    This is great! I have a software emulation of the Oberheim Matrix from Arturia and I am looking to make warm, deep pads just like this! Any tips on how to get started with the filters, vcas, etc.?

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  Рік тому +1

      Hi thank you for your feedback 😎✌️. Look for a Pad preset that comes with the Arturia that comes near you want. Then try around with different settings for example Osc wave = saw. tune one +5 or 7 or 12. Mabey long attack time on vca envelope that the sound fading in. Gentle cutoff on lfo etc. How i say it’s important to try around, most nice things happens accidentally while tweak the knobs.

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  Рік тому +1

      in this track i use the ramp lfo on cutoff to make the whooop whoop sound 😂if you understand what i try to say 😅

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  Рік тому +1

      but you can do it manually by sliding the cutoff higher in rhytm timing and record the midi cc data , there are different ways to do sounds like this, try around is the best advise i can give you 😉

    Lovely material. Very soothing. A question: is there a video out there that would explain how to set up synths in this way for live performance, for someone who has not done it, basically the concepts what controls what and what kind of hardware is needed and most suitable? Thanks.

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you.
      In short terms you need : Pc, Daw ( Ableton etc.) , audio interface with ADA inputs and outputs could be for usb or pci-express slot(better more in and outs than to less ), ADA Converter like this one Behringer Ada8200, Depends on your synths you need a midi interface cause some synths have no usb for the connection just standard midi, of course synths 😆. This are the basics you need if you want to work with hardware.
      Usefull for performance are midi controllers ( i use faderfox mx12 and a novation lunchpad mini )
      here are 2 vids for a in deeper view.
      ua-cam.com/video/ZVqcMGHqZxo/v-deo.html
      ua-cam.com/video/klD4IBeOWVw/v-deo.html
      i hope this helps a bit.

      @d64d64 2 роки тому

      @@Creamtronic Thanks a lot for your answer. I'm familiar with how synths can be controlled with midi or cv/gate, but still have a question on how the controllers are used here. When you push the buttons on your controllers, what actually happens? Do you trigger something on the computer, or does that change a signal that is sent from controller to synth directly?

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  2 роки тому +1

      @@d64d64 Ah ok thats easy , on the lunchpad i mute or unmute ( trigger) midi tracks or samples or Fx in Ableton. This is better and more in the flow than do it with the mouse. On the Faderfox i tweak sends for the hardware fx( Delay ,Reverb decay etc.) and Cutoff ,Resonance,Attack etc. of my hardware synths. For this routine i map the midi cc or whatever i want to controll of the hardware synths or vst plugs to the faders or potis on the faderfox. So i have all in front of me and have not to jump to every synth to tweak it. Maybe it looks cooler for a video if i tweak it on the synths directly 🤣 but for the flow i like to have the controll in front of me. The other reason is some of my vintage synths like the Roland Jx-8p, mks 50 or oberheim matix r6 have no possibility to the tweak the parameters on the synth itself or better say it is to complicate to do this live. So here i route/map again the parameters i want to use to the faderfox.

    • @d64d64
      @d64d64 2 роки тому +1

      @@Creamtronic Thanks a lot for explaining, you've made it very clear. In theory there are so many possible ways to control a synth, so it's very useful to learn what setups the experts have already found work for them.

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  2 роки тому +1

      @@d64d64 nice that i can help you. You just have to find out which midi controllers suits to your workflow then the posibility are endless.That is one of the reasons i work with ableton cause its very easy to route/map parameters to your midi controller. Just two mouse clicks😉😎✌️

    what are your thoughts on the matrix 6 overall?

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  3 роки тому

      Hi, for me the matrix is a underrated vintage synth with a lot of possibilities because of his modulation matrix and overall sound.
      On the other side to program it just over the matrix itself its not very intuitive. For that reason i use a CTRL Panel to program and to tweak it live.
      With a midicontroller , Panel and your Daw you can change everthing on the fly. I would recommend a new Firmware chip for a smoother and faster repond if tweaking the parameters. Here are some links: www.untergeek.de/de/new-oberheim-matrix-6r-firmware/
      Panel: ctrlr.org/matrix-6/
      The Matrix can do nearly any sound , Bass , pads , fx and so on. Pad sounds from the matrix begins to shine with a extern Stereo Chorus or plugin and some reverb. If you know his restrictions cause of the programing on the matrix itself you get a very good sounding Synth with a lot of character. I would buy it everytime again. I hope this answer your question. Have a nice week and take care of you,best wishes Oliver.
      Btw you hear the matrix directly from the beginning on this session , he makes the smooth pad sound, I sync his lfo with an extern lfo from the pedal input on the backside of the matrix.

    which mixer did you use?

    • @Creamtronic
      @Creamtronic  3 роки тому +1

      Hi ,
      I don’t use a mixer , i mix completely in the daw. The mixing desk in the video is a behringer Ddx 32/16 digital mixing desk. But i use it
      as a AD converter the line in goes directly over ADAT to my soundcard.

      I use the Launchpad Mini and the Faderfox mx12 in my home studio to start & stop Clips in Ableton Live and tweaking some filters.
      All analog synthesizer plays live triggered by pre recorded midi files.
      Further I use Ableton for the live jam to sample & record analog sequences.
