  • Lawn mowers and string trimmers are highly useful pieces of equipment, but sometimes when you're working in large and overgrown conditions... you need something more. Enter DR Power's Brush and Field Mower. We got our hands on the XD26 model, and took it out to our ranch property in Polk County, Florida. Capable of taking out up to 3" saplings and any brush, weeds, shrubbery, or overgrowth you throw its way.

One advantage I see is that you could take the walk behind in places where you'd bury a tractor

I have the older model with the side discharge. That brush hog is a work horse!

Thanks. How low does it cut the grass ie inches from the ground? I could not see properly behind where you had mowed for a sense of how low it slashes.

I just moved to the country and wanted a rising bush hot for the lot next to me that is unkept … the lot that I have the house on gets zero turn mowed.
I love on fairly steep hills on a lake and my neighbor suggested this over the tractor because of the slop and the stability of this.. a riding tractor can get a bit dicy.. if anyone has used this on steep uneven hills any feedback would be great.

REMOVE THE OIL DRAIN TUBE. That will get knocked loose, the cap will twist off and you'll seize the engine. Ask me how I know.

Had the same thing happen a few years ago. DR got me a new engine under warranty. You're right though. Either zip tie it , or replace it with a drain plug.

For that price and the time it will take, pay someone to bushhog it with a tractor.

  • @peanutsmith1462

For that price you can buy a used tractor and bush hog and ride instead of walking

Can't always get a tractor and bush hog where you need to clear but I agree if you are just mowing and clearing large ares this wouldn't make sense.
