I discovered your UA-cam videos recently and they are so detailed, inspirational and helpful. Thank you very much for them. I've learnt a lot from you in such a short time.
In September, 2020, a kiltmaking company in Scotland reached out to partner with me. They want to produce garments and accessories in my most recent tartan: 'Brothers and Sisters of Paramedicine'. I currently don't have a portfolio website, or printed portfolio. Also, I don't know the first thing about partnerships or collaborations.
I have the mockup video on my channel already - please search "Oksancia mockups" to watch it. Also, I use Adobe Illustrator and sometimes Photoshop mockups from Creative Market for that. Thaks!
Thank you! I am planning on studying textile at a university in the U.K is there anything else that I need aside from my student records and designs? I know that different universities require different portfolios but in general terms will I only need those? Should I use spoonflower to request my designs to be on fabric?
Thanks Oksancia! Very helpful video! I'd love to know more about how to manage Instagram as portfolio to look professional even though I'm just starting. And how do I know when my patterns have enough "level" to start selling them and create a website. Many thanks for all your super helpful videos! 💖🙏✨
Thank you! I like your videos very much! Maybe you said it but I am not sure, but do you have a list of websites as spoonflower where I can upload my designs?
Thanks for this video Oksancia, very helpful. I have about 35 repeat pattern designs and looking to start uploading on Spoonflower etc, do I put watermark on the designs first before uploading on the websites please?
Glad you liked that video :) No, do not put your watermark on your files that will be printed for customers (any print-on-demand or microstock websites). Only on your portfolio, social media work.
Great job working on your patterns! Actually, please take a look at my Pattern It Up online course where I teach how to create vector patterns correctly to pass the exams for the websites + my unique fast pattern creation system and how and where to sell your designs online and much more :) oksancia-textile-design-studio.teachable.com/p/pattern-it-up-beta

Hello there! :) thank u for your tips, I am just beginner - doodling here and there, wondering if there is any software to try creating some pattern except adobe products? patterns catch my attention all the time :) and wanting to say that I love colors in that pattern behind you on the wall, I assume it is your work :) really nice palette ♡
Many thanks, dear Denissa! Yes, it's my acrylic painting :) I only use Adobe Illustrator for my vector pattern designs as all of my design customers needs the files from Adobe formats for professional printing. It is an industry standard. Hope this helps :)
You are very welcome :) I draw either directly in Illustrator with my Wacom tablet, or sketch on paper first, or sometimes on my iPad Pro Adobe Draw app.
Thank you for watching! Did you find this tip helpful? Comment and let me know so that I make more videos for you that you want to see :)

Hi Oksancia, did you mention from your other video that it's cheaper to order 30 fabric samples of designs on a yard from Spoonflower please?
Yes, it was very interesting. I have made a lot of patterns. I haven't put them on sale yet though. Do you know of a good online design school?
