Very informative video . Now we all have a very good understanding of what is involved in the dual battery conversion . Thanks Gator, Keep up the good tech videos. And always wear your helmet!
Thanks, great video. I will be ordering the five star in spring and will definitely get this conversion kit. I want to keep away from a motorcycle-y look so will not upgrade the fork or headlight. I have a competitors bike now but am looking very forward to getting an E-CELLS
I believe you should also mention that both batteries should be at or near the same voltage. If one is low charge and the other is high, there is going to be a very rapid charge/discharge as the two try to balance out.
We definitely recommend charging both batteries and using them simultaneously on all of our dual battery models. For this video we just did a quick check to make sure the installation was successful and both batteries provided power.
It's better then the toolkit your car comes with. But, if you're commenting here, you're probably going to want to buy a few things extra. When I let the air out of my back tire, I took the pin out of the tire. Sure, I could press the pin down, and squeeze the tire... That's tiring. I took the pin out of the valve. That's the pin that holds the air in. (Kits are dirt cheap on AMZ.) I also bought an electric pump. Used to carry it with me, but I don't anymore due to weight. If I have a real problem, the kit has a pump. I used to carry a spare inner tube too..

Great vid,very helpful
12:39 The cable tie to secure the battery connections together like that is a great idea. It's something I'd never considered.
I will definitely be doing this when my 5star arrives thanks so much for your great video! Ecells all the way

Great job!!! Can we simply remove the rear fender if we want to because we like the look...will that affect anything?
Yes, you can remove it.
What is inside the tool kit from e cells? Video on that?
The tool kit includes a small air pump, tube patch kit, a multi tool with screwdrivers, Allen keys, and sockets, and several different size wrenches.
