I wholeheartedly relate to what Miyabi says at 6:40 it's precisely how I felt in my matches. This was my very first WKC and in my first match my mind was racing like "Oh god this is really happening isn't it"
So nice to have Miyabi on for this. I really enjoyed watching her match at the time. I was quite proud to see her there knowing yourself Andy and having actually done keiko with Miyabi a couple times over the years when she was was a couple years younger.
There were a couple years between the keiko so her height had changed and I remember after the most recent one thinking "wow, this player is pretty strong"... Then I looked at the nafuda and was like... Yeah, okay, that makes sense 😂.

I am now almost 3 quarter year of kendo. At almost 66yo in a month's time I have achieved my 6Kyu and have just also started wearing bogu. I was utterly terrified and was anticipating that I was going to fail the bogu test because of lack of confidence and skill really. But then I thought, hey ho. I must do my best because everyone has done their best to teach me. What have I got myself into?! ...because I am wanting more. This is crazy. 😂😂😂❤. Must be careful though of my limits. Suffice to say, I am enjoying Kendo life. It is life. Oh, bythe way, love your photo, Andy Fisher Sensei with our Kristopher Inting Sensei!😍❤👍👍 ✨✨✨
what a great experience. She did really well in that match too. So much stuff she can learn as well from it. The top players are always thinking a move or two ahead like in chess and I definitely think she'll get there if she is not there already. Congrats on a wonderful performance!

this was a beautiful and honest review. wish i was that reflective and ripe when i was 16 years old. nevertheless of the loss - that was a wonderful kendo you showed here. while going on you will gather more experience like your father said and that will make you a very strong player. hopefully you will have the chance to fight your idol again in the future!

Very interesting to watch. A suggestion for Miyabi: Find a way to study in Japan and then play against Suenaga every chance you get.
This shiai was very good. She's doing great already at such a young age. Miyabi has a bright future if she's willing to keep going forward! And of course, congratulations to the parents for the incentive, which is so important!
