Hey Mav, I have a recommendation for you. Put Oyster sauce in your cooking. It will make your food taste a lot better, especially with stir fried stuff. I’d recommend the Lee Kum Kee Panda Oyster sauce.
I used to catch Bonita off the Redondo Beach Pier all of the time. Monstad pier! They are oily, but really good when diced and fried with onion in olive oil. Yes, you have to bleed them.
Keep up the good work bro!!! You're videos motivate me to turn my 1998 dodge Dakota into a home like you're truck. You're videos are hella appreciated man. I've lived in California my whole life northern and southern california so it makes me miss home! just recently moved to Washington. Would love to fish with you sometime man!!! Much love!!!
Dude I know exactly where you cooked this... I live right up the hill! I bought a truck and am building a camper out now thank you for the inspiration!
Love the vids! Ever close to Newport try the jetty. They often have halibuts and a good amount of Calico bass. Quick tip (no offense please; told someone once when I watched their video and their tortilla was breaking as they chewed). Try to burn it over the low fire and let it get “bumpy” if that makes sense. If the tortilla is the same color shade as it once was in the bag, it’s still not good. Apologies for the rant, but man those tacos looked 🔥🔥🔥
I was in San Diego not too long ago and went out of H&M landing on the Malihini and we caught a lot of fish. It wasn't very expensive and we came back with bonita, halibut, yellowtail. Best trip ever.
I stumbled upon your channel randomly on my recommendations. Glad I did! Awesome stuff bud, l binge-watched all ur vids. Subbed and turned on notifications!
I've fished all the major landings here in San Diego. H & M, Point Loma, and Fisherman's landing are in the Pt Loma, Shelter Island area on the Big Bay side, and Seaforth on the Mission Bay side. All do a good job and all have boats that can get you on fish. October puts you at the end of the Bluefin and Yellowfin tuna season so you need to get down and get on a trip fast before things cool off too much and we switch over to fishing rockfish for the late fall/winter (though you still see Albacore in November often). Depending on conditions you'll want to do at least a full day off shore or longer. Obviously, the longer the trip the better the chances. Most landings down here have boats that are doing full day, overnight and 1.5 day trips wrapping up their seasons targeting Bluefin, Yellowfin, etc. Obviously longer trips are available but I don't know your timeline or budget. Expect to pay $160ish or so for full day, $240ish for overnight and up to $340ish for day and a half limited load. The skippers and deckhands will tell you best gear, line and leader weights, hook size etc for what baits are available and of course recommended lures/iron. Rental gear is available if your not sorted out for these types of trips yet. Hope you get bent in the corner! Keep the great content coming.
I don’t know if you know this mav, but at 6:54 when you dropped the cooler, we fasho felt that. and also, when you cut the avocado, turn the two pieces clockwise and counter clock wise, you’ll struggle a lot less friend.
Mav get some peanut oil to fry fish in! Great video young man live the life while you are young. You won't regret it! Best of luck to you are your gal!
Right now they are catching yellowfin tuna and skipjack on the ³/⁴ day boats out of San Diego. There's the liberty out of fisherman's landing then the grande out of h&m landing the mission belle out of point Loma sportfishing and my favorite boat 3/4 day boat is the San Diego out of seaforth landing. I hope you get to catch some tuna 🤙🎣
Seaforth landing in San Diego either jump on the San Diego which a full day really fishy boat. Or fisherman’s landing the liberty. Best full day boats.
Hey, if you want to try some tuna fishing in San Diego, try one of the boats at H&M Landing. They usually seem to find some fish, though I'm not sure you're looking for a long trip offshore or not. Best to check the reports!
How tall are you Mav? Wondering because of your truck campertop set up. My truck is EXACTLY the same as yours but its a 2013. I'm 6'3" and wondering if it would work for me too.
If you blow into the bag and fill up all the extra space with air like a balloon it makes it even easier to spread seasonings or breading on your fish. Keep up the awesome videos!
Looked like fishing for Bonita is really fun. Man, do you ever fish with live bait? I noticed that the rods looked kind of heavy. What is the set-up for Bonita fishing with bait? One last thing is that I had not heard of "bleeding" out the fish until I started watching fishing on UA-cam. Bass and Trout we never did that just kept them alive on stingers. I guess that was our own version of "bleeding" since they were alive until we cleaned them. I really enjoyed this video. I would like to see you do more fishing with Matt and Jessie. They seemed to have a lot of "local" fishing knowledge. It seems like having the Dometic (sp?) fridge right next to you like that takes up a lot of apace. Is there another way that you could reconfigure the non sleeping side of the back so that you have more room? I know that the second drawer takes up space; but if you could have half of the camper go to the floor, it might be easier to deal with and ultimately less of a pain in the butt maybe?

Thanks Mav. Great job. Stay wholesome. Was hoping Hannah would pop up and wasn't disappointed - thanks ♥️
Who is Hannah?
Dude I know exactly where you cooked this... I live right up the hill! I bought a truck and am building a camper out now thank you for the inspiration!
also try curling ur fingers to use as a guiding hand when chopping it prevents slips and ur less likely to cut yourself
Matt, Jesse, Hannah, and a catch & cook make for a great video! Keep on truckin!
2024 UA-cam is still recommending these oldies but goodies ❤

Mav has a dope ass channel. Cant get enough of you and pig patrol on UA-cam top favorites at the moment.
Wow ! It seems u had a TON of fun !!!
Get one of those slap chop manual choppers. save you a lot of time and a Japanese vegetable slicer.
I was thinking the same, but realized the time he'll save chopping, he'll lose cleaning out the thing. Not easy without running water
My 2 faves are rainbow trout and #1 silver pompano .
