i never tire of hearing that 6-71 spring to life ,, this is one of my favorite engines of all time ,,i own several of them , along with owning a nearly identical bus which i fell in love with 5 years ago , it's a pleasure to drive even for short trips
Never get tired of listening to that Detroit diesel downshift and double clutch to climb hills on the open road. That hound is running in the wind. Stay blessed
It's good to see them old Greyhounds going down the road remind me of whenever I was a kid they would come into town so gracefully going around corners that everybody else struggle I've always liked the way those buses look peace and blessings man thanks for sharing
Great to hear that growling exhaust note from Lenny - I recall the big grin on your face when you installed the exhaust system 😬 Only thing missing was Kelly by your side chatting & offering help.
Riding along with the tone of Lenny during the last 20 mins or so of this video hammered home powerfully how much Lenny was missed by this viewer for certain. I am so glad he is in the process of reemerging with a lot of cosmetic enhancements on the way inside & out.
I hope I can stop in and see you sometime soon. I have a 1971 Gillig School Bus that we are converting to an RV. We are in California so, it’ll be a trip to remember. ✌️🇺🇸
I worked for Continental Trailways in the early and mid 80's as a porter and then freight agent. I remember driving those old Detroit buses every day. We cleaned and serviced them and put them on a storage lot when the drivers needed to sleep. There was a series of sleeping quarters upstairs where they could take time off from driving in Corpus Christi, Tx I also learnt to drive in a 1977 GMC truck with a 6V71 Detroit that would make you death when she was running full out!
I understand or maybe dont understand but can really relate to the attraction for these beautiful old busses. I dont know what is is but there is something romantic and even elegant about them!
Missed you again lol Lenny sounds just amazing would love to put the sound on a usb stick and play it LOUD as hell in my car when I'm driving lol...he sounds awesome with the headphones on
What can you say about Lenny that has not been said many times before. It was a pleasure watching and listening to the sound of the engine as he made quick work of all that you encountered.
@:50 After watching your videos I went out and got my Hercules impact and drill after seeing the work you put them through and still work, and I love them.
great to see lenny back out on the road again! he sounds happy, and i am sure you had a grin or two during the outing! cant believe its been that long since you were out with him!
I said in one of your videos. You make me want to remove the engine in my 2001 Cadillac Deville, replace the head gasket and stop the oil leaks. Well I removed the engine 2 day ago.
Been a while since I been to this channel, but the 671 is hard to beat, It sounds so good when it's slightly surging on startup until it settles, every other engine sounds boring compared to this. It kinda compares to a Hughes MD500 turbine startup if you've ever heard one of those start I highly recommend it, they sound like an Angry Animal waking up, wish I had one. It's the same helicopter in the Magnum PI TV series.
Thanks for the nice ride Scott. It was just like being on board with you guys. Neat how when Lenny was passing near to embankments and such other noise reflective features you could hear the reverberation coming back inside through the open windows, just like being there in person. By the way, I have ridden/driven on a few of the roads you took.
You definitely have more leaf color down there than we had here in eastern Pa. Most of the leaves blew off in gusty winds Good to hear/see Lenny back on the road. Do miss miss Kelly. Subscribed to them the last time you called them out. They have some great songs. Good calls on their bus.
Lenny sounds awesome. Good to see him stretch again. Now that your getting him road ready will he get his Jake breaks and power steering as a gift. 😂.Thanks for sharing Scott.
I thought for sure these days were over. Glad to see you out and about again. Means I might get to see you again. That is if I don’t save up enough $ to get my Wanderlodge up to you. I just took a 1600 mile trip in mine. I saw dozen of Prevost coaches coming South on I75. Figured they had something going on. Im thinking maybe one of them said ‘look a Wanderlodge’ lol. I love the three on the tree! Been a long long time. Drive safe!
One thing I’ve missed on your channel were the road trips and repairs in the field. That’s not to say the bus barn is wrong, I enjoy those videos as well. Nice to see Lennie and y’all back on the road.
Really enjoyed your trip both ways bro with the fall colors out the front windscreen. Can not leave out the beautiful music Lenny was playing. Safe travels. Ken.
HA, I had this same exact thing happen to me.... bought PD4104-3094 home and stalled it at the top of the off ramp... and had to literally drive 10mi home to get my generator and go by advance to get a charger, charged it up there for about 2hours while directing traffic and drove on home.
Just think of all the stories that could be told by former passengers that looked out that same windshield. Have a fine time away from the garage for awhile. Bill
Could listen to that all day Over here in Australia our main brand of coach was Denning I all wase wanted a Denning mono air with a 6v71 Heaps of videos on UA-cam if you’re interested Keep up the good work
I never see you working on any of the old Crown Supercoaches. There were thousands of these across the Western US 40 to 60 years ago - I rode these to and from work out on the Idaho desert at the National Reactor Testing Station (now INEEL). I'm surprised that I don't see many modified into RV buses. They were big, fast, relatively quiet, and fairly smooth riders.
They never really made it past the west coast. While popular on the west coast I’m not aware of any school systems east of the Mississippi ever running any. I have a couple crown videos on the channel. I would love a seated one for my personal collection.
My grandmother when she was still alive used to work at a Greyhound station at the ticket counter. I was just a kid and I got to go up into a scenic cruiser on it's stop. I just wanted to see what it looked like inside so the bus driver took me up there.
Shifter at the wheel! A telltale sign that this bus is REALLY old. But running like a Swiss watch! Plus: even through this rather small windscreen, the landscape is just amazing! Wonder where that is!
@@uliwehner Thanks! Home of the Tennessee Whiskey and Memphis, the "Music City", I presume? Really beautiful, with the leaves changing their colour! Now I understand why nearly all of the German companies have gone South: Mercedes (Tuscaloosa, AL) and BMW (Spartanburg, SC), for instance! Much to the chagrin of the Governors up North.

I was a city bus transit mechanic for 27 years, retired now. I enjoy watching your videos.
Lenny moves along quite nicely , thank you.
Lenny performed flawlessly on his maiden voyage in over 3 years. Time has sure flown by. Can’t wait to see him in his new paint.
I agree. It was great hearing him going through the gears.
I hope one day soon it gets a full restore done to it.
followed for years, that ol bus will really roll for sure! Had me thinking i wanted something similar still cruising my air cooled Westphalia.
That old 6-71 sounds great. I'm sure Lennie is happy to be back on the road.
You can definitely tell fall is there with the turning of the trees. Glad to see Lenny on the road.
Lenny is such a well-sorted bus; he’s a credit to you, sir 🙂 Always a privilege to hear a 6-71 working hard 🤟🏼
i have always been good for an hour ride with Lennie. love every mile thank you!
Lenny running smoothly
ABSOLUTELY------> OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!. 🙂
best service truck on the planet !!!
Great to see Lenny out on the prowl again, looking out for broken coaches and getting you there to fix them 🙂
Remember you and Kelly in the early days, congrats, it all worked well, good moves.
Great to hear that growling exhaust note from Lenny - I recall the big grin on your face when you installed the exhaust system 😬 Only thing missing was Kelly by your side chatting & offering help.
I Rode on a bus like that in 1948, I was 8 yrs. From N.C. to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Good to see, and hear, Lenny out and about again. Awesome scenery everywhere you looked. Thanks for taking us along.
Idk bout anyone else but I absolutely love watching you rip this thing down the rd w the front window view & that awesome engine sound!!!
That old dog will run

Lenny Rocks!
"Haulin Bus"! Bet a Big Smile ear to ear cruising it again. I know I do when out in my 68 Road Runner 4spd going through the gears.
Lenny Baby! That trip bought back many memories. Thanks
thanks for the free day trip it's been a while
Scott, I love the way Lenny howls when you got that Jimmy running up against the governor.....such a sweet sound!

Love looking out the front windshield of Lenny during your travels but miss the mauve trainers resting on the railing. 😉
You guys are lifesavers..really enjoy your channel. ❤
Whewww doggy! That was some drive!
Just found this channel, cannot believe how much I liked the old buses, from childhood days. In my 70’s now and enjoy your video.
awesome!
Seems like its been a while since we went for a ride in Lenny. Good times!
I saw you guys today around 4pm at the 4 way at hwy 100 and hwy 7 intersection..I'm out by the interstate in Dickson..love watching your videos!!!..❤
How did Lenny look? 1st impressions count ;)
Great to see Lenny on the road, the only thing missing was Kellys feet in the windshield. Love it!!
They sure don't make them like they used to. Thanks Scott for taking us along!
Lenny sounds sooooo cool Cheers H ( from UK)
Love the autumn (I’m in Australia) colours. Our trees are mostly evergreen. Nice drive. I’ll have to visit someday.
I used to drive the old Brill Trolley coaches and even a Fageol Twin coach as well. Loved armstronging those monsters around the city.
I do love hearing the engine pull the hill
So great to see Lenny out on the road again, man he sounds good. Nice looking Prevost too.
@:50 After watching your videos I went out and got my Hercules impact and drill after seeing the work you put them through and still work, and I love them.
I use the Hercules tools everyday and keep adding tools to my lineup.

Sure good to see a driver using both hands!!!
Except when shifting ;)
@@BusGreaseMonkey well, even then one hand is steering the the other is shifting ;)
Lenny sounds awesome ripping it up the hill..👍
What a beautiful drive! Nothing like taking your antique convertible out for a drive….Oh I mean 1947 silver side bus!
Lenny is back baby!
Windows down and cruising through the country roads….
thanks for the ride man 👍
Love your longer videos!

ASMR bus rude on the '47 in the fall in beautiful Tennessee!
Красивый автобус! Раньше делали красивые автомобили! Классное видео получилось! Мне понравилось! Круто Круто!!!
Lenny looks fantastic 👍
I’m so glad Lennys dashboard wasn’t butchered and is mostly original. Especially the dog. 😎
Three years sure flew by fast!
Thanks for sharing 😊
Amp meter is essential. Volts meter tells you minimum into. Amps Amps amps. The world runs on torque/amps!! Great job.
Hey all. I am certainly enjoying the ride in the bus along with you guys 😊
❤️ THE EXTENDED DRIVE TIME!! I COULD WATCH FOR HOURS! LOVE THE CHANNEL
Colours in the trees are breathtaking - thanks for taking us out in Lenny!
Really enjoyed your trip both ways bro with the fall colors out the front windscreen. Can not leave out the beautiful music Lenny was playing. Safe travels. Ken.
Don't count Lenny out. Lenny rocks and will run with the best of them.
...Lenny singing his heart out....On the road again.....

we used to have a drive in theater on Staten Island that my parents took us to as kids but it closed in 1966 and is now the Staten Island Mall, Scott
If Lenny could talk and tell you the places he has been already and the passengers he has taken them too.. What an awesome site from the inside. . 👏👍🤗
How cool to see and hear Lennie on the road again!
Good to see Lenny back out. Would love to see him in my driveway to work on the 3751
Keep’m rolling!
keep the clips coming

Great video, you’re living my dream I’ve always wanted to do this.
Could listen to that all day

Flat River Band is pretty good. I can't wait to see them in Boise.
Wishing them good weather along the journey. Hopefully no snow and ice along the route through the mountains.

Old Lenny singing going up that hill, ain't he?☺
Good ole Armstrong Steering! I have a 1967 GM TDH 3501 with a toro-flow. It took me 3 years to find someone to change the head gaskets ffs!
Wish I could like the video again for the encore!! 🙂
