Can we please stop saying that SA has big men. Have you seen the French pack(way bigger than SA)? Just look at the stats first. To be big means you have to be taller and weigh more. If you compare players by position, then after you do averages by team, you will then see that SA is always shorter than the opposition and weigh less to the opposition, and most especially to top rugby nations. Maybe we can just say they are fitter. And NZ is actually big too, I was watching a previous match with SA when the stat even showed on screen that they have a starting pack greater than 20kgs to SA. Which then shows that they are bigger than SA. The SAn front row are very short men, and similar size in height as chelsin kolbe, kurt lee, faf de clerk etc... which are very small rugby players. SA are good because of the rugby they play: good defense (which means you can scrore less against them), good kicking game (territory), great setpiece (dominant), good in carrying over the advantage line (go forward), good high percentage of perfect lineouts etc... And that model has proven to be working over and over for them. Now they are adding an attack to what's already proven to work for them. They just gonna be hard to stop in 2027 if they can get the attack part right and make it fire.
@BraziwiSteve do take time and do the calculations yourself. If you talk big/giant men and just look at Eben, RG, PSDT, you are looking at a small part of the SAn team. The team consists of 23 players. There's other players on the team who are not big. Others are just average rugby size (same as all nations). Other teams if only you look at just a picture you can't differentiate a scrum-half, winger to props, you just have to look hard. All I'm saying is SA is not as big/giant as people say they are, because if a team is bigger than the opposition they have to be taller than them, and they have to weigh more than the opposition. Which is not a case when you compare SA with top rugby nations. If you compare SA to Japan, then that statement becomes more true. Every team has big players (locks, props etc.. ) and small players (wingers, scrum-half etc...). But if you do averages you will then see SA compared with top rugby nations is not big at all. They weigh less to the opposition and shorter than the opposition most of the time. (That sometimes gets skewed by which players are selected in the 23). According to your statement about loose forwards. All loose forwards are all about the same range of height and weight for all teams, thats not an advantage to SA. Because that stat is just average across teams. The difference is not that big
@ I’ve done the math, in fact I wrote an article on this very topic. The results showed after analysing the heights and weights of the top 10 teams in the world that South Africa are right up there in terms of “size”. Now, this was a few years ago and since then guys like Kurt lee and Kolbe have come through so perhaps they have lowered the average slightly. Even still the boks are and will probably always be right up there as a team on the bigger size scale. It’s how they play.

The 2011 Rugby World Cup remains a topic of controversy for many rugby fans, particularly in South Africa, where conspiracy theories have circulated regarding the tournament's fairness. Critics argue that the All Blacks were not dominant "world-beaters" at the time and suggest that certain officiating decisions significantly influenced the outcomes of key matches. One contentious moment was the quarter-final clash between Australia and South Africa, where referee Bryce Lawrence's decisions were heavily criticized. Many felt his officiating unfairly favored Australia, contributing to their victory over the Springboks. Lawrence's career trajectory after the tournament only fueled suspicions, as he reportedly received promotions within New Zealand rugby but never officiated on the field again. Another controversial match was the final between New Zealand and France. Allegations of biased refereeing arose as Richie McCaw, New Zealand's captain, was accused of consistently playing offside without being penalized. Critics believe that if the match had been officiated more stringently, New Zealand might not have emerged as champions. Adding to the intrigue, some note that a South African referee later relocated to New Zealand, raising eyebrows among conspiracy theorists. Fast forward to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where New Zealand fell short in the final. If the All Blacks were "robbed" in that tournament, many argue they have only themselves to blame for their shortcomings on the day.
Yes Steve they were beaten and are beatable but they also used 52 players in recent times and that does not count people who are injured. If they get a settled First XV after the experimentation is done it may become more difficult for their opponents so SA is learning too.
Foster was an excellent coach who had shit NZRFU support and a squad shorn of Mc Caw and the spine of the Hansen tenure. NZ rugby public were deplorable, too, mostly.
Where has Foster ever been a good coach? Look at his record. Waikato. Chiefs. ABs. He’s back where he belongs. Robin to Hansens Batman, at Toyota. The scandal and shame was that he ever got the ABs top job because he was hansens boy. We had a playing group that was good enough to win the WC. Foster never sorted crucial selections nor the shocking discipline. Cane was hansens boy. So he was fosters boy. It cost us the WC.
Steve and others said, the Boks play boring rugby ?? How far has boring brought them now? The same boring team is now the best no1 with double WCups and with a AB coach ,couching there backline😂 , how do you call that boring when you have an ex AB couching them
Did Shag actually say SA are playing boring rugby? I’m not sure he did. I’d be surprised if he did because, like all NZ coaches, Shag has huge respect for SA rugby. Which is how it should be - and reciprocated.
Seemed like he had a bit of a hard time complementing current coaching group. Grumpy bugger. He was a great coach but geez, he had the greatest group of players to work with.
The current group doesn't deserve praise. ABs played terribly this year, and the only change has been the coaches. The lengths people go to defend some truly shocking schoolboy level Rugby this year boggles the mind.
"Sir Steve Hansen 'open' to coaching international rugby again" ive heard from a very reliable source that rassie is busy roping steve in, for after the 2027 rwc!! 😲
Hanson wants Razor gone, he feels he can bring back the glory days, but the group of players Hansen had back then were a special group, kinda once in a life time team. Even if he comes back now, SA have a once in a life time group right now, so Hansen can forget it, the Boks will dominate for a bit longer then they will fade slowly just like the All Blacks did. However, given the talent in SA, I think it's gonna be a long wait for the Boks to fade, maybe a 4th WC will then see them slowly fade with Rassie Retiring. Maybe.😅

The guy responsible for giving us foster and NZRU for keeping him
Absolutely right.
Foster was a good coach and was poorly treated by the NZ media and many kiwis that bought into what the media pushed.
@@MichaelShaw-n4cOh, you mean the same disciplinary issues still present under Robertson? Almost like that's on the players, as they know better.
Wales?
Steve and others said, the Boks play boring rugby ?? How far has boring brought them now? The same boring team is now the best no1 with double WCups and with a AB coach ,couching there backline😂 , how do you call that boring when you have an ex AB couching them
Did Shag actually say SA are playing boring rugby? I’m not sure he did. I’d be surprised if he did because, like all NZ coaches, Shag has huge respect for SA rugby. Which is how it should be - and reciprocated.
@@CalTheKiwi1I never heard him say that. I heard that talking head Wilson ask the question on the Breakdown though.
Seemed like he had a bit of a hard time complementing current coaching group. Grumpy bugger. He was a great coach but geez, he had the greatest group of players to work with.
@@AKHNZ very true probably the best group to wear black especially 2012 13 14 15 teams
The current group doesn't deserve praise. ABs played terribly this year, and the only change has been the coaches. The lengths people go to defend some truly shocking schoolboy level Rugby this year boggles the mind.
"Sir Steve Hansen 'open' to coaching international rugby again"
ive heard from a very reliable source that rassie is busy roping steve in, for after the 2027 rwc!!
Maybe.😅
Hi Steve I agree with you south Africa must compete clean that's why they say Hulle weet Nie wat ons weet Nie, so that mean you guys don't know what you guys knowing
Springboks playing American Football not UNIONS! 😂😂
So he’s opening the door for Wales
Hopefully NZR Listen To The Wise Words Of Sir Steve🤞
Come back and coach Crusaders...
We just need the best players for test matches if we want to stay competitive we need our top players to be available Especially in key positions 9, 10 control the show
Hansen ,the has been coach trying to stay relevant. It's not 2015 anymore Stevy , wake up and smell the coffee. Something in his brain won't accept that the ABS are not the world's best team.
Hey Steve. Wake up. This is not 2011 or 2015
The Best coach in the World ......Sir Steve Hansen,Fos is up there with him as well .......Go the Mighty All Blacks.
@@jonathonmerson93 to be fair that would he Rassie🙂
Hansen FAILED at the 2019 RWC!!!!! He did NOT sort the AB issues with the rush umbrella defense, selections and ill-discipline to which the ABs are still suffering from!
Ever since we won the three Test series in NZ in '22, we have become, 'The Great Un-Loved', imo. It'd be great craic to have Sir Steven Hansen back as an International Coach. He is possibly the finest coach the All Blacks have had, to this point. I respect him immensely and enjoy his dry mannerisms. God you bless yous😊👌
Some bitterly sour grapes there Hansen. Interestingly, you’re adamant that the AB’s were robbed yet you’re quite happy to accept tries on the back of knock-ons and forward passes. Yeah, that’s the spirit. Right on, good form and good on ya mates…
I guess the ref missed those kicks?
Razor will be unhappy to hear that...
Sour grapes?
He just calls it like he see it. A spade is a spade.
Very much so
He can coach Japan after Eddie gets kicked out
Hey Steve. You're the only man in the world that thinks ABs were robbed in the 23 final 😂
You are the one who wanted average international player Richie Mounga at 10 and ruined 2019 RWC taking Beaudy and Ben smith out of their positions. Take the blame for that and the team kept ruining and lost another in 23, which both was lead by your guy Richie Mounga 🤮
harder beat SA because NZ dont play them in super, so as hanson said the myth grows. NZ were able keep SA down in super
Steve Hansen looks and sound half asleep . His logic as well.
Steve .... with all due respect !!
The Springboks had to beat the Top 6 Nations in the World to get through to the Final and Win the World Cup !!
So please don't talk Shit !!
The All Black's had a easy run thru !!
Suck it up and wait for the Treble from the Boks !!
Argentina beat our b team away. NZ lost with their A team at home...
What about all the exciting backs SA has produced the last few years: Sacha, Kolbe, Williams, De Allende, Kriel, Fasi, Arendse. Ireland, France, even Scotland matches the Boks' forwards so stop with this nonsense that we are just beating teams with our size. Wonder what Hansen gonna say when this Boks beat NZ in NZ next year, and I really hope 1 of the games will be at Eden Park!!!
yes blame the referee.
Did he just drop a big fart towards the end. Thats wat he thinks about lingo 💨
you re fitst worldcup was due too a ref..
Sour steve
Llorón. Todavía que les regalaron un foward-pass y se queja.
Left out in the cold for obvious reasons...
Hi I just want to say I accidentally opened this. Wouldnt want to watch this absolute shit so please just subtract my view from the total
Can you help out Samoa 😂
All the BS aside, NZ and SA have a mutual respect for each other that the other teams don’t quite have.
"Robbed" What a load of KAK!!!
😂😂😂😂
Rassie
What a sad and salty clown 🤡 😂
SA are not that great
Two back to back World Cups say different.
@@KernowekTim they definitely payed the ref for the second one
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡@@Jordan-mq4wj
@@Jordan-mq4wjbest team in thw world and definately better than the ABs🇿🇦👌🏻🙂
Keep telling yourself that 😂 stats don’t lie buddy. Go have a look at the Boks trophy cabinet the last 4 years
The ABs were not robbed, poor tackling technique and ill discipline cost them, plus two missed penalty kicks. It’s funny the day after the World Cup final he was on the breakdown and never said anything about this World Cup robbery 😂😂😂
Robbed? ABs missed two kicks in a World Cup Final… no more to say
Difference in World Cup final between two teams were Goal Kicking
