Elizabeth I just listed so many books to order from this video that I think I'll love, thank you for the inspo here! + kudos to how confidently and effortlessly you are in front of the camera! 😊
Alfie is a beautiful soul. Thanks to him I have parented my children in a vastly different way than I was parented myself. Children are important, they have innate wisdom, we are not the boss of them and I say yes to them as often as I can because when I need to say no it is meaningful. I never drag them anywhere they want to go, never make them do chores and YET they are super cooperative, helpful and thoughtful and wise beyond their years. This is the first vlog I came across on 'Books' . I already have one of the books ( you mentioned ) in my collection and wish to read some of the other books recommended.
I was quite sad about the lack of fiction in my life, Time Enough for Love seems like the perfect recommendation for me! Thank you! Also, as a non-fiction afficionado, loved all your descriptions! Looking for book recommendations and I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE FOUND MY WAY HERE. I really love how you described each book it makes me feel so hooked to try all of them.
Thank you. One of your videos inspired me to get a library card and take out some books you recommend. I'm about halfway through the perfectionism book. Sooooo good! Just thought you would like to know that you've made a positive difference in my life 🙂
I hope that as your advising us perfectionists and people in general against discounting their achievements that you can internalize this message in every way as well- I'm sure you have internalized it given how much it has impacted you and brought you to share these kind hearted messages with us, but I hope it reverberates through your view of yourself in what you create as a creator, which you simply are. I hope you can acknowledge that in repeatedly demeaning the absolute art and embodiment of sincerity and passion brought to us through your hard work and creativity that IS your each and every single video, notion template, art in the form of paintings, and your incredible animations for videos which I am always in utter awe of, that these are yes, say the word with your whole chest: creations. That its valid to anticipate people having made it through your entire video- and if they haven't that that's not a statement on the video. Like self worth, I think, I know: every one of your videos has its own inherit worth that I promise you, cannot be taken away or added to by likes, comments, or subscriber numbers. Of course these things can help us or our content feel more praised but the reality is this: the fact that they were created by you, you whose self worth is inherit, and you who felt these were worth uploading and sharing with the world makes it something with a quanta of worth, a packet of undeniable value that cannot change because it is above peoples approval or lack thereof. These are worthy and deserving of being appreciated all the way through, and if they aren't, it's not a statement of its worth- it holds worth to you and that worth it holds to you does not deserve to be at the mercy of other peoples opinions, but of course I know it can provide criticism which can itself be constructive or deconstructive in nature, but also in interpretation of it, which I think may be leaning towards de-structive if your default view may be that you would be surprised if viewers were to make it to some point in your video let alone all the way through the beautiful and insightful journey of soul that it is. Also, I realize this is a bit hypocritical and perhaps ironic coming from me, a viewer (and huge fan mind you) because I- a viewer- am telling you these have infallible worth not contingent on others views of it, but I hope just that you knew this all along and to reassure you that it wouldn't come off as cocky but rather true to the beliefs you share to acknowledge that the default expectation can be that someone would want to hear what you have to share with the world all the way to the end because of its worth, and if they don't, no statement on worthiness of what you had to share has been made. Much much much love, you have helped me and so many people in so many ways, and I hope that you know you'd be helping people more too in taking yourself up in full of what you express such that you don't belittle or lack confidence or pride in yourself and your work. But also, I know the views you share aren't made insincere because of it, if anything it's very appreciated how human you can be with us in showing its a journey and even when you grasp it as much as you do, there is always more of a journey to go, like an infinite game that appears to be a finite one.

I've gone ahead and put all of these books on hold at the library. Elizabeth, what you speak of aligns with my soooul and I'm so thankful I came across this video tonight in this moment.. I've watched your content over the past 2 years however, it's been a minute and you couldn't have showed up at a more perfect time. Thank you for all you do, Elizabeth. Congratulations on your success.
I started to read the algorithms to live by today after your recommendation, it's a tough book feels like I'm back in college 🎓 could you make a summary of it in future videos if possible I love your book recommendation videos the most; I started to read Virginia Woolf after your recommendation ( in a different book - video ) and instantly fell in love with "a room of one's own" Thank you Liz 🖤
Watching most of the videos today for you! Loving them :) I knew you first through Ali and then because i started looking for books and how to start reading but now i like the whole series of uploads you have.
Thank you for the amazing recommendations! I’ve just uploaded my reading list for 2022 and now I’m truly hoping to finish them early so I can add some of your recs 🥰
They all sound so good! Want to read all of them. Also think I will be buying a few of these as Xmas gifts for friends and family so thank you so much for the help with my Xmas shopping ☺️
Thank you….I listened right to the end and have added all the books to my Amazon wish list - think I must be a ‘nerd’ 🤓🤫🧐. I will buy the ‘Smart notes’ recommendation now as it will likely help me with my 2nd brain. Thank you so much for another great, thorough and passionate video. 💜👌🥰
Thank you for great recommendations. I definitely think and read along similar lines to you. I’m starting from the top. I recommend the Hyperion series to you
Finally I found a person who is so similar to me! Thank You I will read those books in the future :) only 2 weeks more and I will be done with my exams (last exams in my med school) ok, probably I will need to pass one of them in September but I'm so tired...
It’s refreshing to see another with very similar tastes. Love Philosophy, science, and psychology. An ex self help junkie, love informative books or stimulating fiction. Most booktubers just read for entertainment which is fine but yea I feel like I am more similar to you haha. You’d probably like Matt Haig’s “The Humans,” recently read that. Currently reading Jeremy Lint’s the Pattern Instinct and the Web of Meaning
Amazing video. I started it thinking I will just take one or two books to my tbr, and I have added all of them. Thanks much for all the recommendations and the short reviews ;)
Glad to see some of my favorite books in this list. Read Mr. Feynman in my teenage years and it changed my relationship with studying in school and learning in general. I would recommend any teens to do the same. "Algorithms to Live by" helps me the way self-help books are supposed to help: how to approach living. I abhor the self-help genre, but if there is a manual for life then this could be one. It works by answering some of the most sought-out questions without being ostentatious or obscure. It's amazing how teaching machines to think and solve our problems can teach us back about living on our own. Every chapter in this book is a gem and worthy to read again and again in one's lifetime. It's just that good to read. I work in palliative care. So, I may be biased but Dr. Mannix's book is a must read for everyone, interested in the field or not. If "Being Mortal" deals with the attitude toward the care at the end of life and "When Breathe Becomes Air" is a memoir of dying, "With the End in Mind" is a personal collection of real stories about people in their last days. Just stories and insight of a physician who has been taking care of dying people for decades. I am aspired to become like her one day, and hopefully help others to do the same. Harry Potter even with its controversy can still be an easy recommendation. The Order of Phoenix is my favorite of the bunch. I don't know if that's because of teenagers-conspiring-in-secret-to-save-the-world or just my tendency to secretly defile authority. The Course of Love is a hard read for me. It's dry like you said. I read it hoping to find love. Instead, I found an exhibition of love with minute narration from a bored museum staff. Clearly not my cup of tea. Should I give it another try though?
It’s like watching a twenty-five minute video on amazing lunch recipes and then right at the end they tell you their absolute favorite recipe is for a dog shit sandwich. Perchance, does that book on smart notes talk about always flicking to the end first to learn if the note-taking process can be avoided entirely? 😂 I’m going to hold on to my dumb notes, though. I do like the look of some of these books. Thanks. :)
Thanks for making this videos. Didn't know that these kind of books do exist in this world. I will definitely read them. Usually i don't comment on any videos that i found on youtube unless and until the content is moving. Keep up the good work😊👍.
Have ever read Bertrand Russell there's a passage that's my favorite .. "Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind."
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.

Thanks for this list, so glad that 4 of my fave books are in your list . Will definitely read the rest. Ciao from Rome 😊
And your speaking speed MashAllah. I reduced the playback speed to 0.75x than it felt normal to me. You're an amazing person. Stay blessed.
I started to read the algorithms to live by today after your recommendation, it's a tough book feels like I'm back in college 🎓 could you make a summary of it in future videos if possible
I love your book recommendation videos the most; I started to read Virginia Woolf after your recommendation ( in a different book - video ) and instantly fell in love with "a room of one's own"
Thank you Liz 🖤
Love her fast speech and passionate intonation ☺️
Always love your book recommendations. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your recommendations. I'll start with rip it up!
Love it when you nerd out. "Time Enough for Love" is outstanding!
You're so inspiring. I don't think I'll ever be able to do all the things you're doing but you're living my ideal life.
Yay, a >20min video about books! "With the end in mind" sounds great!

I absolutely love this video! I'm definitely saving these recommendations for my reading list (and of course, rereading the hp series!)

They all sound so good! Want to read all of them. Also think I will be buying a few of these as Xmas gifts for friends and family so thank you so much for the help with my Xmas shopping ☺️
I'm so excited to read these!!
Loved this video, Liz! It was so genuine and relatable. Getting at least a few of books from this list!
Thank you….I listened right to the end and have added all the books to my Amazon wish list
- think I must be a ‘nerd’ 🤓🤫🧐. I will buy the ‘Smart notes’ recommendation now as it will likely help me with my 2nd brain. Thank you so much for another great, thorough and passionate video. 💜👌🥰
“words have to die if people are to TrueType live”addition truetype
Elizabeth, your hand gestures are so on point it’s almost poetic! - Jasbir from ptya4. Thanks for all your help!
hahaha thank you Jasbir!!! So glad you enjoyed PTYA too 😆😆
Thank you for great recommendations. I definitely think and read along similar lines to you. I’m starting from the top. I recommend the Hyperion series to you
"The Courage to be Disliked" this is to be interesting book to read😃😃 good luck to your reading pleasure😃😃👍👍👍❤❤❤
don’t let them! not by being extra fake happi
Finally I found a person who is so similar to me! Thank You I will read those books in the future :) only 2 weeks more and I will be done with my exams (last exams in my med school) ok, probably I will need to pass one of them in September but I'm so tired...
So many of your books match with my favourites this year! Thank you!
This woman is a thumbnail genius
😂 yes need to get how to Take smart notes! This has been on my list for a while but thanks to you it just got pushed up way to the top!
Wow, amazing the way you describe the books, a very interesting narrative process.
Amazing video. I started it thinking I will just take one or two books to my tbr, and I have added all of them. Thanks much for all the recommendations and the short reviews ;)
Awh thanks for watching Clau!
Me too; “I hate self help books.”
I’ve had reading some books you have recommended for the past few months.
Thank you 🙏
Wonderful, helpful summaries; thank you!
I’m going to hold on to my dumb notes, though. I do like the look of some of these books. Thanks. :)
YAASSSSS to book content! 🤩🔥🙌🏼
Thanks for the vid, so many interesting recommendations I don't know where to start!
:)
Overcoming perfectionism its an obvius for me, but Time Enough for Love sounds really cool
I am only 5 seconds into this video, and I love you and I know I will love this channel!! Book lovers unite!💖🥰
Thanks for making this videos. Didn't know that these kind of books do exist in this world. I will definitely read them. Usually i don't comment on any videos that i found on youtube unless and until the content is moving. Keep up the good work😊👍.
you know how some people u find a little happy/joy and they sabotage it
Thank you, Elizabeth!
Thanks a lot for these recommendations
Have ever read Bertrand Russell there's a passage that's my favorite ..
"Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind."
happy new year !
Clicked because of thumbnail. Stayed because of content. Thanks!
Wow, this was so inspiring. Thanks!
Excellent job 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
