000 trouble free miles on it. The twin cam is not famous for reliability. It's mechanical issues are well documented. It and the M-8 are disposable motors. Best thing said about the T C is that it is a cheap platform for a S&S motor. The only bad thing about the EVOLUTION big twins is that they leak some oil from the base gasket and the cases need to be thicker for big inch motors. Real motorcycle leak oil but not too much.
07 and down the tensioners were on a clock for sure but the new ones which is in 08 and up from factory resolved that issue, i love my twin cam and i’ve never had mechanical issues with the two that i’ve owned
