Thanks. I have enough topics already laid out to last through the rest of the year at one per week. So the plan is to keep doing them for the foreseeable future.
I am so happy I found your channel. I have been asking myself for over two years now, is this what God meant “church” to be? Is this what he had in mind for us in his heart? I read the 1689 Westminster Confessional during Covid and it helped me realize what a great, glorious, wondrous God I belong to and HE alone is worthy of worship. At the same time I saw modern day mega preachers falling in sin right and left and worst of all learned about the book “Lies Jews Tell” by Martin Luther! How I wept! Why am I following any man? Our modern churches all seem to be going in the same direction…. too much how to and what to do and hardly any WHO we worship and WHY he is so worthy! So I have been taking a break from modern church and writing down for myself what I believe and what I have learned from God’s word. What Jesus and the Father have taught me from the word and how I understand (in context of the whole bible) what the spirit is saying in truth. Then how I will walk that out in my life. This is all done with the judgement day in mind so when I stand in front of Jesus, I pray I will hear well done and NOT depart for I never knew you. I am missing some of my fellow saints, but I can not abide in the body’s interpretations and applications. I very much appreciate the questions you are asking and your research. Thank you for having the courage to ask what you are asking.
I pray that you can find a group of fellow saints to meet with without compromising your faith. I've been meeting with some fellow saints in homes for the last few years. We rotate between 3 homes and usually eat together after our time of Bible study and sharing. It has provided so much more growth for us versus sitting in a pew looking at the back of someone's head and hearing the same person every week.
This is an excellent and informative video. Of the names of the religious groups mentioned, only one is found in the Bible--and this is one in which I was told by a member "We're a group of people who got 'fed up' with all the different denominations, so we decided to go back to what the Bible teaches." I found this to be true, so I obeyed what the Bible teaches and was baptized for the remission of sins. I'm sure that book about "Church History" is very interesting--but next to me is an even better one (its cover is mostly black) that tells me all of what I need to know!
You know, there is nothing like keeping a daily inventory . I can check myself to see how I interact with others and what my relationship with God is like . Then I can make some adjustment towards progress .

Every Christian organization ( and non Chris for that matter) does this. Even my own denomination. Large denominations make the mistake of trusting that local responsible stewards will , when making important decisions, meet together pray and consult the scriptures. No doubt this actually happens in most cases but then on occasion they make decisions which are clearly unsupported by scripture. Usually silly , minor , not doctrine related decisions. But these small variations wind up infringing in some small way , with the claim of the backing of holy spirit, upon the autonomy of family heads and individuals. Cumulatively these small decisions are quietly disagreed with and eventually the people they effect seek other denominations. More dangerous and impactful the greater Congregation authorities make decisions in a similar way but with the influence of political structures and monetary concerns and actually end up sweeping aside the clear doctrines presented in scripture. Typically, and this recently happened in my own denomination , at some point a good will effort is made to coarse correct without admitting that an actual and harmful set of errors has occurred. Meanwhile, individuals privately speculate using personal scriptural study that such a correction will eventually happen and patiently suffer the decisions of imperfect people. Humbly waiting on God. And watching as family members struggle very hard to even apply true teachings due to their experiences. It’s a sad state which the devil uses against many.
No, sorry. It was the Roman Catholics that began the process of adding to the Scriptures. Like the Pharisees, they added traditions of men while removing the traditions of God - beginning with Sabbath. Jesus is head, not the Pope.

That's absolutely correct. I was brought up in the Lutheran church, and had to memorize creeds--and even Martin Luther's defiinitions of these creeds as well as of the Lord's prayer. When I started grad school in another state, each day I literally had to walk by a building labeled "Church of Christ" and I became curious as to what they taught. Upon visiting, and talking with another grad student (a former Catholic), I asked "who are you people?" and he said "we are people who got 'fed up' with all the different denominations, and decided to go right back to what the Bible teaches!"--and this made sense to me, and over time I could see that they meant it. When one explores church history, there is only one church that is to be studied. The one that Jesus established. Christianity is a religion, not a church, There are over 30,000 churches that claim to be Christian - there is only one that Jesus founded. Which is that one Church our Lord established? Jesus said to Simon, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Mt 16:18-19). The change of Simon's name to Peter is of biblical importance (i.e. Abram to Abraham). It is not the name change that gives Peter his authority, It is the keys he his given to the kingdom of heaven. Jesus is king of heaven and earth; Peter's authority, is limited to the Church on earth. The LORD God said, "It shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah: And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open." The words of Jesus to Peter are very similar to those spoken to Eliakim. Jesus' kingdom, the Church, the house of David (2 Sam 7:12-16), is the kingdom that will last forever and that the gates of hell will never prevail over it. This is the Church Jesus Commissioned when He said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen" (Mt 26:18-20). In 107AD this Church was given the name Catholic. The Catholic Church is not to be confused with the Roman Catholic Church of Protestant Tradition. It promotes the fallacy that Constatine started the Roman Catholic Church in 312 AD. Constatine converted to Christianity and allowed Christians to freely practice their religion, Catholicism. The Catholic Church is comprised of 24 separate branches, know as rites. There is the Latin Rite or Western Rite better know as the Roman Catholic Church because it is Rome where Peter settled as head of the Church on earth, in the seat of the empire. Had he stayed in Antioch, the church of the west would be known as the Antiochian Catholic Church. There are 23 Eastern Rite Churches loosely centered around Constantinople (Istanbul). Each has "Catholic" as part of its name. The "problem" with the Catholic Church, as with any Christian Church, she is full of human beings, who are sinful and prideful. There have been heretics, less than upstanding popes and other clergy, persecutions, lied about, doctrines twisted, and many, many very poor examples of how to live a life in union with and conformed to Christ. Despite all this, the Church remains intact protected by Jesus Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit proclaiming the Good News protecting mankind from the wickedness and snares of Satan. The Protestant rebellion that began in 16th century has joined (though unknowingly) Satan's attack on the one Church Jesus founded. We have a common enemy. Satan does not have a chance against a united Christianity. As it stands today, he is having a field day.
I do agree that there are plenty of people who want the church run their way and I believe that is a sin of pride and a lack of humility. That's why whether or not I always like what the Pope says.
