Lidded pots are used to cook in Asian homes. Especially rice, but anything can be cooked in them, soups, stews. I just bought one new and it was $35 for a smaller one.
Hi Andi, the lidded pot at 3:58 is a donabe (“do” pronounced like “dot”, “na” like “nap”, “be” like “bed”). It’s an earthenware pot we use here for hotpot, especially during winter season. This one looks like it’s for a couple or single person use. Looked a bit too far gone to get completely cleaned😅but still fine for personal use!🥰
I sell a lot of art! Juan Nakai hasn't sold above $60 at auction and maxes out at 200 on Ebay. Saw another very similar painting (Shiprock gouache) to yours that sold for about $200. You can always ask for more than sold prices are but I wouldn't reframe it. Not worth it and I think its nice enough as it is. I think its a well done painting and I've actually been there a few times. Beautiful place and sacred to the people there. Definitely a gouache on paper.
I watch another couple that sell. They do amazing with pillows. Embroidered ones, ones like that. Very cool items you picked up! Your art collection is wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
The Shiprock painting was not professionally framed. You could have it refit or suggest to whoever buys that they have it refit with acid free materials and UV glass. Nice score!
The lidded bowl is a Japanese donburi bowl. Donburi is rice with a meat topping. To clean stained china, apply a mix of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide made into a paste
Hi, I am an artist and come from a long line of antique dealers, My opinion and advice would be to look at the subject, Beautiful woman with a nice dress and say a cat or puppy will sell more than a painting of a plain square building for example. landscapes with a focal point, mountain, water fall, trees with an animal are good sellers, then look at the size and framing job, you also want to examine the painting for condition, is it peeling, faded from the sun etc, once you find out what other paintings like it are going for you want to price it competitively but not so high it does not sell and of course you want to authenticate the signature, Art is the most copied thing in the field, . What would you pay for it? then figure your overhead percentage and finally ask yourself those above questions. If you have a giant painting signed in good condition, size can go against or for you, not everyone has a large wall so the size of that particular painting in the condition and framing I can see, I would put $359 if you want to move it. He is not like a Picasso, his work will be more in demand near his home town. If someone sold it who painted it, they price it on time and materials used which is considerably higher if you have the following. second hand sellers never get what the original artist would get unless your a master. Oils will cost more. Hope that helps❤
If your frame is done professionally, I would definitely sell your Juan Naki watercolor for at least $500 or even more. You can always negotiate if someone wants it for less. It looks really beautiful.
Agreed, the frame looks like an afterthought. A proper frame made to fit the art would increase its value. The frame might look nice on a different piece that fits better. It’s a nice frame 😊
After you spend $200 framing it with a 70% off frame discount. Professional framing is through the roof making this piece more than $500. You can easily spend $700.
The Juan Nakai painting could be a gouache watercolor which is a more opaque medium. It is hard for me to tell on the screen but it looks like it is gouache. (FYI-pronounced like gwash)
Takes a lot for a painting to be worth a substantial amount. You can find thousands of paintings by known artists on auction websites that sell for relatively little.
Google native American painting appraisal. First thing to pop up should be appraisers near your area. Otherwise I know The Native American Trading Company are the number one experts but they're in Denver and they're not free.
The purple pottery piece is perfect for artist brushes!!!❤
soak that covered dish to get rid of the stains. works on iron stone, too
My husband and I have a wall full of art we gathered from our travels. It makes my heart smile every time I see our wall of memories.
I love your candle drawer.
Baking soda paste on the covered bowl. Let it sit for a little while and scrub. Might bleach out the stains a bit. Can try peroxide too.
I love art too! Stacks and stacks everywhere. I sell some, I give some away, I forget about some, I make or acquire more, it never ends.
Those bird pillows ❤

That blue home made thing at goodwill was a toothpaste holder with a slot to put a toothbrush in, I think.
I thought the desert scene painting was stunning when you bought it-with the story it’s even more special❤
Love the painting great video ❤

I have a gallery wall that I bought one piece at a time. I love looking at it.
Fantastic video! Thanks.
You can also remove wax from candleholders by freezing them.
You could put the pencil in a candle holder or some kind of vase. Just a thought.
Great sales 😊

Hi
Put your friend's Russian doll gift on the wall with all of your other Art...
Might be as well to consult a professional art dealer, specialist in Native American art, about the painting.
