I recommend you watch the TV-series from Norway called "Occupied". Can find it on Netflix I think. It's about an alternative timeline if you will, when Russia invades Norways to make sure that they do not stop producing oil and replace their energy production with a new form energy plant (which they do as step towards a "greener future"). This affect the world finance and industry and EU and the US does not come to Norways aid as Russia takes action against them. Parts of the government, military and civil society resist them both with politics and military action while the other part bends their neck for their new Russian overlords. IMO a well made and realistic series. Maybe review the trailer or parts of the series otherwise I recommend it for your private viewing pleasure. :) Great channel you have, keep it up!
If you have free time, I would like to recommend Nedsläckt land. A Swedish reality show about what happens when two groups of people suddenly have no electricity for a undisclosed time. There are expert comments and I think the reactions are very realistic. I think it does a good job on reflecting the Swedish psyche.
Climate change will make lots of people move, that will make the political stability change. Like make water levels higher so LOTS of people need to change, as their homes are under water. And lots of food manufacturing will change. So, yes, Climate change has a military impact. And military should be concerned about it. As you already are worried so you want this wall. USA military studies the phenomenom since end of WWII.
The military in Sweden have to help the Swedish population wether it is a invasion, terror attack or natural disaster. Storm and forrest fires included
Better put on some lip stick, paint your nails and slip into those red, sexy high heels. I'm sure the enemy will drop their jaws and stop invading and laughing themselves to death!
Not entirely correct. They do not "have to", but they are used as a recourse due to the simple fact that they already have the infrastructure to deal with extreme situations. But they can NOT be used in terror attacks, doing any kind of police work. Remember the disastrous event in Ådalen where military fired upon civil citizens. Since then, military can not be used to anything but situations that deals with national security and military interests that supersedes ordinary civil and criminal law. Even in events like the JAS crash in central Stockholm, the military involved was the Military Police. Specially trained unit that works as security force to guard military interests in the civil society. No other unit is to be used in such an event, mostly because they have no authority unless there is any type of war or warlike emergency declared. Just look at how the US reacted when former clown ... sorry I mean Potus T.rump, got when he tried to use military to suppress the uproars and civil unrest in several major cities 2019. A democratic government can not per definition use military power against it's own population. When they do, it's called a military dictatorship or military state (step above a police state). Examples of this is Burma, Thailand and others. I'm sure any US citizen could explain more how their laws regulate this, but as far as I have learned, it's basicly the same. Military deals with threats from outside, police deal with domestic.
This wasn't made by the swedish military, it was made by Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap (Office of societal protection and preparedness) and was aimed at preparing civilians for what would happen if a conflict occured.
Not really correct. It is released by the Swedish armed forces. MSB (Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap) released the pamphlet called "If the crisis or war comes" a couple of years ago though.. Things have changed from "If" to "when"..

This is the quality you should expect when trying to educate people. Clear facts, analysis, coherent storyline. No commercial breaks or dramatic music. Alarming topic but still nice to watch.
Disagree with the lack of "dramatic music" - you may not have noticed, but whenever there is reference to "climate change," there's an ominous background track. Mood music is designed to do one thing: put you in a certain mood - in this case: dread.
@@ericthered760 It doesn't really alarm me, though. What alarms me about climate change is the thought of the Arctic waters becoming too warm and thereby disabling the Atlantic pump and for the Gulf stream to falther. The thought of what impact that would have can litteraly keep me up at night. The resulting problems from a huge amount of desperate environmental refugees are a close second.
@Corps of Royal Marines We have to agree to disagree. People can live loving, moral and productive lives without believing in gods. In fact, a lot of actions that hurt other people and the planet are excused as part of religion. First, make sure our children and grandchildren has a sustainable home.
Speaking from a Norwegian perspective, we've been involved with this on all fronts, for a long time. The reason why Finland also made a very similar thing is that Sweden and Finland now are military allies, with joint operations, excercises etc. Finland and Sweden have a very long history together, and share the Baltic Sea. Producing similar "propaganda" in our two contries is not so strange, but in line with current politics.
@@arcticblue248 Correct. We now have a signed "treaty" that ensures the Scandinavian sovereignty, so to speak. We've had collaboration between the nordics through Nordefco since 2009. Sweden and Finland are indirect members of NATO through Norway, which makes it even stronger, not that we need NATO per say. But still.

There are also a series of videos on Denmarks presence in Artic, as Denmark / Greenland are very impacted. There was a question on China and Greenland. Given Greenland is a self governing part of Denmark, the Chinese have or have had several projects to gain access to the resources paid by a build out of the infrastructure. Greenland has around 56.000 people and no real infrastructure. The Danish military keeps a presence in Greenland and there are discussions on how to increase the presence. Look for Arktisk Kommando, Sirius Patruljen, Inspektionsskib, Mission Mestervig or Station Nord to find additional information. Most of it in danish though. Mission Mestervig is pretty interesting.
@@danstergaard8864 I do not think they meant buying, but if we need to ask about if there are US bunkers on Greenland, Denmark would now better than Sweden.
The film has nothing to do with the Swedish government or the Swedish military. It's made by an independent journalist - Melker Becker. He specializes in Culture, hard rock and old military installations and equipment as a producer and TV presenter. He has made many interesting programs about the Swedish vehicles of the Cold War and at that time secret bases which are now more closed. So it's a personal program about the future regarding things that exist in open sources. An independent part of the Swedish military is called the Civil Defense. Among other things, the fire brigade, police, hospitals, civilian emergency stockpiles sort as fuel, medicine and food. Now during Covid-19, some of the disaster hospitals have been taken out of storage and set up, if the normal hospitals were not enough. It has now been shown that the biggest shortage has been staff (doctors and nurses).
Except it's posted on the Armed Forces youtube channel, so some sponsorship is required. Han lägger upp dem på Försvarets youtube-kanal, samt att han gjort andra serier för dem

Russia have been a bit suspicius towards us nordic counrtys lately. The Russian company Nordstream that put some kind of gas fuel in the baltic sea (Östersjön) The Russian company wanted to use a harbour in Gotland, that island is extremly strategic for the control of the baltic sea.
What's so suspicious with trying to use ports in Gotland for a project which goal is to double already existing amount of natural gas pipelines? Nord Stream is a consortium between European and Russian energy companies. Only thing that is questionable is how the project benefits/hurts Sweden if Russia makes economic gains. European countries that are against the project(three Baltics states and some Post-soviet countries) are stand to lose income from reduced transit via their pipelines if Nord Stream 2 is successful.
The abandoned Greenland base in the 60s was a secret project in the sense that the US was given permission by the Danish to build a base there, but the they were not allowed to have nuclear weapons there. They dug a nice base under the ice and even put a nuclear powerplant there. But ice is not stone or concrete. Ice will move. Crawl, slither and creep this way and that. So it was in Greenland as well. And in a panic almost, they had to remove the powerplant again or risk it being crushed. They informed the Danish because they needed help with something I can't remember. Danish were furious. If I recall correctly, everything was still in a test-phase when they dismantled the base. The powerplant was functional but not the one they intended to actually use in the end. I'm uncertain if the missiles actually were delivered.
For anybody interested in arctic power politics, check out the Thule incident. Greenland is self run, but is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and shares a lot of legislation. Technically, nuclear materials are not allowed within Danish borders, including Greenland, but the US definitely has a presence there anyway - Politicians on both sides made some deals under the table!
It’s a little Strange to listen til Sweden talking about the Artic and Greenland. Greenland is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark - I live ind Denmark. The nuclear base is not fake but I’m pretty it’s closed down now. Like Sweden we Danes watch the Russians with concern. Before the end of the Cold War Denmark was planned to be nuked by the Russians because we can block the Russian Baltic Fleet.
@@JamesonsTravels I’m sure you know officially Sweden is a neutral country. But in reality they are very close to be a member of NATO. Our troops together with US and other have joint manouvres. There is very close bonds between Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
+Palle. It is because of possible Nordic Alliance besides Nato. The fear is that if something big or hybrid breaks out. Nato will not come to the rescue of the North strait away or at all depending on the situation. Melting ice means several combined Nordic issues might happen that individual Nordic nations might not be large enough to handle themselves. Therefor one does a combined effort on all tasks. Norwegian ships patrolling Greenland territory, Nor special forces training to do mission on Gotland or Swedish ships in the Northern sea, combined reaction forces in border areas between Nordic and Russian territory etc.

The Swedish military has been dismantled more or less completely during the last 30years since the end of the Cold War. Slowly, as the geopolitical climate has changed, so has the view on the need for a military force to count on. Now we are upping our forces, but starting more or less from scratch it is a timely procedure.
But you have to remember that the dismantling was somewhat resonable becuse it was so outdated. The best thing would have been to upgrade it through the years tho.

One big difference from WWII in North America is that the populations have gravitated to the cities and our agricultural and industrial bases have dwindled a lot in the past 75 years. This means people rely heavily on large food chains with supply line that can be disrupted and then as most people don't even have gardens nor the proper skills to look after themselves this would create problems that would be more acute than what was seen in WWII I think. The military aspect is one thing and individual firepower as well. But sustaining a mid to long term conflict for the populations is another and traditionnally Canada and USA have been the ones helping others but would anybody come for us?
As a Swede I believe this is propaganda to remove focus from other things that is the real threat to Sweden, war is not one of them and neither are climate change.
Agree. The real problem at least now and in the long near future is something/someone else that the swedish government keep letting in and do nothing about . But yeah the war in the Arctic area can and properly will for sure be real but properly first in the long distance future.
The video already alluded to migration streams due to the impact of climate change being one of the security threats. It will likely be dealt with in a different episode of the series. The first I heard of climate change was from a USN meteorologist, Lt. Cmdr. Joseph Bishop. When Adm. Gary Roughead became CNO, he formed the Climate Change Task Force. After a few years of research, the Task Force determined that global climate change was creating potential security problems for the United States by a) melting glaciers creating more polar harborage and sea lanes for enemies, and b) rising sea levels that would render some US strategic bases virtually useless. The findings of the Task Force were published in various issues of the USNI Proceedings, notably the March, 2009 issue. So, the US Navy has taken the issue of global warming seriously. After Adm. Roughead retired, he became a research scholar for Stanford's conservative Hoover Institution (along with Condoleeza Rice and George Schulz). He continues to research security implications of climate change.

The important thing here is that problems with the climate will shift the areas of fertillity. Our civilizations have mainly been built around arable land with fresh water easily avaiable. When the climate changes we will see rain and drought cycles change with it. In some places it will be significant changes. That in turn will lead to conflicts over resources. When people are famined or run out of water we are likely to have great unstabillity and potentional conflict. The problem is real and affects more than one first would think about.

@@mattematsson554 You are projecting if you believe that the military are sharing your proclivities.

The entire matter I found very thought provoking. Shifted my global conflict flags to another area.
@@JamesonsTravels I’m sure you know officially Sweden is a neutral country. But in reality they are very close to be a member of NATO. Our troops together with US and other have joint manouvres. Denmark do the air policing over Danish territory but sometimes Danish Air Force react faster that Swedens own air force and have stopped russian fighter planes over Swedish territory. There is very close bonds between Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Any conflict that involves denmark is likely to spill over to Sweden as well. Don't see it as very strange at all.
For DK and Norway, Russia is friends.

As for criminality in Sweden-hardly a military problem. As you know great investments are being made to expand the military as well as the police, so to say the government is neglecting problems is rather ignorant, but it will take time and we have time.
@@k.j.hulander2204 best of luck.
@@jarlfisk I won’t need luck against a non-existing threat to national security. But why don’t you go ahead and describe what this threat is? Also, since-to use your own words-this is a real problem now, I assume you’re doing your patriotic duty and actively work to combat this threat? Irl that is, not behind your keyboard...
@@k.j.hulander2204 so you're telling me you know nothing about the Muslim problems in EU or in general throughout history. Very interesting video. Thank you sir!
Thank you for saying what you did about climate change. Far to many people listen to those in power that hammer the fear of climate change and collect massive profits in doing so.

Getting huge Fallout Vibes from the Arctic Part.
There is no “regular” weather of earth. The processional clock is ticking and along with it the weather changes. In the end I don’t care. Our government made me that way.
No but the climate changes really fast, which does not happen naturally. Plus the climate changes along side Corbin emissions, if anyone the oil companies and gas etc is fooling you. Not the government.

Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
the swedish goverment has already the white flag ready, dismantling the swedish army in the 90.s and taking in 3 miljon non skiers which only lives on wellfare checks, onother
thing - sweden has many generals and high-ranking military but very, very few soldiers .
Then it's good that the right wing party increases and will become the biggest soon. And that our military spending from 2020 will increase with more then 40% and that conscription is back again.
@@zoom5024 yes i agree but, why taking in 1 miljon non skiers every 10 year and have them o vote for the socialdemoctats and give them a neverending rule over sweden?
i am glad that i dont pays 1 singgle cent on the parasit,s though i live in sweden
As of right now 20% of the "Swedes" are not actually Swedes, but first generation immigrants born outside of Sweden. That number has doubled in the last 20 years. This number does not include all of the second generation immigrants who grew up in Sweden with a non-Swedish, foreign upbringing.
Frankly I think we're done for it, unless we start to mass deport them. In another 20 years we will be a minority in our on nation.
@@iwantlee9510 i agree 100% but the voting system is corrupt, probobly more corrupt than USA, i am just waiting for the right moment , then its going to burn . nowadays i am never forget, never regret
@@iwantlee9510 well it's all immigrants that's 20% of the pop as far as i remember and that includes finns and eastern european and balkan too.
Your military is already considering climate change as a global threat to security. For many many years now. The Pentagon sees it as the biggest issue on the list. So i'm not sure why you dont know this yet and why climate can’t be a military concern.
Much respect for our (Swedish) armed forces, but they must remember that internal civilian clothed combatants are not playing nicely with the rules.
Yes, especially those traitors who recive Russian support and training.
that girl holding that 120 sabot round on cover of video caught my attention lol
She's a legend. One of the fastest tank gun loaders in the Swedish army ever.
React to all episodes please!💯
My uncle was stationed in Thule Greenland. Don't think it was to see the polar bears tho as he was a missile specialist.
Urdy gurdy ,mad max, Urdy gurdy ,Kevin Costner, lol my sides are hurting, ( I'm not being anti Swedish) it just sounds funny to me because I don't speak Swedish.
I remember the Y2K bug I was part of the security team that responded in my city to all the communication antennas and City Hall while the system rebooted at midnight there was a lot of people a lot of commotion
Not sure what - and if - the Swedes are active in the Northpole/Greenland region but I can tell you that Denmark is very much so. Greenland is a part of the Danish realm, and as you know the US have a base there, Thule. Try spend Six months there in total darkness! However to patrol and establish a constant presence in all of Greenland, Denmark have the Sirius-patrol, who patrol all around the coast of Greenland. Even furtherst north in -40 degrees. On dog sleighs, in two man teams, I believe. Maybe something for you to look into in a future video.
Sweden should stop worrying about climate change and begin learning Arabic.
LOL. They are already speaking Arabic in Swedistan.
@@adelarsen9776
The second most common mother tongue after Swedish in Sweden in 2016 was Finnish. May have changed because Sweden has received some Arab speakers since then.
But in 2016 it was 8'000'000 with Swedish, Finnish 200'000 and Arabic 155'000.
@@henrikl4244 Native Swedes like most European Nations have rapidly falling birthrates while the Arab immigrant birthrate is soaring . Just a matter of time .
@@disgustedvet9528 What's your deal with Arabs in the first place?
@@henrikl4244 Thank you Henrik. The rate they multiply means by 2050 Sweden will be an Arab Caliphate. Plenty of places in Sweden already where Islam rules and the police don't go. So sad. Sweden used to be so great.

This is how the Fallout Series becomes reality
Now three years later.. and ooh boy are things developing.
The biggest thing with the arctic is that, due to climate change, it is soon going to be able to have ships carry cargo in the summer making it a huge trade route.
Glaciers been growing. Following the climate change trends of history we should be getting another Ice age like in the 1100s and then 1700s had.
Will? It already has... Just look at Syria. That conflict was kicked off by a drought and depletion of their aquifer, causing roughly 80% of their livestock to die...

Very interesting video and topics. Yes Sweden has already begun to strenghten is defense. Re activating 6 regiments, buying off the shelf weapon systems such as Patriot missile systems and joint military exercises with special forces such as Delta Force on the Island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea.
I need to find a fair reporting press to keep up with this. very interesting.
That installation in Greenland has been abandoned for decades, because of shifting ice, it was unstable.
