There is something just about classic Eggman that gives me this certain vibe. He has a knack for flair, style, he doesnt just want to beat sonic, he wants to look good doing it.
Yeah, Classic Eggman feels like the sort of guy who would laugh while he kills you, and then dance on you grave while playing the saxophone!

I love the moment after the sax ends because the way he just throws the saxophone away without even a second thought before simply dusting his coat and resuming activities feels so “well break times over. Back to world domination!”

Bowser is badass due to the fact he just does things. He says he's going to kick your ass and he totally will. He wants to go kidnap peach he'll go and do it.
I will always prefer this design over modern eggman. Just feels so perfect as a goofy yet threatening villain who can do branding so well

I prefer all the classic designs tbh. The short and stocky nature of the characters blend well with their proportions while the modern era characters remind me of bobble heads with long rag doll bodies.

I have always preferred the original designs for the characters in the Sonic games over the redesign that they underwent in the second half of the 90s. I have often thought that I have this preference because I grew up with the original designs in the Megadrive games that because of that have become more ingrained in my memories and what I consider the best versions. I do understand that the originals have a very Mickey Mouse esque vibe that may feel dated for people who got later into the series and grew up with the modern designs, but there is something about those that I find dated in its own way.
Perhaps I also have a disinterest or dislike for the more modern designs because I mentally connect them to games that I no longer wanted to play.
Like the OP said, the original Robotnik (I like the name) / Eggman design can come over as goofy and funny but also very threatening if properly done. He does not need a more darker portrayal to be more threatening looking. If anything it would feel too much like 'trying too hard".
I’ve always loved how in fan media, classic eggman always has the grin, sort of like how eggman was animated in adventure with the no face movements.
I love how it was building up for metal sonic just for eggman to steal the spotlight more.
It's well known that Eggman always makes the most _eggxcellent_ raps. I wish they would make a 3d sonic genesis animation series that looks just like this, and that this rap with metallic madness was in it, because this deserves a show on Netflix and you totally deserve it.

Metal Sonic was a perfect choice for that segment, and the way Classic Eggman moves after he finishes playing the sax looks exactly like something you'd see him do in game

the way he throws the saxophone and and wipes his hand before putting them behind his back is so charmingly animated i love it so much, i know its silly but its my favorite part of the animation, it just tells you so much about his character and the kind of arrogant genius he is

This song and the 2D sonic games had such a Dominion on the tone they wanted to set up. Genesis eggman is so absolutely incredible and has such a fantastic design that screams sass and smarts. And the way you bring that to life is just MMMH, chef's kiss. This looks absolutely iconic, may your temper be atomic, and you're moustache on fire!
Also those lyrics are so 90's it's impossible to quantify them, I wasn't even a 90's kid and it STILL makes me feel nostalgic.

Can I just say I absolutely love the model for Eggman, it's so accurate to old artwork for him from the official game and honestly my favorite part of the video is where he poses with the Eggman symbol behind him just like the artwork

Like DA games once said in his Garten of BanBan Song, "There's Gold in better places now you just have to find it", You should definitely check it out, it's funny, relatable for gaming in general though more focus on the state of mascot horror, and it rocks

If someone can express multiple emotions with a 3D model without expressions, it is because they are a good animator, I don't usually like videos or subscribe, but in this case you deserve both. Great animation.
as someone who works with software like this, i can barely believe this was done in SFM it looks that good, how you managed to make something look this astounding in software so difficult to work with i will never understand

Words cannot describe everything that made this animation so genuinely phenomenal, the animation, the robotnik just going in with fire bars, that scene with metal sonic would’ve made a much better post credits scene for sonic 2, just everything came together in the end

That was the best sonic animation I have ever seen, it looked better than what Sega would do for the classic games. The point is that, Sega should hire you.
I never knew Eggman could rap, absolutely amazing.
Starting off with the first line; “I’m an evil doctor with rad genius and bad minions.” Immediately tells us that he knows he’s evil and that he’s not afraid to show it. He also loves to boast about his IQ as seen here and later in the video. “To help sink the planet into my dominion.” Here yet again he’s not trying to hide his evil in any way as he straight up tells us what his evil plan is. “A baddie with an IQ like you’ve never seen.” Once more he’s telling us that he’s a bad guy and that he doesn’t shy away from it. He also continues to boast about his intellect, showing us he’s clearly very prideful and thinks highly of himself. “I’m the meanest, vilest villain that’s ever been on your screen.” Turns out he’s also prideful of how evil he is, exaggerating the synonyms for evil with every chance he gets. Also nice fourth wall break. “I’m iconic, with my bionic animatronics.” Even more pride is shown, this time, about his popularity. He also mentions he’s iconic *with* his machines, which means he’s prideful of his work (the badniks) as well. “Got a chronic knack to catch the hedgehog they call Sonic.” This line could imply two things, one is that he knows he signalled them to go get sonic and the machines just really liked doing that, two is that they started going after sonic on their own and Eggman is referring to the badnik’s obsession with getting Sonic. “My temper is atomic.” Because of his intelligence, it would be no surprise that he understands every character trait of his and he’s making note of his short fuse, which is apparent in the games every time he loses. “My moustache is on fire.” God damn he’s prideful of his looks as well. I guess that makes sense, given how, as per another villain’s mouth, the difference between a villain and a super villain is presentation. “Welcome to the new world: Eggman empire.” He wants to believe that his plan will come to fruition, even though we all know every single time that it hasn’t.
