Great Video,I got a couple of photos at the New St crossing.
Its good to see the people out to see them with their kids as well as those onboard
Lovely footage, well done and thanks for sharing.
Wish I’d been there. It would be 50 years since I rode that line (in a red rattler of course). Great video! NSW.
Outstanding video. Take care. Be safe.
Been far too long since we've seen shuttles on the Lilydale/Belgrave line. Hope that can happen again.

looks great wish id been on it the trip on frankston line was fantastic
Was that last weekend? I thought I heard a steam train at one stage during the arvo.
I live near the Real Sandringham and would've loved to have been there for my birthday yesterday , on the other side of the World unfortunately !
Imagine being a commuter and not knowing that was going on today and having it just rumble through your station...
That was me. I had come to Melbourne for an event at Black Rock. I rode my pushbike along beach road and stopped for a coffee at Sandringham. When I finished I was startled to hear the unmistakable sound of a steam engine whistle. There in the station were the two engines on the train. Now steam at Sandringham was a rarity even when steam was normal elsewhere. Anyway 5 hours later I was pedalling back along beach road and lo and behold approaching Brighton I once more saw the train parallel to the road heading to Sandringham once more. Definitely quite a surprise.
As an uneducated railway person, was the rear loco driving or just in ‘neutral’?
Assisting where necessary, but otherwise just along for the ride until it's time to reverse direction
Nice video i could of filmed shuttle 4 or 5 but due to work i couldnt.
