i love that motor acceleration sound ....
love the idea of putting everything in the tool box.
I converted an old riding mower into an electric go kart. I used a battery box to store the electronics. If I had needed to go bigger, I was looking at using a toolbox. They are incredibly versatile and relatively cheap for what they are.
The components are so well organized, almost seems like a production ready vehicle !
its a big bye for the transmition that sound great!!!

Very fascinating finish in the work.
Wow I miss my 68 Dodge Van sold it 4 years ago , had it for 25 years, the NH salt got to it… many good memories… I’ll have one again some day when I have a garage. Great idea , and build! We have come along way in just a few years. Feels like a few years……. Thanks for your time!
It's now 2020 and this seems even more relevant today, amazing conversion.
Not relevant at all. The cost far outweighs the benefit
@@tylerbonser7686 It's not a total cost in use business proposal old chap, it's relevant as electric mobility is in the ascendance. Don't take everything in your life so literally and you'll find it a lot easier.
@@malcolmlane-ley2044 that's literally the dumbest thing I ever heard
@The Hermanator and Spurgle and you don't have a clue what the conversion would cost. It far outweighs the savings in fuel. Battery technology has to improve and cost come down. People like you are to ignorant to see the current drawbacks.
Who needs floor boards? You should also change the drivers seat for a toilet for extra convenience.
He just had the dog house removed I'm sure for the benefit of this video. The floorboards are just where they are supposed to be LOL.
What a genius idea😂 can you imagine the face of pedestrians when you drive by and leave a brown splatter on the asphalt
Cool conversion.. When the dog house is installed it wont be mych quiter!
. Beatle owner in early seventys had a toilet mounted where the back seat was, and of course a home made luggage carrier and a few dozen "bumoer stickers " stuck everwhere but the bumpers. Those were the days of hippies, Tricky Dicky and the emergence of a person called DIRT WOMEN aka Donny Corker. Nowadays , no bumpers, no witty stickers and no fun.
You mean a plain toilet seat? 😜
Not the kind of skid marks I was expecting
He was converting to electric before electric was cool
Electric is gayer than aids
I must have missed it, when did electric become cool?
What a nice job. It still retains the character.
Whatever happened to this project, no recent videos...
WOW! This is very interesting! Thank You for sharing this!
Que bien que quedó excelente trabajo!!! 👍
...and you STILL can't get rid of that Dodge pecking valve noise....
The old slant 6 I was working on had 90psi in two cylinders, the other four had 40psi, and it still started and ran fine (ticks and all). Then the 70's happened. 318's were still good, just everything connected to it failed.
@@buaidhnobas1ify I had a 1963 Belvdere with the OLD 318 that idled louder than it ran at 1800 rpm.
Now I have to go and get some Belvedere Vodka.
@@buaidhnobas1ify ... :D PLUS it had a push-button 3 speed automatic - just click and go.

Nicely done project
Sweet job boss keep us updated
That jet engine sound is actually pretty f*ing cool
that's how electric sounds
Nice! Thats really cool!
Mate that is a top job.😊
Nice job.
supppppper clean install and probably great power. that's a serious motor there. LOTS of money in this NOT including the vehicle itself.
BOA TARDE! PARABÉNS. MARAVILHOSO ESSE SEU PROJETO PENA QUE AQUI NO BRASIL NÃO CONSEGUIMOS REALIZAR AINDA TAIS PROJETOS PARABÉNS
nice job
Great work! Would love more info about the build.
Is there a build post somewhere?
Brilliant choice of host. Love the way these A100 look and stand. I was thinking that this body style with the cab all the way forward and upright would be a brilliant reboot for new flat EV platforms who keep talking about introducing an EV pickup.
In your build, No transmission is ideal. Was the entire available bed length preserved? By chance, you have a parts, steps and cost breakdown somewhere?
@Dirk Pitt Yup, you're the "first responder". 😂
Good job guys
No. He studied the EV forums. He's hit some of the local electric vehicle shows for PR. He's a very talented fabricator and CNC machinist. This is a serious undertaking in effort and money. That adapter piece between the motor and the clutch was all machined out of aluminum. Most everything else was off the shelf from DIY EV component suppliers.
Me dá esse sistema do carro de graça kkk
This was built by a friend. I just shot the video. He researched all the off-the-shelf battery and controller technology and then integrated it all himself. He is uber talented in design, fabrication, and CNC skills. The batteries are the less expensive lithium iron phosphate type. I think he has $30k in this total, including the donor vehicle. To operate, it effectively gets about 130 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent cost-wise. About 90 miles per charge. Top speed is 80mph.
Nice
To rebuild a diesel motor is $15k, another $15k and you never have to rebuild it again or put fossil fuel into it 😎. Pretty good deal if you ask me, as long as one can afford it.
Its a trip they do have kits to convert old school cars.. i love my hot rods but i think it be fun to do an electric.. i just might have to do one..
Beautiful!
It is really sad how many people insist on asking questions that the original poster answered.
It is even sadder how many people think powering an alternator off of the front shaft of the motor would be a good idea :(
good working.
nice :)
LOVE IT... Want one too...
YES!!!! this is too cool!!!!!!!!! i have 3 A100's and have always considered doing this once it became do-able!!
Let me guess they are still rotting in your backyard
I think a cooling fan in the tool box would be a good addition. Everything reminds me of a 48v forklift that I used to operate. This is a good start at a runner tho.
FELICITACIONES.
por favor, comparta, los datos del KIT utilizado
Is this still running? Would like to see an update video to see how it’s holding up. 🤔😉
Hello. Nice looking conversion. I've always loved these trucks/vans. Do you still have it?
Hola felicitaciones por tu desarrollo en ese proyecto, que autonomía tiene cuánto tiempo demora la carga? Gracias
Awesome. Does your friend have a website w/ any specifications for those of us who may want to give this a try?
Muy bueno hojala se implemente lo más rápido posible .
When did the motor fall off.
Love this
I want to do this with my 88 hiace van.
What voltage is the battery putting out? 23KW isn't much help without a voltage. I'm also curious what motor and speed controller you are using. And Finnally, Do you have plans to increase to battery capacity for longer range? Thanks for your time.
ficou muito lindo, nota 10
What happens if you get it wet or go through a big puddle? Does it short out?
Very nice. What motor and controller is that?
Oh boy. It's beautiful.
Sounds like an old tram.
Creeks or rusty frame and all.
:D
Also Marge Simpson was right.
This need a glass bottom so you can see the motor and the road.
Pure genius!
I wish I could do this to mine
That is awesome. How fast does it go?
que emocion buenisimo
I need to do this too my c10. I wish there were companies that do this in the nw
What part of the NW? I know there's one company in Shasta County, CA called EV4U Custom Conversions that does nothing but EV conversions. They have a UA-cam channel under the same name (can you tell I'm a subscriber?) if you want to check them out.
Anybody know of a power steering kit for these vans? I think the sportsman van had it but hard to find a donor..
Add a splash panel to the bottom. Damn!
Este kit que vc usou é a de empilhadeira?
Jadi pengin bikin dinamo DC sendiri hehehe...
Is that a throw out bearing on the backside of the motor?......or some type of sensor/speedo
If I want my car for 250 km at one time then which motor means power and how many batteries and which power
Tengo una caravan 1989 americana larga, crees que se pueda modificar?
How do you keep dirt, mud, water out of the motor?
Hola,le dejas la transmisión manual original y el embregue, saludos.
It's about 3.60 for gas here right now so that's 120 miles a gallon. Not bad.
why exclude the alternator when it can be used to further charge the battery?
Touch this you sure, positive, gangsta
That’s a lot of batteries!
Awesome
Awesome. I'm getting ready to do an EV conversion on my MGB. Love the technology!
Where are you going to put the batteries?
where are you gonna put the oil leaks? 🤔
why? it's so boring and lifeless.
What about revisiting the forward cab Elcamino concept? With an EV power train!
To remove more weight and have less area to fail. Why dont you move the motor to the back axle and forgo the driveshaft? I assume there isnt a need for a transmission?
You rock, my hero!
Lithium iron phosphate batteries are supposed to be able to last a very long time. How about an update on this?
Hola
Buenas, tienes nuevos videos
I would like to convert my 1993 dodge van to electric. Is there kits?? Or is there anyone in the Southern California area the can do it??
Is there any gears involved?
BAD ASS!!!
Which electric conversion kit did you use
El mismo motor puede generar energía extra, con una polea o piñón conectado a un alternador puede proporcionar voltaje.
Pickup it's cool.,😀👍
I want to build a hybrid rally car. Gas up front electric in the rear what info can you share with me?
Can you tell me what size in hp the motor is, and can you tell me how much it cost you to convert your truck ? Also thumbs up.
That is amazing! Beautiful work and installation. I own a 62 econoline pickup, and I would love to do this (depending on cost). Where would one get the required equipment, and what are average costs? Is there a source for schematics? (Thanks! You've made my day with this video!)
About 10 grand should cover it
@@tylerbonser7686 yeah but what about the cost 7 years ago when he first asked?
That's cool l would love to do a conversion on a pickup but how do you get brakes that are vacume type to work?
vacuum pump
yeah seems like swapping the motor is the 'easy' part, getting all your ancilliaries that used to run from the original motor would need some thinking about.
สุดยอด excellent wow lifepo4
Does it have regenerating brakes?
That's beautiful, an electric Flintstones vehicle. Setup is very clean, I like it.
I am a parts supplier for those components.
super
What's the voltage range of the motor
Ive been wanting to convert my Toyota hilux sr5 5vzfe into electric and you my friend made it look so easy!😊.how much did all this cost? If you dont mind me asking? Cheers from Australia
Im from Australia
And it will probably cost about 8 to 10 thousand or even more depending on the quality of the items needed
cool car...it has got flinstone style brakes I bet
Brian Dombrowski What is your max speed?
Which motor kit used
WOW. Where did you get that motor, whats the cost ???/
Where can I get a motor like this?
A warp 9 motor?
De q é esse motor amigo
Yeah electric motor kit India main kahan milegi link share Karen
Who needs air condition! When you have plenty coming from under your car!👋🤣👍
how do the brakes work with no vacuum power assist, does braking charge the battery ; how does the power steering work .. very cool !!!
No power assist for the steering or the brakes.
There are electric power steer assists and electric vacuum pumps available
On an electric vehicle, when you let off of the go pedal , you get an immediate slow down to a dead stop brake effect
