A hand made runway years in the making, and then the people being excited that all of their hard work has been worth it. How crazy that feeling has to be for them!
Great video again. We love those beautiful planes, but they matter little if they are not at the service of people. They clearly bring joy to them. You portrait both aspects here clearly.
Lord tell me why I can't watch your intros without shedding a tear of Joy and sheer awe at the lives changed and inspired by you sharing your journey. The way the group carried you off had to be the most amazing feeling ever so much gratitude in what you do.
i’m a 70-year young indonesian with 40some years & 23k hours of all-big jet flying 2/3 of the world. watching what you did really amazes me. my highest salute to you guys and to my fellow papuans. fly safe, boys. godspeed 🫡🫡
Incredible to see just how much this means to these people, very powerful first scene as they came out to meet you. The joy on their faces is priceless. Thank You for all that you do. God Bless!
It was a very great pleasure to watch. Long time ago i flew micro light in Germany. Now i am aged 74 and i live in Thailand since 2 years and i love to watch all about flying. Take care all times and be careful. Many thanks from Rainer in Phitsanulok.
Wow. An amazing video. The lush green scenes of Papua from the air were mesmerizing. I enjoyed this much more than anything National Geographic could have produced.
EXCELLENT film. You not only manage to convey the challenge of a first landing on a new and untried landing strip and the beauty of flying on such a remote place, but also beautifully show how much it means to the local village that they now have access to an air plane and what that entails. Well done and please keep it up.
The few camera mistakes actually add to the quality of this video. Being in that place is being in another world, another time so the camera being out of focus or zoomed in highlights the disorienting feeling of moving to another place in time. These people worked hard to get a plane to land in their tiny spot on this earth, amazing.
the runway thresold is scary. That been said, i love the idea to go where real situation of isolated people exists. The fact to live in big cities does not always lead to know how other parts of human civilization lives in our world.Very nice videos and, i love those little planes that are capable to land in complicated places.
Dude, I never comment on anything in the UA-cam universe.. First time for everything. A wonderful piece of filmmaking. And really good professional flying in a challenging environment. All the best. E
Love the people. They seemed very happy that a pilot landed a plane. It open up so many possibilities now. I would enjoy the person to person contact you experience
@@APilotsHomeI did not hey your name. You made some daring flying manouver to test an un-tried runway. You later landed that Pilatus aircraft flawlessly You're a strong brave soul. May God be your co-pilot at all times. Praying all your take off(s) and landings are safe. I felt like I was in the cockpit flying with you. You also brought joy and happiness to the village people connecting them to the outside world. Thank you. Godspeed. Amen.
Great vidseo, great storytelling dan great pilot. Walaupun tidak pernah ke Papua tapi Captain telah bawa kami kesana. Thank Yoo Cap for the video, love from Sarawak Malaysia. Please come to Sarawak
This is an awesome video. My father was offered a job for Philips to work there in 1959. My grandmother who was indonesian said not to go because she was afraid my parents will be eaten. So my mother refused. Otherwise I would have been borne there in 1960. I am dutch but I can speak Bahasa Indonesia. When he talked Bahasa to you I understand, but he also talked native language. I am looking forward to Part 2. Sampai berjumpa lagi, pilot.
Man, you do a magical job. I have been watching movies on UA-cam for many years and your films are some of the most exciting and true. You're a big lad! Thank you!
APilots Home , Good morning. It really takes a lot of pilot skill to land on a runway like this. Any mistake will overtake the runway and disaster is certain, just as when touching the runway it cannot be with too much impact because it could damage the landing gear. Excellent landing !
Hi from the UK. what an awesome video. Our runway is 300 meters at out airfield, but it's flat. fantastic stuff. The people look so grateful. Thank you for sharing.

Wow brave indeed , highly innovative community. I came from that livelihood where material is of non essential. Thatched roofs. there is no electricity, no water supply. Life revolves around finding food on daily basis.
I remember that many years ago around 1965/6 I went on a demo flight in one of these Pilatus Porter aircraft as we were flying downwind the pilot ask DF Malan, Cape Town, RSA tower for permission to begin his landing 2000 feet over the apron, permission was granted, well right above the apron he went vertical and I was left hanging in the harness when he threw her into reverse pitch and slicked the plane right onto the start of the runway. Needless to say they had to use a long lever to brake the vacuum to free me from the seat.
Hey Colin! As a saffa myself I loved your story and thanks for sharing it! Indeed these Pilatus can do an extremely steep descent. Most ppl will be caught by surprise and won't believe the Porter will make it. Keep well!
I think this is your best video, although it's difficult to choose one, they're all amazing 🙌🏻 the most expressive for sure. I guess being used to that kind of welcomes is a key for your job 😂

Me too, I had to pause it after that first scene of the whole village coming to meet him, it was a bit overwhelming to be honest.
I can’t imagine how excited people on land were!!!
