Japanese tend to distinguish between idols and artists (a.k.a.: singers). Moona's performance felt a lot more "western" (for lack of a better word to describe it) and really felt apart from all the "cutesy, cuddly" songs that are typically associated with idols.
Artist is like mizuki nana, utada hikaru, sheena ringo category Or in the west like beyonce, celine dion, ariana grande and more. U know the cool "I'm a queen" vibe Whereas idol is Morning musume, akb48, C ute and more. They got the "spread love and happiness" vibe but they can also be cool I know u know the term idol but gave u an example of ppl/group to compare their ambiance
She's too much of a cute comedian to unironically make a cool showing... but she actually very much can steal the show impressively if she goes for the gap moe approach. The real problem is that she'll never do that intentionally because she refuses to accept her comedian traits. There's still a possibility that she might do it by accident trying to unironically force herself to be cool, though.
Pekora isnt the performer type. Her singing is alright and she does have presence, but she can't do the serious stage singer thing. She should stick to being the comedian, at least in that she is world class.
