    Lin Dan said he studied vids of Jorgensen before this match and despite losing the first set, learnt a lot from the loss. He has a habit lately of losing the first set and winning the next two in recent matches. Hence he knew what tactics to adopt to take out Jorgensen. He will be hard to beat if he gets to the final.

      Lin Dan always use the first game to analysis opponents and then beat them easily later.

    To know Lin Dan you must understand that if you beat him 21-10 in the first game, he will beat you 21-9 in the second game. he's phenomenal.

    1:11:56 LD is making a statement - "haters better watch out, cos you can't beat this old man yet."
    The commentators thought this was an odd match 49:46 51:41. I don't think so at all. I think LD deliberately threw the first game, which is so clever because he knew it would have been ineffective to go up against the full power of Jorgensen, and conserved energy for the subsequent games. When Jan was more tired, only then did LD start mounting the assault.
    And that's what makes LD a true *grandmaster* - a title that even LCW does not deserve. As they both age, LCW still relies on physicality, while LD is becoming a brilliant tactician and strategic mastermind, having the courage and mental willpower to play like this *knowing that his opponent was physically stronger and fitter than him.* 3:46 Gill Clark: "the word legend is overused in sport, but not when you refer to Lin Dan."

    • @DATWHITEASIAN

      Agree, LD would usually focus on his placement making his opponent run around

    • @jpohbw
      @jpohbw 8 років тому +6

      +Mens xx i dont think that he purposely lost the first set like what poignancy....its more like hes only in his first gear, and altho he can go up to second he chose not to so as to conserve strength, altho his first gear was enough to give most players alot of trouble...and also as he gets older he needed more time to warm up and get into the game as well...abit of both of strategy and physical limitations....just my opinion ofc

    I don't know how in today's technology we can't isolate the badminton game from the the loud cheering and action form other courts. In the Olympic 2012 all I could hear were the shots and the commentary. Now 4 years later, the video and sound quality have gone down since 2012?

    the commentators are just too dumb.. they should go and challenge lin dan themselves.. they keep wanting jan to attack more. jan will get tired too he cant be attacking the whole time. he has to get into good position to attack to be effective and furthermore lindan defence is good. he might get into trouble if he just attack aimlessly.
