  • After making this video, I packed the game up. As I was erasing the boards and getting all the cards together and putting the tiles away, I felt like I was saying goodbye to another realm. Although I have reservations about the game, I have to admit it was a compelling experience in retrospect.

I always lay out the original map where everything joins before I start. The randomness will then come from the order of the destination cards that can appear anywhere on the map. I never get bored of Adrimon.

8:00 I never found that interview you mentioned but it makes a lot of sense - Jonathan the designer doesn't playtest any of his products. Nobody in the team does. Rules are just not anyone's responsibility. Not only Jonathon but also James who joined the team later gave incorrect responses to questions ppl asked on bgg. The main focus of the team is produce 6 volumes, 6 expansions, 6 campaign books, but without real passion or interest.
9:00 it's not fair or appropriate to refer to expansions without giving a basegame only alternative.
9:25 Agree - they should have created a separate Thematic Circumstance table for the base game only.
All it tries to do is make you feel you missed out, in a very sneaky way.
So do half the encounters and bosses in the first part of the sb.
Even with exp the ordering of the tables is wrong -> You can be on Forest but next to an Enthralled city, which table do you consult?
9:40 those are NOT minor quibbles.
10:30 Agree. A board game requires more precision than Mariucci & Sons are able to provide.
11:00 Agree. it's unfair to ask the player to make a ruling when they are in the process of learning a game! And to guess what the designer had in mind... He never played it either.
15:00 Agree. Mountains should point up.
20:00 cubes as resources is a cool idea. Funny how nobody else uses that. The map binder solution of 21:00 is cool, but takes up a lot of space, you have no way to label the tables.
24:00 a 10 is not an auto fail!
You completely missed the Critical fail range and Critical success range.
No wonder, it's as everything else, messed up and poorly explained.
