Wizz is one of the governors - no doubt. This song always conjures memories of smoky folk clubs back in the seventies - Wizz usually played this towards the end of his closing set, and I’d stay to the end and miss the last bus home. The walk never seemed too far though :-)
One of my all time favourite performers - he is so underrated and is one of the best acoustic guitarists ever. I believe he’s still gigging in his 80s and still sounds the same - unique voice and playing style! Brilliant.
wonderful playing from a master...having followed Ralph McTell for years there is a connection in that my step daughter worked for the last few years at The Mermaid in Porth where you and Ralph used to gig
Touch has a memory Better than the other senses Hearing and sight fight free Touching has no defences Textures come back to you real as can be Touch has a memory Fine eyes are wide at night Eyelashes show that nicely Seeing forgets the sight Touch recollects precisely Eyelids are modest yet blink at a kiss Touching takes note of this When in a later day Little of the vision lingers Memory slips away Every way but through the fingers Textures come back to you real as can be Making you feel time doesn't heal And touch has a memory
Agreed. I sing the song. Not a patch on this. Wizz sang it at The George in South Molton in answer to my request several years ago. Magical. Brilliant lyrics and guitar.💚👏🏽
Hello, old buddy. Nice to see you here again. Know you since decades and will never forget your superb guitar playing. If you are alive - all the best for you. When you are dead, Rest in Peace, my old youthfriend.
What a shame only 471 views. Great song played and sung well. Bit too jolly compared to Pete Atkins' original perhaps but this mandeserves more listeners!
Always one of my favourite Pete Atkin songs. (My own band Midnight played this for many years.) This is a beautiful version -- but I prefer the simplicity of Pete's original.

Wonderful - Wizz always gets right into a song and then magically makes it his whilst still respecting the original,. Unmistakably Wizz

Touch has a memory
Better than the other senses
Hearing and sight fight free
Touching has no defences
Textures come back to you real as can be
Touch has a memory
Fine eyes are wide at night
Eyelashes show that nicely
Seeing forgets the sight
Touch recollects precisely
Eyelids are modest yet blink at a kiss
Touching takes note of this
When in a later day
Little of the vision lingers
Memory slips away
Every way but through the fingers
Textures come back to you real as can be
Making you feel time doesn't heal
And touch has a memory
Keats quote touch has a memory. Well done, for death has little memory but the final touch.
One of my favourite live performances, period.
It is magic indeed.

His guitar-playing style is unique after all that years and although his voice sounds like ever. You just need a few seconds to recognize him.
so passionate, so clear, no gimmicks - so focused - onegoing inspiration you are to me wizz! THANKS
Just perfect should be a household name
You still have the most melodious voice, and brill' playing as ever!
A really full sound!
^..^
My last band, Midnight, used to do this -- and a couple of Pete's other songs.
Beautifully played & sung. Actual ability rather than technological trickery. Brilliant.
As always ! Quatre minutes vingt-six de pur bonheur !!!!
Wow . Totally unaware of this. Thank you
Poignant and beautifully sung and played. It makes me feel like crying every time. Learning my own version on guitar. Will aspire to this,
And Wizz has the touch...
