What I love of Gavin's skill is that he masters making this a lament without sacrificing any epicness. Starscourge Radahn, the man who fought the stars to save his mother, and won. reduced to a husk seeking only a good and honourable end.

It's beautifully tragic .. the entire story and then this story put to music makes such an impact. It was ALL amazing! I think that is the only word for it.

Gavin Dunn's voice can hold so much soul that it is at times frightening. I simply love his works. Thank you for reaction to this one too. =)

If you want a song not linked to modern media, try "The Tale of Cu Challain" (apologies if I mispelled that). Gavin wrote it regarding the legend of one of the greatest mythological characters in Irish history.
Or, if you're in the mood for something more gentle, a song he wrote for an indie game called Journey, "Stay By My Side". One of his listeners actually had it played at his wedding.

I will have Editor Hubby add them to our list! Thank you for your suggestions.

Honestly, Gavin's Elden Ring songs should almost be listened to one after another because they have recurring musical segments that are easier to notice and appreciate when you're more familiar with the tracks or have just heard them again, so I almost recommend you to go through a pre-recording warm-up/reminder prior to reacting to the next track -- which should be "Moonlight Blue", a very beautiful song that, for reasons that are completely beyond me, no-one has made any reactions to yet.
Aside from Gavin's Elden Ring songs, I also recommend his Bloodborne songs, "Paleblood Moon" and "A Thousand Eyes".
I have also seen people in your comment sections recommend Aviators... And they are definitely right to do so: Their songs are just as good as Miracle of Sound's are (and whenever they do collabs, it's a wonder to hear).

@@angeltalion Give Editor Hubby a hug and an apology from all of us down here in the comments on account of all the trouble we cause him. 😅

I give him loads of hugs, I promise, guys! He's very huggable. Thank you for all the ideas behind the scenes. He really enjoys finding new fandoms and other ideas or POVs with you all. It's kind of fun for us to be a part of.... and really who could ever cause him more trouble than me? 🤔 Well... our granddaughter IS being trained by 3 great-grandmothers, 2 grandmothers, and a mother... all from, rather... let's use the word 'feisty' temperament people & families, so she might give me a run for my money someday. .🤣

4:20 "Visceral" might be an appropriate word.

I swear, that song got stuck in my head for a week when I first heard it, and still sometimes comes back out of nowhere. Completely agree with your reaction to that drop after the first verse, it hits so hard it's amazing. I also sometimes have little favorite parts in my favorite songs, in this one it's that little five note guitar riff after the line 'waiting for the end'. I don't know why, but that particular part is an absolute treat for my ears, especially in the first hook.
Not going to spam recommendations today, you already have enough of those from the previous times, but I strongly recommend Gavin's latest song 'Purest Gold', aside from it being an incredible piece it's also directly referencing a few lines from 'Scarlet Sky', I'm curious to see what you think about it

First, that riff still .. I've gone back and watched it several times as just back ground music cuz its just so good. Purest Gold has been recorded and should be posting in a couple of weeks. Make sure your notifications are turned on and then you should get an alert when it drops!

"Purest Gold" is hands-down the best of the series, but part of why is that it builds on and references each of the other ones. It's even better if you listen to "Moonlight Blue" first.
