Its Atlanta, this things are regular. I used to live in Atlanta, now living in suburb. Couple of months ago, me and my friends went to midtown and parked the car in the open parking area and someone broke the rear window. Funny thing is that there is nothing inside the car, still they broke it.

There are so many theft cases in CA that they don’t have police funding to do work on it..
Not just in USA but in Canada as well even worse in Montreal and GTA area just N America problem.
This is quite common in N America. When i go there, i make sure that none of my expensive personal items are inside the car and also not even an empty polythene bag.
Even if it is inside then i try to hide it in car's DIGGY so that it won’t be visible to theif/mad people as just to see what 's inside the item is, they can anytime break the glasses of my car. (even in busiest street parking)
Its like it in only high crime cities like Atlanta or Chicago

I had the same experience THRICE in the US, twice in LA and once in San Francisco. Went through a similar experience changing the windscreens once in the front and other time the rear windscreen - Moral of the Story: Never leave anything visible in a locked/parked vehicle! :-/

Harnoor dear you should consider mooving to Staten Island NY which is a well kept secret Safest Subarb of New York.
Staten Island is a nice green subarb known for its lovely green parks nice residential neighborhoods, definitely Safer than Brooklyn and Queens and the Bronx.
We have the Staten Island ferry which is free and takes you to Batery Park in Manhattan’s from where you can take buses etc to any part of Manhattan. It is also close to NJ where you could take the Gothels bridge or OuterBridge to get over to NJ full of our Desi community as you know.
Staten Island has a large Desi Community Indians SriLankan Pakistanis.
There are lovely Hindu Temples here Gurudwara and Masjid.
All the Indians here are mostly Professionals in most fields with nice families. The Public Schools here are better in South shore and there are many good Catholic schools that many Indian send thier children too.
The Positive about Staten Island is rents are cheaper than Manhattan’s and the local MTA Buses are available everywhere also have local trains for just the Island.
All the shopping is available Star bucks, dining is great from Italian to Mexican to Continental to even nice Indian restaurants and even Indian grocery store besides all the regular grocery chains banks hospitals really everything.
You are a Newyorker with Subarban safer life and have access to Brooklyn Manhattan and NJ at the same time. People commute into all three of these place for work etc on a regular basis. No everyday “chori” like this.

I'm a senior in the US, and I'll make it simple for SAT and college applications, it is going to be very difficult. For SAT as an international student you need at minimum 1510, and your college application and essays have to be university level, like american university level writing and word choice. ChatGPT won't help here. I would really recommend going to university in India cause US universities rarely, if at all give aid international students.
