I'm so new to all this, I just joined the farm simulator game this week and I'm addicted.. I was looking into farming grapes, your video made it look super easy to do (except for the purchase of vehicles and such lol).. Thanks so much :D
Hey man! Thanks for these videos. I just found your channel and you describe everything perfectly. Thank you so much. I know very very little in regards to actual farming so I need these videos haha. Keep it up please!!!
I know you vaguely hinted at it but it's important to note that you do not need to prune olive vines after harvest like you do with grapes so that's one less piece of equipment to have to buy and one less job you have to do yourself. On a side note, I was wondering if you could hook up a second pruner on the rear of the tractor and prune two vines at once... I think I'll have to go experiment with that. A tip too if you want to cheese the system a bit is that you can take your product to a production place and sell it to make a few bucks then turn around and buy the production place immediately and all the product you dropped off will be sitting in the production place meaning you got paid for a load that you were going to drop off anyways and essentially get paid twice for that product. It can be pretty significant too, I saw someone take three or four semis full of wheat and barley and sell them at the grain mill which gave them the $90,000 they needed to purchase the mill and then they turned around and sold the flour for well over $100,000. That's not something I would do personally but it is an option if you feel like you want to jump start your move into the production chains.
might work, unless its one way only. i noticed some equipment when using AI it complains its on the wrong side, so it might happen for vines also, even when its you driving, it wont work cause its the wrong side.....
I guess grapes are a nice addition but the whole placing them Is a pain especially in a straight line. Would've preferred the way it was in fs19 with the ishica map that came out where you can plant them. And the harvester constantly getting stuck on the vine is annoying. Definitely need a course play or GPS mod for this
I've found that if you use your HUD compass (PC "9" Key) this tells you your current heading in degrees AKA "F9" and set the angle (on square fields) to 0°, 180°, 90°, or 270° this allows you to get perfectly straight rows.
I found, when I "planted" the vines, it was easier to get them straight if I had a straight edge to plant them along. I don't think they ended up perfectly straight, but straight enough to be able to use guidance steering to do all the work.
nice tip for the game. but not the real deal if you are into keep it realistic. the sprayer, as far i know, is not really fertilizing, but is actually a bug sprayer, to prevent pests and diseases in the vines. spraying them like that helps the "treatment" get deeper in the vines since the air forces the leaves to open more and the liquid get more inside the vines, opposite to a regular sprayer where it would just drip down the easiest path it could find, not covering as much of the vines as its intended.
Very cool to see grape farming in game. I live and grew up in north east pa where grapes are most farmers main crop with the Welch's plant in town. Would like see more options for the harvester bc our harvester don't carry the grapes with them another tractor with wood or metal bins drive in the next row and they go right from the harvester to the transport bins
DONT USE SMALL SPRAY USE THE BURTHOUND SPRAYER LEAVE A 2 BLOCK GAP BETWEEN ROWS OF 6 ON THE OUTSIDE AND 12 IN THE MIDDLE IT DITS PERFECTLY... so much faster
Placing these is an absolute pain. Can't get any form of snap at all and the process can be cumbersome. Still a cool new feature to the game but I hope Giants gives us a snap option soon.

It makes me appreciate and ponder the thought processes and engineering of the inventors behind these neat machines. One question, though. I've read up on some of this before trying in an Elmcreek game save I've been playing for a while, and have seen people saying that the vines and collisions persist after selling/demolishing the vines. Do you know if this bug is still persistent?
You can remove vines you have placed yourself using the demolish tool, but I'm not sure if vines are pre existing on a map if it's possible. that may have to be done in Giants Editor

I don't mean to hijack your comment thread here, but could anyone tell me what I'm missing? I have grapes, but can't cultivate them. I've tried two complete cycles now, and I can't cultivate them. I "planted" the vines, mulched after first growing stage, tried to cultivate right away, and in the next growth stage, fertilized, harvested, and pruned. @@TheFarmSimGuy real world usage its a fan sprayer to spread chemicals. You can add aspects of fert to it. But thats not what its for. Ull be spraying fungicides and pesticides at intervals depending on the spray and after weather events when outbreaks of diseases and bugs will hit hardest. Im not a grape grower but id imagine in a season they are spraying 2-5 times. The fan sprayers also have independent controls to turn one or the other side of jets on, so irl you would do both sides of the vine. And i doubt you would be travelling at 15kmh. Given its a small bush and they put out a fair bit of product. But it would be tough to control rates and get good application at those speeds. But, it is a video game. Just think the fruit aspect needs mods, many mods to get it to atleast a decent semi sim standard. 🙏🏻
@@atheosxgaming just commented about the same thing above. not only is a pesticide/fungicide products sprayer, but also the air venting into the vines helps its leaves spread better and the product reach more of the vine. mentioned it since someone said he was using the normal fertilizer ingame and "spraying from above in a wider area" lol... but as you said, its a game, people will find some "cheats" to the game mechanics lol. :p

also, there is something in the game that caught my attention. dont know if it was the way @The Farmsim Guy had the time set, but harvesting in january is way off the real deal. in my country i dont know when preparations start, but they are harvested in september. we do corn harvest during the end of summer time (july/august i believe), tomatoes during august/september, and grapes in september.
we also do lots of potatoes, peas, strawberry (which rarely go into greenhouses in my country, just a plastic covering the ground to keep it warm), melons, and in the area i was born they also do lots of rice plantations (this could be a nice new fruit type for next game lol).
Love the Intro to the video, but grapes and Olives are a pain in my ass lol. I hate I have to Harvest them myself... Painful. Is there a way to get a helper to harvest them? 🤔
No becuase of the collisions on the vines the helpers aren't smart enough
Ok so now that they're planted, how do I remove them if I want to clear the field?
Use the demolish button in the build menu 👍
How can I speed the growth time ?
Turn season off and reduce months to 1 day 👍
I found that if you go backwards it works
What yield effect is there if you use AI for mulch/cultivation and it doesn’t get completely against the vine?
I’ve had zero luck using the AI it keeps getting stuck on he vines
How’d you delete them?
In the build mode hit the demolish button 👍
@@TheFarmSimGuy what button is this in farm sim 22?
@@maeglim It's the red button that says Demolish.
that strongman mod doesn't work on my game... is there certain keybind where you can activate it ???
No, I just installed it and it worked
Very helpful video, but i have a issue with the factoryes. I placed grapes there and 10h IRL time and farming time 15x, it only have produced 14liters of Grape juice, and in the storage i have 2000l of grapes. Any solutions?
Do you have it on storage or distribution? it may be using them in another production you have ?
@@TheFarmSimGuy Grape Juice is for "storing"
@@TheFarmSimGuy maybe its slow, because i have bought my own grape factory from the building menu, and not the one in the map
Yeah that does seem very slow, as you saw in my video it didn;t take as long as it has for you, Maybe try with the grape factory on the map to compare?
@@TheFarmSimGuy Yeah it's way faster now, when i used maps own grape factory! Thanks for help m8!
They should make the tree planter work for grapes
i don't think its possible to get them closer? I tried like a bugger, but I couldn't get them to be close enough to get 1 pass through :/
Check out my UA-cam vine shorts video
I don't mean to hijack your comment thread here, but could anyone tell me what I'm missing? I have grapes, but can't cultivate them. I've tried two complete cycles now, and I can't cultivate them. I "planted" the vines, mulched after first growing stage, tried to cultivate right away, and in the next growth stage, fertilized, harvested, and pruned.
I thought I just screwed something up to make me nit able to cultivate, but the same thing happened in the next growth cycle.
Any ideas?
Hi Patrik, which map are you on? I wonder if there is an issue with the map maybe
@@TheFarmSimGuy I didn't even think of that. I'm using the Pacific North West map. I'll try it on one of the original maps to see if it makes a difference.
Thanks for the quick reply!
@@TheFarmSimGuy it appears it was the map I used. I tried it in Haut-Beyleron, and it worked there.
I did notice in the PNW map I could drive in the middle of the space between the vines and reach all the way across, and that did not work in Haut-Beyleron. I guess I'll just have to live with it...
Can you store the grapes in a silo?
Some of the multifruit silo mods that have come out now allow you to store grapes
How do you take them down? Can you? I placed some but need to move them
Use the Demolish option in the Construction screen
i cant see a way of doing this. its mad you cant remove them
@@curicrowsity THANK YOU!!
Three deer, roe deer, roe deer, roe deer.
When can I plant them which month
If you look at the calendar there will be a period of the year where you can plant, usually in spring
The maps have on them vines and olive trees already planted from The start or you just have to place them to enjoy these crops?
You have to place them, but as it shows in the video it's very easy
doesn't seem to snap to the edge of the field.
I think you have to run the vine over the edge of the field, interestingly I did it on the vid but can’t seem to replicate it now
@@TheFarmSimGuy after tinkering with the game files i found a way to make it better and made a little video on it ua-cam.com/video/F0WX7sgZoRo/v-deo.html IMO this makes placing vines much easier what do you think?
i came here to see if the ai workers werent working simply because my grapes weren't planted on top of a field. i was unpleasantly suprised that i was wrong.
What map is this
Haut Beyleron
@@TheFarmSimGuy thank you bro
If only they added a Dodge Ram 2500 than this game would be that much better but love this game so far
I don;t think they have the license for Dodge, but I'm sure the modders will sot one soon
"deers" 😅
Map?

grapes dont need to be on prepared soil... was able to plant them on any soil
Im really dissapointed that the worker doesnt function with grapes and olives.
It’s because of the vines needing to have collisions, it would get stuck all the time

There is no actual way to plant them only place them wow even the mod is better
"fertiliser sprayer".... well thats definitely not it at all.
Sorry not sure what you mean?
@@Marcompam Yeah im just hoping mods build on the fruit growing processes and machinery. Its my line of work. Soo why not bring it home to my video gaming haha
