We chat with Joe Lynn Turner as he discusses how he joined RAINBOW following the departure of Graham Bonnet in 1980 for the recording of 'Difficult To Cure'.
I remember the youngJoe waiting backstage for phone calls on his first tour I would sit and keep him company as we were new to the tour too my boyfriend and I taken on to do photography for the fan club. Great fun gathering lads to play football down in Cornwall staying at the Fowey hotel haunted hotels in Manchester! All great fun memories Melanie x
Thank you for posting this rare interview snippet. JLT is so handsome and super talented... I felt in love with Rainbow because of him and his magical vocals. Its been my favorite band ever since.
Saw Joe in a small venue in Edinburgh, playing an acoustic set. Great voice and a very good guitarist (best was Rainbow hit .. “Stone cold”) Told some wicked stories about his time with 🎸 Yngwie Malmstein 😀
@@vinitones940 eu conheço duas músicas do Slaves and Masters.
When asked, Who was the best Singer in Rainbow, Ritchie Blackmore said: "Joe was the Best singer in Rainbow, i just wished he would stop mincing about on the stage!" 🤘🏻
@@brendannahor1460 Okay - then instead of sending me on a goose chase, since you just saw it, you should be able to find it easier than me. You know the title and everything to search for. So do another RB fan a favor and please post the link - thanx
@WilliamsDad1989 I hope this article with exact RB multiple quotes satisfies your utter disbelief that JLT was considered by RB as best Rainbow singer...
This was back in the day when he was far more down-to-earth than he is now........ I met him almost two decades ago at a small club and he seemed like a really cool guy....... he had actually talked about his wife at the time, who was his second wife, teresa, and from what he had told me, she was his best friend..... what the hell happened? He got involved with this Russian woman and he went off the deep end! All his albums that I had, even the ones with rainbow, gone. I have no respect for him anymore especially what he said about the United states. Take care, and God bless......
Was he bald at this point? When the Stone Cold video came out there was always something off about his hair. I never imagined he was a chrome dome. Hard to believe with all the chicks he was banging (including two of the MTV VJ's) it never came out. ha
Rainbow is Ritchie and Ronnie James Dio!! Sabbath I would say it's ozzys and Dio, Thats just how important Ronnie Dio was and is.🤘. Love Joe and his voice though.
Graham said he left Rainbow because Cozy left and Don Airey said he was leaving before changing his mind. He also said that when the new members were coming in outside of Graham and Roger nobody especially Ritchie were coming to rehearsals. In later years he did say he wished he stayed a bit longer.
Glover is a good dude. Always classy with good humor.

saw this When it aired I was in High School . MTV cut these interviews up and showed bits and pieces for months,
@@BRUTUSPLAC I wish I could see all of them, the whole interview! Very good quality!

Joe is too… a vocalists rock n roll hero !!

Джо Тёрнер классный вокалист и приятный человек, собеседник.
You can hear the New Jersey roots when Joe talks. Not a super strong accent, but it's there.
Joe you are my hero
Meu vocal preferido do Rainbow!
I saw them at Lyon, in the 80s : fantastic!
An excellent vocalist and a darn good wig.
Fantastic live
Essa música Spotlight Kid é uma combinação perfeita de guitarra com teclado. Blackmore gênio, JLT grande cantor no Rainbow e carreira solo
No Deep Purple o JLT também foi sensacional, pena que a passagem foi curta

Straight Between The Eyes is my favorite with Joe.
Joe's got pipes!!!
Absolutely but never ever like the great Ronnie James Dio, NEVERRRR!
The best Rainbow line up. Roger looks like he had a late night or is just started partying haha
Joe👍🔥

I'd like to see those words come out of RB's mouth - link to the video ?? Reference to the article ???

Joe reminds me off Nigel Tufnell in this interview 😅
So this is where Yngwie got "Jet to Jet" from.
JLT the best🤟🧡
Nice wig...

Competition for the most ridiculous wig here.
Competition for the biggest moron of the year in a comment section. You got the prize.

No, Sabbath is Ozzy....Dio was great but Ozzy owns Sabbath.
@@harrycrowe7557 Sabbath is Iommi.
Great to see any singer of eing humble about working for the master unlike Bonnet who, in my opinion, should have stayed, under the bonnet.
