i feel like the problem is these kids that are good but probably wont make the league & know they wont make it.. this is their only shot to make money playing the sport. so they are gonna do whatever they can to get that bag

That was the purpose of it but at the same time I think they giving these kids too much money at a young age fresh out of high school especially if you grew up average idk if a kid gone work the same if you give them a hellcat and 10k they might not even go to class

Sorry. But it’s a business and now the players wield power as well. If unlv agreed to a dollar amount and didn’t pay then the player was in his right to leave

This is the best thing to happen to college football. But if you a high school athlete these guys are messing up their money. Every college athlete not just football should be worried about these guys. There’s no way boosters are going to pay a premium for these guys that quit.

The players deserve to be paid because we're buying the tickets and turning on the tvs to see football be played. The problem is that the NCAA was willing to die on that hill and it created a power vacuum where players are lying to the schools and schools are lying to the players. The NCAA should have implemented a fair and universal system 20 years ago and that would have addressed all players needs, given opportunities to the athletes that could capitalize on their name, image and likeness, kept rules against play-for-pay intact and retained the student-athlete integrity. Players shouldn't be allowed to transfer and play immediately just because they a poor choice at 18, there still needs to be a consequence. We just literally had a guy enter the transfer portal in April after entering college in January. No accountability at all in that case.
But yeah the players are what drives the fans interest so they definitely should be paid just not millions of dollars and not uneven values. For college football, every player should be paid the same by the university. NIL should be totally independent of the school, the football program, and boosters.

Sometimes we'll call professional players selfish when they sit out training camp to hold out for more money. I can't remember the last NFL player to play the 1st 4 weeks of the season before sitting out for the rest of season while healthy. But how dare anyone criticize college football players for not wanting to honor their commitments to their team (sarcasm).
Honestly, I just try to call things for what they truly are. Bad move by Sluka. Bad move by Alexander. Bad move by the backup running back. How desperate will a program be to give these guys NIL deals next season? They don't show great potential for impact. Will a better team than what they're currently on offer them a scholarship next year? If I'm a coach I'd force them to recruit me and not the other way around. Prove you want to be here to play football.
But supposedly these guys are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars even though we haven't been able to attribute any of their performance directly to any team's success.

They need to implement a cutoff date and a sit year after transfer to help curb this otherwise you’ll have players jumping every year to keep getting paid and it’s going to hurt the 90% of teams that can’t keep up financially.

Two rules to fix this you only can immediately play after a true redshirt no 4 game transfer get paid bs nd after your first transfer ya head coach has to sign off on where you go end that shit right there
