  • The Notre Dame Céilí Band was founded in 2021 to support the growing interest in Irish traditional dance and music culture on campus. The band seeks to help deepen student engagement and understanding of Irish folk culture through traditional Irish music repertoire and social dance, and is made up of 30+ musicians and dancers of various levels of experience, from All-Ireland competitors to novice whistle players. Musical training and performance opportunities give students an opportunity to develop authentic traditional repertoire and style.Support the Céilí Band"

The Céilí Band hosts on-campus tailgating events, traditional Irish music sessions, and céilís (Irish social dances, drawing upwards of 250 students at each event).
Students, faculty, or staff that are interested in participating in Céilí Band should contact Professor Dunne to schedule an audition.

With 20 departments across the humanities, arts, and social sciences, the College of Arts and Letters is home to exceptional faculty and talented students who are studying what they love. It's an environment to ask big questions, read classic texts, and explore languages and cultures.
We're not just about learning through acquisition. We're about learning through exploration. Our undergraduate students travel the globe to research topics that fascinate them, then turn their observations into conclusions about the world.

Through the liberal arts, you learn to read deeply. Think about issues critically. Discuss topics thoughtfully. Write arguments persuasively. Contribute to projects creatively. And these abilities aren't just vital in the classroom-they're exactly what employers, graduate schools, and service organizations are looking for.
