Great to identify that this is serious and important to get the right advise. However when advising people to outsource important that they know that they can outsource the work but they can't outsource the responsibilities. If something happens on your site and you are deemed to have been negligent in delivering your duties then you can and likely will be prosecuted even if you believe you delegated this. The moral of the story? When appointing contractors and consultants do your due diligence and protect yourself legally and contractually to ensure you can evidence that you delivered due care and attention to ensure those you employed were competant and knowledgeable. Also ensure notifiable works has had a F10 completed and submitted to the HSE. It is not rocket science if you educate yourself but a few hours of education and form filling could mitigate some serious risk for you and the project.

Totally agree, my general advice is to start by employing a H&S Consultant/Adviser to ensure that all legislation is complied with
