For Sauvage EDT, I think the ambroxan makes it smell generic or synthetic. The brain makes your nose adapt to strong scents over time, so you eventually only notice a faint musk or nothing at all. I've observed this with many ambroxan-heavy fragrances.

sauavage edt and edp smell synthetic because theyre lacking naturals like fruit or floral notes. sauavage parfum is a masterpiece of a designer fragrance however, the orange and fruit notes are really beautiful.
