Well, there had been a lot of weird moments between them with the touching and eye-stares that can attribute to why he said that. I actually think "erotically codependent" is a perfect way to sum it up. He didn't say they're banging, but that there's some tension between them. When two are psychologically codependent, the erotic part seems normal tbh.
