Skip to 3:24 for the main point.
    Pros:
    1. It's a lifestyle, not a 9-5 job.
    2. Hard work but super rewarding. 6 figure salaries don't come easy.
    3. Lucrative, with some variances depending on which division you enter. Avg $150k/yr.
    4. Meaningful work as the job impacts lives.
    Cons:
    1. Again, it's a lifestyle. 24/7 on call. Not a 9-5 job.
    2. Super tired, especially in the trauma division.
    3. 150/160 reps love their job and want to stay and continue working in the field.

Hi Jacob, I am 68 with 40 yr pharma sales careert with the industry majors. I have listened all your posts. Great energy and meaningful. I know you are type A personality and always on high gear. Could your post or interview other type of personalities in Medical sales. Not everyone is Type A and in my mind any one can develop the skills to be highly successful.

Hey Jacob! I'm currently in an outside sales role (industrial uniforms) and I'm interested in eventually breaking into medical device sales. Which industries specifically were the ones that had closest to a "normal" schedule? (as opposed to being on call, having to go in a midnight or 2am).
I appreciate all the studying you have done and info you are sharing!!

Hey, Pharm sales is pretty 9-5.
But if you want to know the schedule of the job, look at the schedule of the clients. For example, if you are selling to optometrists and dentists, it will be more 9-5. If it is to trauma centers and hospitals, it will be more around the clock.
