Helminth would be an amazing way to encourage players to re-engage with finite content. Ghouls, Thermia, Railjack, Razorback, and Fomorians. By just giving them farmable drops that are highly e efficient for feeding Helminth.

It's stupid the amount of these resources they are actually asking for. It's ridiculous.... 5 Diluted thermia !? It's an event based resource for one, and it's one full run to get 1. It's like 20 minutes... And the Somatic fibres drop rate from demolysts isn't better! Just gets me all worked up as soon as I see my Helminth!
Ray Dove Choi naw your doing it wrong. If you put in 4 canisters at once you get a thermia in less than 2 minutes, so 10-15 minutes per bile stack. Also during the thermia event, depending on the progress there will be a resource booster for orb Vallis, so 5-7 minutes per bike stack then

Yeah, see so many people overfeeding the thing... What I do is I only feed him one frame per day (usually after reset), then I partially replenish his stocks using green ressources (never try to hit 100% on a ressource at it means you're wasting ressources, try to keep ressources at 80% ish if possible)... I never give him ressources that I have very little of , and I never feed him ressources that have ridiculous costs (like 15K Copernics). If for some reason there's very little I can feed him in a particular category (since all the stuff I have plenty of are no longer green), I just wait to finish feeding him the next day ,as normally he'll have started to crave things again after that long, and If I wait a day I should get him to at least 80% using what I have plenty of. Also, pace yourself. As much as you want to put five abilities per day on each of your frames, try to limit yourself and not push him into a situation where he's sick of all of your common ressource, because as Brozime said, it'll take time to let him reset his likes and dislikes. So yeah, feed him one frame a day, maybe put one or two abilities max, and look at it as a long time system. Never spend 400K Ferrite for 3% increments, and be smart with your ressources. And for god's sake don't do like most of the streamers did and try to rank up your helminth to max on week ... That's just dumb.
@@sasatofe7707 he can also feed it till he hits 100 % the point is, once you hit 100% ALL remaining green arrows get reset to neutral, which means you have less choices for the next time you feed him since you have to wait for the arrows to refill. Going 100% doesnt do anything since most processes as he mentioned is need around 80 till 90ish %.
I've been doing it kinda this way to and honestly I'm already at 7 after a couple days. I understand youtubers need to be "cutting edge" so they gotta get it asap and get the videos out but I don't understand a lot of other people just going nuts and just spending all their resources immedately.
Imagine a world where the values were balanced enough for someone to think, "man I should play a few railjack missions". You'd think they would try to lean towards that maybe.
They are so expensive, they make me think "Damn, that's actually too much Railjack." I don't hate Railjack, but I noticed that being on PS4, I have to aim my entire ship to shoot shit, which is beyond aggravating, while PC players just move the cursor. Still haven't found an Archwing gun I can use to kill them either. They move around too 3 dimensionally to aim at. Not just left and right, but how much they be moving up-back-left and inside-right.
Still haven’t built one part of my RAIL since it dropped ( ditto with POKÉMON I mean KUVA LICH 🙄) so I have zero interest in hassles or a RIGGED NEW RELIC SYSTEM .( looking at you RELIC SYSTEM after atlas prime dropped )
I'd say argon crystals are exceptions to your rule of not feeding it red arrow resources. They decay and plus the void kind of spits them out like candy. Realistically the easiest source of bile as it only needs 3 per feeding.

I wish DE would move some of the Biotics into Bile. It would make logical sense that some plants would "produce bile". Also I wish they'd add Detonite Ampules to Bile. Cause that's chemicals and etc. Makes sense. Also with it being so plentiful it would be good to divide it and Fieldiron Samples. Having them both in the same catagory is a waste impo. NONE of Bile's mats are acceptable in any way impo.

I wish they implemented a similar system for when applying Formas. You can choose which configurations the polarity you are installing will affect, eliminating the necessity for multiple copies of one given equipment.
I dropped like 200 Morphics but other than that I didn’t break myself. That being said I’m still mostly done with all the stuff I want yikes. Ain’t too many great abilities and the only great ones are like B I L E

I've been looking at the wiki and only feeding Helminth a frame that requires Bile to subsume every other day. Not an ideal solution, but it works until DE readdress the cost to produce more Bile.
Just do proper railjack resource farming runs. They're not super hard, and the amount of resources you get are actually a lot. Especially Isos. It's so easy to get 400 Isos well within the daily reset of appetite.

I still feel like the amount of bile required for many things, and the amount of bile you get from feeding the few resources you have is in need of some tweaks, but otherwise, yeah, i've had 0 issues steadily feeding frames and swapping abilities
Bile is what's pretty much keeping the system in check... Most of the good frames and abilities all require bile to subsume or put on frames and bile is slow.. So the rushing is limited
Thanks for the tip with the green arrow thing. I didn't realize it was a 24 hour cycle for neutral to full green. Just want to add one tip about farming bile. If you do a run through Orb Valis where you go through the three Toroid farming sights, you can come away with between 80-100 (before a booster) thermal sludge in
yeah I really didn't get everyone's complaints about the resource cost. aside from the asinine railjack amounts just don't feed it when the arrow is red, problem solved. might take a wee bit of patience but it already takes 23hr to subsume and I didn't feel much need to spam infusions. dude chomps on like 2-3 green arrows which cost like nothing and you're good, I've barely even lost any resources overall
It is absolutely DUMB that people didn't realize that "red arrow pointing down" indicated "this is bad, don't do this." I completely agree that the Railjack resources NEED rebalancing in terms of their values and how much % they're worth when feeding. But this is so easy a system to interact with, I'm staggered and shocked that so many people in this community insisted on spamming it without thinking. It's unbelievable.
The problem is that they cost so much to put in already so if you don't have a huge stock of the material, even if you DO wait, it's still a shitload of boring farming
@@hartleyharms4404 That's not a problem, though. Veterans get what they wanted, in other words a head start aka a USE for everything they've already farmed. And newer players have actual choices to make and USES for basically everything they collect going forward. Warframe has needed a universal resource sink for a long time, and it finally has one. It may not be the necessary connecting tissue between the open world hubs, on foot missions and Railjack we need (that's more about lore and narrative and interaction than just farming stuff), but it still means everything we collect has additional use if we're out of blueprints that call for them. That said, DE absolutely needs to rebalance values, and I'm pretty sure they will. The cost on a lot of things will be reduced.
The complaints were the resource costs + paying up for every ability you put on a warframe. By having these costs (and increasing ones over the short term), people that want to try out 2-3 abilities on one frame are more or less forced to... wait, rather than try it out. If you want to try various abilities on various warframes, each and every one means not only extra resources you're spending, it also means waiting another day. Basically, the system supposedly for experimenting with has a massive timer on it that means experimenting is not an option for anyone but the patience of a saint. Most people will just pick meta options, and be "done" because they have nothing useful to gain within a time that they consider worth it.

And no, it doesn't mean only meta choices will be used, honestly, I've seen the meta builds come from this and most of them are EXCEPTIONALLY boring, by just buffing damage. Superb. No. A person who ISN'T paying attention and is too eager to rank up...who needs to slow down before clicking...THEY blow through 100k cryotic.
I am really enjoying the helminth system. It 1) allows you to make relatively weaker frames viable if not great, 2) replace an ability that doesn't fit your playstyle with something that does,. 3) massively increases build diversity potential, and 4) is essentially a functional trash can for resources you would never ever use otherwise. The only 'risk' I see, is that it is also tempting to make specific frames more generalist, and take away from their own specialization or individuality. I see this most commonly with gloom and roar, which are slapped onto frames kind of haphazardly, because they are generally useful abilities. Fine when playing solo, but if you slap roar on your max range low strength Vauban and you have a max strength duration rhino in your team, well, you just played yourself. The challenge, for me, is to subsume in such a way that it contributes to a frame's core role in the team, and not half-assing something another frame does better. Then just use that frame instead.

As a new player, I do not have the materials (building a lot of warframes/weapons/etc), so knowing what is worth sacrificing and what is not worth it saves a lot of headaches and resources! I also have not seen a description of how much of each category you need to feed it to level it (would be nice to see an XP meter of where you will be in Helminth level BEFORE you sacrifice materials. Again, thank you for the great description and honest feelings.
Its amazing how in recent almost every new system looks like its made my 2 different people at the same time. One who playes the game and understand and the other who doesn't and just knows maybe surface level stuff
Its amazing how recent content has been made to encourage the sale of Boosters. Steel Essence, buy resource Boosters to compensate for the ridiculous low droprate. Helminth, buy Boosters to compensate for the ridiculous ammounts needed. Necramech, buy Booster to compensate for the ridiculous low mod droprate.

@@DARKWIZRDDUDE I know, but DE used to be realy fair. They removed the kubrow breeding for plat because it encourage gambling to get the right skin. All the cosmetics are not game effecting. These new things reek too much of inconveniences programmed in and then DE offer a solution. Like Ubisoft making Assassins Creed horribly grindy only to offer XP and ressource bundles for cash.
@@kyotahellbound1780 Yea, I'd say some things in WF can be fairly grindy. Not sure I'd include this system though tbh. Sure there's a few problem resources, but you can just go with the other much better options. Even with bile, argon and thermal sludge are pretty easy to farm. Overall it's pretty fair imo. The other two you mentioned I completely agree with though, among some other things.
These companies usually have different designers for different aspects of the game. A systems designer probably designed helminth, but an economy designer probably decided the values for each resource and which resources.
Hexenon is only used for a few blueprints, namely wisp, her gun, and gauss’s guns, so if you have all those built theres currently no other reason to not donate it
The very first ability I subsumed was nidus' larva. Just having a good CC+gathering skill is heaven for a lot of frames. Like Protea's artillery+ larva just makes her 5x more effective.
I think bile is their way to balance / control it. It seems to affect the, at least perceived, "strong" ability the most (larva is 80% bile while instant hacking is 0% bile, and very cheap otherwise). Good video as always, ty
People are going crazy over running out of resources while ive reached lvl9 and still have TONS left over. Be smart about feeding the meat wall people!

I actually really enjoy Railjack as a change of pace from the usual missions and a way of playing with my friends. Praying they drastically reduce the Railjack resources cost for Helminth so I have an actual reason to play Railjack.
Personally, I’m fond of a Dispensary Limbo. Minimum range, maximum duration Cataclysm-Stasis, throw a Dispensary in the middle of it, and suddenly you have a little safety bubble to heal up, restore energy and restock on ammo.

Great work thnx... you forgot to mention that becareful not to waste % by over feeding it green arrows... imo 80-90% is as max as you can efficiently get any catagory, which means that for often used resource catagories you sometimes have to push it to 95% inefficiently. Thnx again. stay healthy.
Orokin cells are also the best to feed in if you're a veteran and did Draco back when the best way to level everything was 1 Mesa 1 Mag and go 4 rounds, because you got a shit ton of them during that farm
IIRC gallos rods are for tier 2 railjack parts pretty much exclusively so I’ve just been feeding them to the Helminth. If you’ve already built out your railjack you’ll never need any more, so just get rid of them. In regards to the idea of needing them for something later, it’s been their MO that new content comes with new resources so long times players can’t immediately buy/build everything in the new content. Railjack did spend some time as my go to credit farm, as you could also use it to level equipment pretty quickly while also farming credits but it seems like people who actually know what they’re doing in railjack have become fewer and farther between.
@@VallThyo it mentions the diminishing returns when spam feeding the same resources, which is the main reason for people complaining. now this isnt as strong as strong of an argument but DE themselves also mentioned the same thing when they revealed the helminth, though naturally not everyone watched that so not everybody could know that based on said livestream alone. now as for the last part of your comment; thats not something that belongs in the helminth section. it doesnt matter what resource you feed, every resource has the same contribution value (with deimos resources having twice the value). knowin where to farm what is something you look for else where, like on the star chart when hovering over the extractors for each planet
@@rakshar6299 yeah, the youtuber OriginalWickedFun showed a video of him complaining about the helminth, and he calls the costs "imbalanced", while showing himself overfeeding helminth the same resource over and over again. He said he had already sent 5 million nanospores down the drain and was still super low rank in helminth. I'm rank 7 with helminth and 8 frames subsumed and the only resource I have that has taken any real hit was diluted thermia, since I had about 80 saved up from a very lucky 8x booster, where I had 2x from login, 2x from an event, and 2x from controlled fissures.
Hey Brozime, another thing I think is important is that at 27:06, you fed Chomper some Thermal Sludge. But since you were at 81%, and it went to 100%, you only got 19% out of your Thermal Sludge instead of 30%. It's like Survival when someone wastes a life support module before it's needed. In my personal opinion, unless you just _need_ a really high percentage, don't feed Helminth if your percentage is above 70%.
I feel like Railjack has one or two decent affinity farms that you might use if for some reason you want to level something in every slot at once, or your operator, but even as someone who goes into railjack pretty often I still would only be able to feed helminth a handfull of times before running out completely.
Sentient Appetite was the saving grace for me. I've done a ton of Tridolons, so I had about 16k Flawless Sentient Cores. I just spam feed them to Helminth and I'm only down to about 15k so far after subsuming 20 frames.
The video could be renamed to "Common Sense" The biggest failure of the Helminth was really making it MR8 when most people it's made for have quit the game a long time ago, and trying to get them back to try Helminth through the miserable open world grind just confirms their quitting even further.
I stopped playing for aa year and a half, came back and I very much enjoy the game. a lot of new content, new warframes, new companions, that's existing. only the people who play continuously get burned out
@@knavenformed9436 scintillant farming is annoying. otherwise it's fine. animals can be found in the wild (without using bait) which is cool. there is an alternative to mining and fishing that is quite efficient, which I love. the map size is smaller which is absolutely awesome. new vulpa companions are a lot of fun. And I love the derelict tileset so it's nice that people play it again a bit. i don't care about necramech, feels too clunky so i'm ignoring that for now. and xaku is meh but they actually improved spoiler mode while trying to fix him so all win on that front.
Note that feeding a Green arrow item will reset other unwanted resources of the same category... So if you may be low on some of these greens. It may be a good idea to go out and farm some of it at least for 1 feed. So then you can feed the helimint with your most common resources again in the same day. And then you dont have to wait for so long to start infusing or subsuming stuff. Also, giving him a varied diet of pretty much everything and not just a few resources will make it so not everything goes into red territory at the same time. And as you keep feeding it other stuffs, the rest of the resources will naturally start to go neutral again. So it has a LOT of micromanagement. And if you really want to use the system on a daily bassis... Then farming a little bit of everything every day and starting to make a stock pile of resouces to feed it will be a good thing to do. Just remember. Use your resources efficiently and wisely as it will pay out the most for you that way, having the same cost, but bigger pay out... Meaning that you have to try to get the "Most" out of everything that you feed into it. If you can afford it. Just take your time and dont rush things... Overfeeding unwanted or undesired things will not only drain you inventory really fast but it wont be worth it by a BIG multiplicative margin... So dont make your life harder. Greens are your friends. Reds are your foes. Keep a balanced and varied diet involving every resource that you think you can either, get more of it, or farm more in the less time possible... Be wise when spending most rarer resources as they wont be so easy to get again. Just do a few things every day and wait for the next one to come, as its Appetite will grow back up every daily reset and over time. And if you got to choose wich to do... Either to Subsume a frame or infuse... Always choose to spend your resources on subsumes over infusing. As it will make you yo rank up much faster on regular bassis and gain more xp. At the end of the day 24 hrs is not that long, and when you realise, it will be tomorrow already. And it will be another day of grinding a feeding resources to your space doggo monter thing. Im ngl... Helmint deos feel like an actual pet with daily needs and daily hunger... Not like these other companions.
All the comments are on point. Although it makes me wonder just how many people are actually struggling with it now. Were there just a few loud voices in the beginning? It's amazing to me that anyone would struggle to figure it out.
Knowing that I can just rely on my stockpiles of basic common resources to advance the helminth makes me so so so happy. I can actually see myself using this system now.
PSA about subsumed abilities being used in ESO. The lockouts are determined by the slot not the ability, so even if it’s a 1 in the 4 slot it will still lock after 2 casts.
Just unlocked my railjack recently after putting it off for a while. Me and a couple friends have been enjoying it a lot. So I'll be collecting these materials anyways as I work on my railjack. I'll feed it every once in a while.
I enjoy railjack and I use it to level my warframes quite often. And even I have run out of the bloody things. It needs to get fixed. PS- you do actually sometimes get forma bps from mission rewards in the veil.
While getting the most out of your resources is the reasonable option... There is however a argument to be made for doing the opposite. Just using it to dump your resources (assuming you've played for a long time) can be the more enjoyable option because you go back to enjoying resource drops in missions. Forcing you to diversify your farm locations from just experience farming to resource farming again and having you go to more diverse planets. Getting a change of scenery.

I'm lucky on the Bile front, since I did a lot of Lith&Neo excavation, and a lot of Arbitration excavation. So I have like 200 or 300k cryotic banked. It also isn't an hour per-click of 3k cryotic: * It is 30 excavators at 1m:40s each, but you can do 2 (or sometimes 3) excavators at a time. Let's average that to doubling the rate, so in 100 seconds we actually 200 cryotic. That comes to about 25 minutes. * You might have a resource booster, in which case it is 12.5 minutes. * and you might have *another* resource booster from endless relic cracking bonus. It scales up to x2, but let's say you average 1.5x. Then it takes 8m:20s. Now, not everyone has time for that, or has sunk their spare time into relic cracking like I have. But if you did, you were doing it without any care for the cryotic since it was all about those lith/neo prime parts.
It’s pretty cool actually for people like me who have been playing since it dropped on console back in 2014. A lot of the frames we have collected overtime and got bored with can make us excited to use them again. Smart move on DE to do this
There so many now useless materials they couldve added to this system that just arent here. Some examples include antiserum injector fragments (from infested salvage), orokin cyphers (from vaults) and even those eidolon shards you need to level up the quills. Hell just adding antiserum injector fragments to bile would solve the problem since you basically need to farm nidus twice now. Another fun idea would be to feed frame parts to helminth for bile because i have no use for 200 oberon chassis other than to sell them. Seems like this would be a great use for those too
The thing about cryotic is that you can't really solo it with anything but Frost, maybe Limbo, because the enemies that spawn with canisters can come from 4 or 5 zones away. Allow the Deimos excavators to give cryotic and it would be manageable.
Thankfully, many of the resources we have a lot of satiate the Helminth enough that all the green triangles disappear on other resources in the same category. I find it easy to get what I need done simply using what I have a ton of, for the most part. I don't have to farm resources for the Helminth system
Then play the game and later enjoy the helminth system, normal frames still can work without any modification... or you just want all in a single instant? 😂

i accidentally hit confirm after spending komms the other day, my brain was thinking javlok capacitors, once i realized the following day I was hating myself. (seems to be a common theme this year w/ warframe, as an hour before the helminth system was shown off, i was going through my annual inventory clean up and sold all the spare systems, chassis, and neuroptics I had)
"Nobody ever goes back to Railjack". You do know it's quite efficient for solo leveling companions? The RJ you control counts as a separate source of affinity so it doesn't get cut from companions like if you do ESO solo. And it's basically risk free so the suicidal pets don't lose affinity from being dead. I've been leveling Deimos dogs to turn in for Son tokens there.
Does feeding xp come from how much the resource bar is filled or the quantity consumed? Can you just feed him a truck load of argon to “cheese” it and power level in a sense?
I'd like to throw out Neural Sensors as something that deserve special mention. You get a shit ton of them running Kuva Survival, especially because you'll normally have a Nekros in the squad to make sure you've got life support in sufficient quantities.
I accidently fed Helminth my Kavat when I interacted with it outside the chair. I found it hilarious but I am glad my kavat beat up its tonsils until Helminth spit him out.
While railjack resource demands are way too much, railjack has 1 use, and that is leveling things on gian point. It’s a decent affinity farm, that you can speed run if you have a squad.
I look at this, and it just...it sucks any desire I have to play right out of me. All my brain is doing is going "Grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, grind".
Iso and Copernics are the 3rd best together because you can farm them at the same time for bile. Saw someone get 17k Copernics and 1k Isos in about 34 minutes. The comparison is 1k Thermal Sludge in 10 minutes of breaking boxes on steel path. Thermal Sludge is by far the best. Because of Railjacks affinity mechanics, it's one of the only good places to level your Companions solo. You can fully level a companion for 10 son tokens, farm 2 separate resource for bile, and some affinity for your gear. It's not amazing, but it knocks out multiple things at once. This is going full guns blazing killing as much as possible, not the boring bumping into rocks. Honestly, any railjack resource above 10k cost is about little less than oxium tier. They aren't super terrible but they aren't amazing either. The ones costing below 1k are a complete scam. If the 10k+ resources were slashed to about 60% of current costs, I could honestly see Railjack competing for 2nd place spots as helminth resources. The opportunity cost for sentient cores means eidolon or anomaly farming vs just waiting. If you have a bank of sentient cores, then that's ok. But if you don't have resources for the reset, maybe railjack is worth your time if you can stomach it. More options are always better than none.
The only way to bring railjack into playing field is to put back umbral forma and put some frames into that system but only if and only if they fixed all issues there (which not gonna happen until 2035).
Veil Proxima does drop forma, and given how fast Gian point can be run I would call it a good source of affinity and credits. Having said that the amount of RJ resources helminth asks for is still ridiculous.

It's like 20 minutes... And the Somatic fibres drop rate from demolysts isn't better! Just gets me all worked up as soon as I see my Helminth!
Ray Dove Choi naw your doing it wrong. If you put in 4 canisters at once you get a thermia in less than 2 minutes, so 10-15 minutes per bile stack. Also during the thermia event, depending on the progress there will be a resource booster for orb Vallis, so 5-7 minutes per bike stack then

Yeah, see so many people overfeeding the thing... What I do is I only feed him one frame per day (usually after reset), then I partially replenish his stocks using green ressources (never try to hit 100% on a ressource at it means you're wasting ressources, try to keep ressources at 80% ish if possible)... I never give him ressources that I have very little of , and I never feed him ressources that have ridiculous costs (like 15K Copernics). If for some reason there's very little I can feed him in a particular category (since all the stuff I have plenty of are no longer green), I just wait to finish feeding him the next day ,as normally he'll have started to crave things again after that long, and If I wait a day I should get him to at least 80% using what I have plenty of.
Also, pace yourself. As much as you want to put five abilities per day on each of your frames, try to limit yourself and not push him into a situation where he's sick of all of your common ressource, because as Brozime said, it'll take time to let him reset his likes and dislikes. So yeah, feed him one frame a day, maybe put one or two abilities max, and look at it as a long time system. Never spend 400K Ferrite for 3% increments, and be smart with your ressources. And for god's sake don't do like most of the streamers did and try to rank up your helminth to max on week ... That's just dumb.

@@sasatofe7707 he can also feed it till he hits 100 % the point is, once you hit 100% ALL remaining green arrows get reset to neutral, which means you have less choices for the next time you feed him since you have to wait for the arrows to refill. Going 100% doesnt do anything since most processes as he mentioned is need around 80 till 90ish %.

I've been doing it kinda this way to and honestly I'm already at 7 after a couple days. I understand youtubers need to be "cutting edge" so they gotta get it asap and get the videos out but I don't understand a lot of other people just going nuts and just spending all their resources immedately.

They are so expensive, they make me think "Damn, that's actually too much Railjack." I don't hate Railjack, but I noticed that being on PS4, I have to aim my entire ship to shoot shit, which is beyond aggravating, while PC players just move the cursor. Still haven't found an Archwing gun I can use to kill them either. They move around too 3 dimensionally to aim at. Not just left and right, but how much they be moving up-back-left and inside-right.

I'd say argon crystals are exceptions to your rule of not feeding it red arrow resources. They decay and plus the void kind of spits them out like candy. Realistically the easiest source of bile as it only needs 3 per feeding.

I wish DE would move some of the Biotics into Bile. It would make logical sense that some plants would "produce bile".
Also I wish they'd add Detonite Ampules to Bile. Cause that's chemicals and etc. Makes sense. Also with it being so plentiful it would be good to divide it and Fieldiron Samples. Having them both in the same catagory is a waste impo.

I wish they implemented a similar system for when applying Formas. You can choose which configurations the polarity you are installing will affect, eliminating the necessity for multiple copies of one given equipment.

I've been looking at the wiki and only feeding Helminth a frame that requires Bile to subsume every other day. Not an ideal solution, but it works until DE readdress the cost to produce more Bile.

Just do proper railjack resource farming runs. They're not super hard, and the amount of resources you get are actually a lot. Especially Isos. It's so easy to get 400 Isos well within the daily reset of appetite.

I still feel like the amount of bile required for many things, and the amount of bile you get from feeding the few resources you have is in need of some tweaks, but otherwise, yeah, i've had 0 issues steadily feeding frames and swapping abilities
Bile is what's pretty much keeping the system in check... Most of the good frames and abilities all require bile to subsume or put on frames and bile is slow.. So the rushing is limited

Just want to add one tip about farming bile. If you do a run through Orb Valis where you go through the three Toroid farming sights, you can come away with between 80-100 (before a booster) thermal sludge in

yeah I really didn't get everyone's complaints about the resource cost. aside from the asinine railjack amounts just don't feed it when the arrow is red, problem solved. might take a wee bit of patience but it already takes 23hr to subsume and I didn't feel much need to spam infusions. dude chomps on like 2-3 green arrows which cost like nothing and you're good, I've barely even lost any resources overall
It is absolutely DUMB that people didn't realize that "red arrow pointing down" indicated "this is bad, don't do this." I completely agree that the Railjack resources NEED rebalancing in terms of their values and how much % they're worth when feeding. But this is so easy a system to interact with, I'm staggered and shocked that so many people in this community insisted on spamming it without thinking. It's unbelievable.
The problem is that they cost so much to put in already so if you don't have a huge stock of the material, even if you DO wait, it's still a shitload of boring farming
@@hartleyharms4404 That's not a problem, though. Veterans get what they wanted, in other words a head start aka a USE for everything they've already farmed. And newer players have actual choices to make and USES for basically everything they collect going forward. Warframe has needed a universal resource sink for a long time, and it finally has one. It may not be the necessary connecting tissue between the open world hubs, on foot missions and Railjack we need (that's more about lore and narrative and interaction than just farming stuff), but it still means everything we collect has additional use if we're out of blueprints that call for them.
That said, DE absolutely needs to rebalance values, and I'm pretty sure they will. The cost on a lot of things will be reduced.
The complaints were the resource costs + paying up for every ability you put on a warframe. By having these costs (and increasing ones over the short term), people that want to try out 2-3 abilities on one frame are more or less forced to... wait, rather than try it out. If you want to try various abilities on various warframes, each and every one means not only extra resources you're spending, it also means waiting another day.
Basically, the system supposedly for experimenting with has a massive timer on it that means experimenting is not an option for anyone but the patience of a saint. Most people will just pick meta options, and be "done" because they have nothing useful to gain within a time that they consider worth it.

Honestly, it just means people need to be more careful with their spending. DE is going to rebalance some of the costs so they're not so stupid, but players also need to not be so click happy. A person who is paying attention to on screen cues and changes when hovering over icons is NOT blowing 100k cryotic. No. A person who ISN'T paying attention and is too eager to rank up...who needs to slow down before clicking...THEY blow through 100k cryotic.

I am really enjoying the helminth system. It 1) allows you to make relatively weaker frames viable if not great, 2) replace an ability that doesn't fit your playstyle with something that does,. 3) massively increases build diversity potential, and 4) is essentially a functional trash can for resources you would never ever use otherwise.
The only 'risk' I see, is that it is also tempting to make specific frames more generalist, and take away from their own specialization or individuality. I see this most commonly with gloom and roar, which are slapped onto frames kind of haphazardly, because they are generally useful abilities. Fine when playing solo, but if you slap roar on your max range low strength Vauban and you have a max strength duration rhino in your team, well, you just played yourself. The challenge, for me, is to subsume in such a way that it contributes to a frame's core role in the team, and not half-assing something another frame does better. Then just use that frame instead.
Thank you so much! As a new player, I do not have the materials (building a lot of warframes/weapons/etc), so knowing what is worth sacrificing and what is not worth it saves a lot of headaches and resources! I also have not seen a description of how much of each category you need to feed it to level it (would be nice to see an XP meter of where you will be in Helminth level BEFORE you sacrifice materials.

Sure there's a few problem resources, but you can just go with the other much better options. Even with bile, argon and thermal sludge are pretty easy to farm. Overall it's pretty fair imo.
The other two you mentioned I completely agree with though, among some other things.
These companies usually have different designers for different aspects of the game. A systems designer probably designed helminth, but an economy designer probably decided the values for each resource and which resources.

i named my helminth DE Scott, cause the subsumed abilities are nerfed.
If u put into 2 or more configurations....you can only remove ALL at once, thats something to keep in mind
The very first ability I subsumed was nidus' larva. Just having a good CC+gathering skill is heaven for a lot of frames. Like Protea's artillery+ larva just makes her 5x more effective.
I think bile is their way to balance / control it. It seems to affect the, at least perceived, "strong" ability the most (larva is 80% bile while instant hacking is 0% bile, and very cheap otherwise).

I actually really enjoy Railjack as a change of pace from the usual missions and a way of playing with my friends. Praying they drastically reduce the Railjack resources cost for Helminth so I have an actual reason to play Railjack.
Personally, I’m fond of a Dispensary Limbo. Minimum range, maximum duration Cataclysm-Stasis, throw a Dispensary in the middle of it, and suddenly you have a little safety bubble to heal up, restore energy and restock on ammo.

Great work thnx... you forgot to mention that becareful not to waste % by over feeding it green arrows... imo 80-90% is as max as you can efficiently get any catagory, which means that for often used resource catagories you sometimes have to push it to 95% inefficiently. Thnx again. stay healthy.

Orokin cells are also the best to feed in if you're a veteran and did Draco back when the best way to level everything was 1 Mesa 1 Mag and go 4 rounds, because you got a shit ton of them during that farm
I was initially shocked by the cost of some of resources (quantity) but after using it its actually pretty fine. It's not a rush system.
IIRC gallos rods are for tier 2 railjack parts pretty much exclusively so I’ve just been feeding them to the Helminth. If you’ve already built out your railjack you’ll never need any more, so just get rid of them. In regards to the idea of needing them for something later, it’s been their MO that new content comes with new resources so long times players can’t immediately buy/build everything in the new content.
Railjack did spend some time as my go to credit farm, as you could also use it to level equipment pretty quickly while also farming credits but it seems like people who actually know what they’re doing in railjack have become fewer and farther between.

@@VallThyo it mentions the diminishing returns when spam feeding the same resources, which is the main reason for people complaining. now this isnt as strong as strong of an argument but DE themselves also mentioned the same thing when they revealed the helminth, though naturally not everyone watched that so not everybody could know that based on said livestream alone. now as for the last part of your comment; thats not something that belongs in the helminth section. it doesnt matter what resource you feed, every resource has the same contribution value (with deimos resources having twice the value). knowin where to farm what is something you look for else where, like on the star chart when hovering over the extractors for each planet
@@rakshar6299 yeah, the youtuber OriginalWickedFun showed a video of him complaining about the helminth, and he calls the costs "imbalanced", while showing himself overfeeding helminth the same resource over and over again. He said he had already sent 5 million nanospores down the drain and was still super low rank in helminth. I'm rank 7 with helminth and 8 frames subsumed and the only resource I have that has taken any real hit was diluted thermia, since I had about 80 saved up from a very lucky 8x booster, where I had 2x from login, 2x from an event, and 2x from controlled fissures.

Hey Brozime, another thing I think is important is that at 27:06, you fed Chomper some Thermal Sludge. But since you were at 81%, and it went to 100%, you only got 19% out of your Thermal Sludge instead of 30%. It's like Survival when someone wastes a life support module before it's needed. In my personal opinion, unless you just _need_ a really high percentage, don't feed Helminth if your percentage is above 70%.
I feel like Railjack has one or two decent affinity farms that you might use if for some reason you want to level something in every slot at once, or your operator, but even as someone who goes into railjack pretty often I still would only be able to feed helminth a handfull of times before running out completely.

Sentient Appetite was the saving grace for me. I've done a ton of Tridolons, so I had about 16k Flawless Sentient Cores. I just spam feed them to Helminth and I'm only down to about 15k so far after subsuming 20 frames.

The biggest failure of the Helminth was really making it MR8 when most people it's made for have quit the game a long time ago, and trying to get them back to try Helminth through the miserable open world grind just confirms their quitting even further.
I stopped playing for aa year and a half, came back and I very much enjoy the game. a lot of new content, new warframes, new companions, that's existing. only the people who play continuously get burned out

@@knavenformed9436 scintillant farming is annoying. otherwise it's fine. animals can be found in the wild (without using bait) which is cool. there is an alternative to mining and fishing that is quite efficient, which I love. the map size is smaller which is absolutely awesome. new vulpa companions are a lot of fun. And I love the derelict tileset so it's nice that people play it again a bit. i don't care about necramech, feels too clunky so i'm ignoring that for now. and xaku is meh but they actually improved spoiler mode while trying to fix him so all win on that front.
Note that feeding a Green arrow item will reset other unwanted resources of the same category...
So if you may be low on some of these greens. It may be a good idea to go out and farm some of it at least for 1 feed. So then you can feed the helimint with your most common resources again in the same day.
And then you dont have to wait for so long to start infusing or subsuming stuff.
Also, giving him a varied diet of pretty much everything and not just a few resources will make it so not everything goes into red territory at the same time. And as you keep feeding it other stuffs, the rest of the resources will naturally start to go neutral again.
So it has a LOT of micromanagement.
And if you really want to use the system on a daily bassis...
Then farming a little bit of everything every day and starting to make a stock pile of resouces to feed it will be a good thing to do.
Just remember. Use your resources efficiently and wisely as it will pay out the most for you that way, having the same cost, but bigger pay out...
Meaning that you have to try to get the "Most" out of everything that you feed into it.
If you can afford it.
Just take your time and dont rush things...
Overfeeding unwanted or undesired things will not only drain you inventory really fast but it wont be worth it by a BIG multiplicative margin...
So dont make your life harder.
Greens are your friends. Reds are your foes.
Keep a balanced and varied diet involving every resource that you think you can either, get more of it, or farm more in the less time possible...
Be wise when spending most rarer resources as they wont be so easy to get again.
Just do a few things every day and wait for the next one to come, as its Appetite will grow back up every daily reset and over time.
And if you got to choose wich to do...
Either to Subsume a frame or infuse... Always choose to spend your resources on subsumes over infusing.
As it will make you yo rank up much faster on regular bassis and gain more xp.
At the end of the day 24 hrs is not that long, and when you realise, it will be tomorrow already.
And it will be another day of grinding a feeding resources to your space doggo monter thing.
Im ngl... Helmint deos feel like an actual pet with daily needs and daily hunger...

All the comments are on point. Although it makes me wonder just how many people are actually struggling with it now. Were there just a few loud voices in the beginning? It's amazing to me that anyone would struggle to figure it out.
Knowing that I can just rely on my stockpiles of basic common resources to advance the helminth makes me so so so happy. I can actually see myself using this system now.
PSA about subsumed abilities being used in ESO. The lockouts are determined by the slot not the ability, so even if it’s a 1 in the 4 slot it will still lock after 2 casts.

Just unlocked my railjack recently after putting it off for a while. Me and a couple friends have been enjoying it a lot. So I'll be collecting these materials anyways as I work on my railjack. I'll feed it every once in a while.

I enjoy railjack and I use it to level my warframes quite often. And even I have run out of the bloody things. It needs to get fixed.
PS- you do actually sometimes get forma bps from mission rewards in the veil.

While getting the most out of your resources is the reasonable option...
There is however a argument to be made for doing the opposite.
Just using it to dump your resources (assuming you've played for a long time) can be the more enjoyable option because you go back to enjoying resource drops in missions. Forcing you to diversify your farm locations from just experience farming to resource farming again and having you go to more diverse planets. Getting a change of scenery.

I'm lucky on the Bile front, since I did a lot of Lith&Neo excavation, and a lot of Arbitration excavation.
So I have like 200 or 300k cryotic banked.
It also isn't an hour per-click of 3k cryotic:
* It is 30 excavators at 1m:40s each, but you can do 2 (or sometimes 3) excavators at a time. Let's average that to doubling the rate, so in 100 seconds we actually 200 cryotic.
That comes to about 25 minutes.
* You might have a resource booster, in which case it is 12.5 minutes.
* and you might have *another* resource booster from endless relic cracking bonus. It scales up to x2, but let's say you average 1.5x. Then it takes 8m:20s.
Now, not everyone has time for that, or has sunk their spare time into relic cracking like I have. But if you did, you were doing it without any care for the cryotic since it was all about those lith/neo prime parts.
It’s pretty cool actually for people like me who have been playing since it dropped on console back in 2014. A lot of the frames we have collected overtime and got bored with can make us excited to use them again. Smart move on DE to do this
There so many now useless materials they couldve added to this system that just arent here. Some examples include antiserum injector fragments (from infested salvage), orokin cyphers (from vaults) and even those eidolon shards you need to level up the quills. Hell just adding antiserum injector fragments to bile would solve the problem since you basically need to farm nidus twice now.
Another fun idea would be to feed frame parts to helminth for bile because i have no use for 200 oberon chassis other than to sell them. Seems like this would be a great use for those too

The thing about cryotic is that you can't really solo it with anything but Frost, maybe Limbo, because the enemies that spawn with canisters can come from 4 or 5 zones away. Allow the Deimos excavators to give cryotic and it would be manageable.
I typed into Fandom what anomaly shards are... rabbit hole! I definitely missed something, and I log in almost every day.
Exception to this: if you are at 80%, feeding it a green arrow feeds it 30%, versus 15% from no arrow
Oof, I think I've played too much if I'm almost to Helminth 10 while Brozime releases a video today with him only at Helminth 8.
Thankfully, many of the resources we have a lot of satiate the Helminth enough that all the green triangles disappear on other resources in the same category. I find it easy to get what I need done simply using what I have a ton of, for the most part. I don't have to farm resources for the Helminth system

i accidentally hit confirm after spending komms the other day, my brain was thinking javlok capacitors, once i realized the following day I was hating myself. (seems to be a common theme this year w/ warframe, as an hour before the helminth system was shown off, i was going through my annual inventory clean up and sold all the spare systems, chassis, and neuroptics I had)

"Nobody ever goes back to Railjack". You do know it's quite efficient for solo leveling companions? The RJ you control counts as a separate source of affinity so it doesn't get cut from companions like if you do ESO solo. And it's basically risk free so the suicidal pets don't lose affinity from being dead. I've been leveling Deimos dogs to turn in for Son tokens there.

Does feeding xp come from how much the resource bar is filled or the quantity consumed? Can you just feed him a truck load of argon to “cheese” it and power level in a sense?
I'd like to throw out Neural Sensors as something that deserve special mention. You get a shit ton of them running Kuva Survival, especially because you'll normally have a Nekros in the squad to make sure you've got life support in sufficient quantities.
I accidently fed Helminth my Kavat when I interacted with it outside the chair. I found it hilarious but I am glad my kavat beat up its tonsils until Helminth spit him out.

While railjack resource demands are way too much, railjack has 1 use, and that is leveling things on gian point. It’s a decent affinity farm, that you can speed run if you have a squad.
I look at this, and it just...it sucks any desire I have to play right out of me. All my brain is doing is going "Grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, grind".

Iso and Copernics are the 3rd best together because you can farm them at the same time for bile.
Saw someone get 17k Copernics and 1k Isos in about 34 minutes. The comparison is 1k Thermal Sludge in 10 minutes of breaking boxes on steel path. Thermal Sludge is by far the best.
Because of Railjacks affinity mechanics, it's one of the only good places to level your Companions solo.
You can fully level a companion for 10 son tokens, farm 2 separate resource for bile, and some affinity for your gear. It's not amazing, but it knocks out multiple things at once. This is going full guns blazing killing as much as possible, not the boring bumping into rocks.
Honestly, any railjack resource above 10k cost is about little less than oxium tier. They aren't super terrible but they aren't amazing either. The ones costing below 1k are a complete scam. If the 10k+ resources were slashed to about 60% of current costs, I could honestly see Railjack competing for 2nd place spots as helminth resources.
The opportunity cost for sentient cores means eidolon or anomaly farming vs just waiting. If you have a bank of sentient cores, then that's ok. But if you don't have resources for the reset, maybe railjack is worth your time if you can stomach it. More options are always better than none.

The only way to bring railjack into playing field is to put back umbral forma and put some frames into that system but only if and only if they fixed all issues there (which not gonna happen until 2035).
Veil Proxima does drop forma, and given how fast Gian point can be run I would call it a good source of affinity and credits. Having said that the amount of RJ resources helminth asks for is still ridiculous.
