Cruised Scarlet December 2023, and cruising on her April 2025. I couldn’t even imagine getting on a ship with 6,000 people! We even talked friends into going this cruise and my niece is going in March. This cruise is what you make of it and everyone is accepted, no side eyes or stares at anyone. Thanks for your review from the staffing side and what you saw.
Cruised on Virgin twice, and we love it! The food options are incredible. Your description is bang on. The one thing to add is that it might at first seem more expensive, but pretty much everything is included (no tips or drink packaged to pay for, other than alcoholic beverages). 👍
absolutely love virgin voyages, partially thanks to your vlogs that made me interested in the first place, i did 3 last year and have 2 booked for next year, im a solo traveller and have just turned 60, but i feel totally comfortable in the environment i find them very relaxing ,you can do as much or as little as you want. pink agave is my go to first night restaurant, its amazing, the staff are outstanding and go out of there way to make every one welcome.
Love VV!! I am 61 and have my 3rd one booked in March with my adult kids, took my 2 daughters on the last one and now they are hooked and bringing there spouses for the next one. so much fun!!
I’m 71 and my daughter and I just got off Valiant Lady on Friday. We had an amazing time, loved the entertainment, food was superb unlike other cruise lines ,Virgin goes for quality over quantity. The crew were the best I’ve come across,so friendly. To be honest I’ve seen more upside down Pineapples on Carnival than on Virgin. We only want to cruise with Virgin now!I do agree that they could do with more things to do during the day..
Awsome. Well I'm glad for the most part you had a wonderful time. I really think if they improved their day time entertainment, they'd be unstoppable! Thanks for watching! Xx
Carnivore just stated that the staff would be removing pineapples from doors going forward as they are a family cruise line. I thought that was funny. Honestly, kids would more than likely not think anything about the pineapples. They would just think they got turned upside down. There would be no reason to explain them to kids until they are old enough to understand clearly. By then they will probably explain them to you. Hell, I just found out recently what they mean at 60 years old.
Don't know what people want to do in the day went on the celebration cruise this year from Barcelona 7days one sea day so do the virgin cruise with less sea days.but I do understand if it rains on a sea day.its not a royal carbi ship wit ice rings etc.
Hi just found your channel as me and my partner are taking a Caribbean cruise with Virgin in January, so I'm doing as much research as i can, we are in our 60's but what i have seen so far has made me look forward to our cruise and also feel a little nervous too. Cant wait! Keep up the good videos, i am enjoying them.
Great vid as always. Thinking about trying a VV cruise. I've been mostly on MSC as that is what my budget allows and they don't hit me too hard for being solo. However, your previous video felt like VV care a lot for their solo cruisers (compared to other cruise lines where its mostly a self hosted thing). Being a bit introverted, I feel like this would give a push to socialise more, especially since crew get involved in trying to get people to join in rather than stay in their own little corners. Also just how different VV seems compared to mainstream cruise lines. Thanks to your vids for showing this part of VV and thanks for all the other great videos!! (on a side note, your videos have been mostly coming out from left channel for a while. When hearing from a phone, it doesn't seem to be noticed as much but if you hear it on a pc or if you turn off all audio effects and hear the raw audio from your clip, you clearly hear it from left channel. The sound effects you added in this video are correct on both left and right channels).
Hi Lucy. I really enjoy your videos. I’m solo traveling next week on Dominican Daze. Really enjoyed my last Virgin cruise and while I am not a big fan of the risqué entertainment, the food, the value, the easy going vibe and the sea terrace hammock are enough to keep me coming back. I’d prefer more musical groups and less “red” but overall it’s a great line and adults only is a huge plus. My view is you make it a great cruise by enjoying the things you like best while on board. Thanks for this excellent video.
Oh how fun. Same cruise as me! You're so right about just making the Most of the aspects you enjoy! Thanks for watching and have a great Voyage next week!
There are so many other cruises that offer more class and grace…you don’t need this one…not all adults stoop to this juvenile level, but the ones that do have to congregate somewhere…and some of them have chosen this cruise line, obviously.
The pool is small on all cruise ships, at least smaller than you think for that many people. Putting in an Olympic size pool is impossible on a ship. Water is very heavy, about 8.5 pounds @ gallon.
Thanks for the review. As former crew and now guest you bring a great perspective to this. it looks like a great time for free spirited people. That black dress? Oh my!
My wife and I sailed Valiant Lady for the first time in 2022, we fell in love with crusing the Virgin Way (No KIDS)! This year in November we went with my mom and her husband, and have already started planning out next voyage. What I will say is that if you're looking for something specific you're likely to find it, a crusie ship is a small town at sea so really anything you can find in a town you'll find onboard. So if you're looking to swing I'm sure you can find that if you're looking to just hang out I know you can find that. And if you're looking for something in between well that's there too. There truly does seem to be something for everyone here. I love being on board so much that I've applied to see if working at sea is for me.
We (mid 50's) enjoyed our first Voyage recently. We're foodies, and were not disappointed in the least, especially with me being Celiac. Even without being 'party people', we had a great time, and are looking forward to more voyages in the future.
There are so many cruises to choose from, probably Virgin aren't at the top of our list, but then never say never! I'd always say yes to a cruise to somewhere and I really like that they've tried to be different, the only way to know for sure is try one, maybe we will some day!
LOVE Virgin! I'm not a partier -- definite introvert -- but Virgin is the cruise you make it, and I made it awesome. I skipped the night life and enjoyed the food and excursions and quiet times. It's my very favorite cruise line, bar none. (And I wouldn't classify it as a sex cruise, a swingers cruise, or a gay cruise. Love the inclusivity, though!) Oh, and the lack of kids. Great food, no kids, no tipping. Really, what else do I need???
Yeah, this is what I am looking for, too. I am not seeking out the raunchy parties or the adults only comedy show, and I stay away from kids play zones anyway. I just do my thing and enjoy my cruise my way.
We absolutely love Virgin. We are planning our third cruise. Swingers on board? We’ve only see a few out there advertising with unambiguous pineapple wear on our two sailings. Overall it’s our favorite cruise line
I am not a party animal at all, neither is the friend I went with but we loved Virgin Voyages.❤ It was her first cruise and by the time we were half way through she had already booked another one.
We just got off celebrity ascent and had a great time, but felt our adult daughters would be bored. We cancelled the ascent cruise to Europe and booked virgin hoping for a more lively cruise.
Im happy you stated some love or hate. I hated it all, the crew, the food in the galley was nauseating, the service was terrible, and the drinks were hard to get (unless you were a part of the crew on break), and only being able to eat at a particular restaurant once during the cruise was super annoying. I did, however, enjoy the hammock on my balcony. But that literally the only good part. Great video.
I am also shocked to see how many people think this cruise is "risque" there were absolutely no shenanigans going on during my Voyage. As a matter of fact, people were extremely conservative. Besides having a drag show, there was nothing super party like about this ship. People read books and went to bed.
I don't know. I'm doing my first VV in a few weeks. I'm not a party person. I work on my laptop alone on Starlink in my stateroom 8hrs/day. So I just want good food and good service and maybe see some ports and maybe enjoy a show or two. That's what I did on Carnival. Carnival has adult-only comedy shows that many of my table mates attended. I did not go to the Carnival adults only comedy shows. So, I'm thinking that I'll enjoy Virgin Voyages about the same as I enjoyed Carnival. I will bring a good book to read, also, alone in my stateroom. That's just how I am. I am anxious to find out if Virgin Voyages is right for me. Wish me luck!
I enjoy your content Lucy.. however, I do watch with ear buds & the right side of the audio is off.. maybe it’s a mic setting when you record?.. it would put you on a whole other level.. Cheers! ❤
For those seeking a more subdued adult-only environment, I can recommend Viking. Especially if your priorities include historically interesting excursions and talks, or five-star food. I do regret to mention that the entertainment and the selection of specialty dining are not as varied as on Virgin.

A very 1960s cruise concept brought to the present day. It's fine. For anyone who is an adult, whatever the age. At least it is different from the formulaic stuff in many of the other lines and they don't charge for most specialty restaurants.
Virgin would be great for people in their 40's and 50's that LOVED partying in college. I haven't cruised with them yet but this video made it look awesome.
I agree with you, but there is so much more to it. My mom is nearly 70 and she loved her first VV cruise and got spoiled with no kids. It's really nice to have a truly adult vacation where you don't have to worry about slipping up and offending some parent for something you said within earshot of their tiny terror. I raised mine I'm ready to enjoy life without the kids. You'll love it. And when comparing prices always remember that you'll never pay for food on VV unless you want to and that's for stuff like Caviar, High Tea, and my favorite the Tomohawk Ribeye for only $75.00 is pretty damn good price (the Filet is included)
Nice Video....As far as the sound goes, I hear you in my left earphone....it would be better if the sound was in the center. Other than that, it sounds good. Thanks
Yeah, probably not for me. I'm in my early 60s and I was all-in when I heard about the food choices, but really not into the party scene - I don't dance and I don't drink and I'm not terribly open minded, but I am a mutant. I party like Lt. Commander Data, I observe and play poker for fun.
As an older gay man and solo cruiser, I’d be somewhat divided on this, although I do appreciate the fact that it is a children-free cruise - I do tend to be conservative-minded, toned down and more classy - is some of the things on the later versions more toned down and less tacky? I tend to agree
I heard on another channel that another cruise line was banning bringing the pineapple magnets on board because there were incidents of people thinking it was funny to stick them on random doors as a prank.
I do feel that Virgin have managed to build this reputation that turns lots of people off, but it's really undeserved when you cruise with them. To be honest, I find the product really nice, relaxing, but with a bit of fun thrown in too - nowhere near as 'wild' as what some people expect...!
i like that "specialty" dining is included or otherwise equally accessible..not because i think it's some amazing free perk but i've wondered whether having to pay for each specialty place in addition to the food covered in costs would be an incentive for a ship to not excel too much in the main/buffet because they'd want specialty to offer something noticeably better and get those extra dollars. (though they can't make the buffet too bad since that'll get out in the reviews...🙂)
I’ve wondered about specialty dining; I noticed on lines where specialty dining is chargeable, the food quality is very high compared to the included food (eg Celebrity). I found on lines where specialty dining is included, the quality of specialty dining might be good, but not necessarily amazing, given the price (Regent, Oceania). I haven’t tried Virgin, so I’m quite curious how their food quality is compared to luxury lines
Nice video. I really wanted to like this cruise line. The adults-only feature was so appealing! I've never cruised on Virgin and I have no problem with what Virgin offers or stands for. I've heard that the food is incredible and the entertainment is stellar. I'm gay and I never got the impression that it was a "gay" or "swingers" cruise line. All that being said, I think the ships are ugly. I hate red and I hate grey. There's nothing lux about these ships. They have uncomfortable looking furniture, unappealing staterooms that look like Ikea and Forever 21 had a baby and too much cold metal on the outer decks. For these reasons, I will never book a Virgin cruise.
That's what I'm wondering. Am i going to spend a week on a floating IKEA store with uncomfortable but "sleek modern" furniture? Is it going to be full of 40 year old single mothers have a girls nght out and reliving their drunk college years? If so, I would not re-book a second cruise.
Viking is Adults only, Well if you can call a cruise full of 70+ gray heads Adults. Maybe they are a Seniors only cruise line... LOL The sound is better!
I have watched so many videos on VVs. The food and restaurants always look amazing. The ships are gorgeous as well as the public spaces. Aside from the Rock Star suites, the other rooms look rather sparse and basic. I still would give it a try in the future.
Ohhh well I've never had Georgia Boils Penuts. It's a spread that we English people like to have on our toast for breakfast. Personally I live Marmite! Thanks for watching!!
Most of us gay people have to research possible holiday destinations, that we will be safe / not in danger of being arrested for being ourselves. The fact cruise lines are making themselves unapologetic gay friendly is actually a plus. Most straight people (more straight men granted) rarely have to question or research possible holiday destinations…
No matter how you try to cover this cruise line, it still comes out as tacky and classless…and, yes, it does reflect an unfortunate part of current society!
Maybe but current society? Wife and partner swapping dates back to the 1950s and the sexual revolution was in the 1960s. Land versions of this type of entertainment have been operating for decades. Nothing just current about this. It's just brought to the high seas.

Does Virgin offer a ship-within-a-ship experience (like MSC Yacht Club)?

For those seeking a more subdued adult-only environment, I can recommend Viking. Especially if your priorities include historically interesting excursions and talks, or five-star food. I do regret to mention that the entertainment and the selection of specialty dining are not as varied as on Virgin.
Audio is only in the left Chanel :(
is virgin the star trek's risa resort planet of the cruise lines, and the pineapple is the horga-hn? haha cool 😀

A very 1960s cruise concept brought to the present day. It's fine. For anyone who is an adult, whatever the age. At least it is different from the formulaic stuff in many of the other lines and they don't charge for most specialty restaurants.

I am single guy. I want to try Virgin cruise. would a single guy enjoy Virgin cruise?
Viking is Adults only, Well if you can call a cruise full of 70+ gray heads Adults. Maybe they are a Seniors only cruise line... LOL The sound is better!
Lucy is looking ravishing lately, I can't put my finger on it but, WOW, simply breathtaking.
Thank you!
@CruisingAsCrew Does that mean we'll get a 2025 Swimsuit Calendar? I'll take 20
@@taxfree4VERY creepy. Boundaries 😮💨 🤦🏽♀️ she’s a beautiful woman not an object for your entertainment
Too risqué for my taste. 😅
You will be fine … smile and laugh and enjoy yourself …. We go around once .
I have watched so many videos on VVs. The food and restaurants always look amazing. The ships are gorgeous as well as the public spaces. Aside from the Rock Star suites, the other rooms look rather sparse and basic. I still would give it a try in the future.
Great video. I will find out in 2026!
I thought I might like different. No not tempted. Casual, Good food yes. Wild night life party stuff no.
I had to Google "What is Marmite?"
I think I'll skip it and stick to my Georgia boiled peanuts.
Marmite is delicious :) some might claim not to like it but I'm sure they're just trolling!
marmite, you either hate it or love it, and I love it!
Ohhh well I've never had Georgia Boils Penuts. It's a spread that we English people like to have on our toast for breakfast. Personally I live Marmite! Thanks for watching!!
@@CruisingAsCrew I suspect Nutella is the American equivalent in the love-it-or-hate-it department.
Great review for someone who has considered Virgin. And wow you are gorgeous.
Why do you sort of blurp the word 'SEX'?
I've never been on a cruise and I'm not a party kinda guy so ....there's that. :)
The most obvious question is you started solo, did you end up duo ?
Doubt it.
No disrespect intended. My god, you are so beautiful!
I was interested but I've no idea what a pineapple is, other than a constituent of a fruit cocktail.
Most of us gay people have to research possible holiday destinations, that we will be safe / not in danger of being arrested for being ourselves. The fact cruise lines are making themselves unapologetic gay friendly is actually a plus. Most straight people (more straight men granted) rarely have to question or research possible holiday destinations…
because straight men dont force their sexuality into everyones face?
I'll stick with my Celebrity Cruises. Not a foodie or night person but I am 70...maybe 40 years ago. Lol
......floating Petri dishes ......no thanks
Adults only sounds good to me. Not brats allowed.
Too many whales out of the water.
Really annoying using American words when Brirish.
Are we that ashamed of being British?
This has to be the worst, most cheesy review of any cruise ship I have ever seen! Your preachy attitude sucks, your information is weak on facts!
Is it just me or is Lucy beautiful enough to literally be a model?
I wish Virgin would have 'straights only' cruises. I do not want to see gays when I am on vacation.
I hate seeing straights on my cruises. Mostly tacky trailer trash.
