Really glad we made time to put this together, brochacho 👊🏼 Making these intros reminded me of my childhood movie making days with my brothers. Such a blast.
Yessssss! Such a great video and I even learned a few things (the play icon changing in Loop Playback mode 🙌). You guys are hilarious and I’m so glad you got to collab on these videos!
The DREAM TEAM! Thank you so much to you both for all these most useful tips. Looking forward to more tutorials from the DYNAMIC DUO!! Scotland loves you (both!).
Oh my gosh thank you for showing that Loop trick!!! I’ve been searching for this exact thing for ever and never could find it (or word my search correctly). So stoked to FINALLY know this!!! I always forget how to do that compound clip trick too. Glad I have a place to reference next time I forget how to. Haha
I can't thank you enough for your amazing videos! You helped me getting into FCP and motion! I'm 14 years old and doing drum covers. So Your videos helped me being able to use FCP for my drum covers! Next step will be creating an intro with your tutorials!!! Keep em coming man!!
Man I thought, i don’t need this video. Then I thought: let’s give it a try. I’m happy I did! So many useful stuff I wish I knew earlier!! Cheers you two!
Got one question regarding Audio Roles, or a "rule of thumb" advice if you will: what's up with those 'Effects-1' or 'Music-1' etc sub-roles (and their naming convention)? I tend to just use the main one for the most part but don't know if it is just better to use the "-1" in case new sub roles come in, like "Effects-2" "3", and so forth. And great tips, all 20 of them! 👍
I'm with you. I tend to use the main. Though I have used sub-roles specifically when working with a multi-person interview. But I actually found I preferred setting up a separate role with a new color instead. It just made it easier to visually distinguish the difference on the timeline.
Is there the possibility of having a list of used clips with name, time code, duration to be exported perhaps in an excel? When you work professionally at the end of the editing it is usually necessary to produce a document with the list of the material used and related timecodes. I don't think there is a possibility in FCP to do this; I only see the possibility of copying the information from the timecode window but for each individual clip in the timeline. Thank you!
Wow outstanding video! I had a quick question regarding Apple Motion, do you know when you would use Build Out *Mandatory* versus Build Out *Optional* for green markers? Thanks!
Use Build In/Out Mandatory only if you don't want the ability to disable the intro. It's pretty rare that you would want this. Pretty much if you run into that use-case, you will know haha! But I have basically used Optional 99.99% of the time.
The first tip is incredible, but I can't seem to get Apple TV to show up in Final Cut Pro. I authorized Apple TV to the mac, reset Final Cut, reset the computer, and it never shows up as an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated
i am searching for the Option Trim shortcut for german keyboards. in few videos you are talking about this wonder shortcut.. but i cant use it :( can you help me?
Another tip: If the transitions or effects you apply seem to take up only half of the video if it's a vertical video, it's because whoever made the effect (motionVFX is what happens the most) they didn't make it to be compatible with the vertical mode in FullHD which is 1080x1920, instead they put compatibility for vertical but in 4K which is 1215x2160, I already filed a complaint with them to make the effects work in FullHD too, but they always let another effect pass and end up having a problem. How to fix it, go to your timeline and change the aspect to 1215x2160 this will fix any bug you are having with the effect, and when exporting the video, select the 1080x1920 option so you will have the video in FullHD resolution.
Now go watch “STOP doing THESE 10 THINGS in Final Cut Pro!” on Dylan’s channel!

The sloth reaction animation pretty much represented mine, frame by frame 😲

Do you guys use a misty filter or do you use a smoke machine?
Mist filter's all the way!
Hmmmm, for some reazon I cant drag files into the Apple TV app, awesome tips! Txs!
What kind of files are you dragging in? That could be your issue
@@dylanjohndickerson Actualy works, is just that there is no progress bar, and, it won’t take my logo which is in png.
That's cool that you live near each other ? Luck!

Press option command k, search trim start and trim end, select them and hit the key you want to switch that function to. Then hit reassign.
Great Video Guys 🤣
