Thanks sister. I'm from East Africa (Tanzania).you did good video presentations. Let's me add something. Swahili is corruption of ziwahili.ziwa +hili . Ziwa means body of water like lake and so on. Hili means here . When foreigner came and ask the people of the coast like where are you from?. They says we are from ziwa hili. So this where Swahili came from. Kilwa kisiwani was ancient town. Arab came there because of how beautiful the town was. Batuta was Arab moors from morocco. He says people of that area are black people. But Arab as white people are trying to lie to the world that people who built the town wa Arab. No. Batuta took engineers from east Africa to go and build Mosque and other buildings in morocco. The mosque still standing until no in morocco. Do research. Arab people are living in the desert the did not have skill to enclave wood and make doors .

Slight correction, the Omani moved their capital from Mombasa to Zanzibar not from Oman. Oman is home!!!!

3:30 This bantu migration is as good as a "creation myth" far as I have researched, it's just a belief that has been passed along with little critical thought, and based on very loosely connected ideas. As you can see in this presentation, 2000BCE through to 1500CE is given as the period, an enormous swing into 3500 years of "darkness" hoping to collide with some truth. Its ridiculous. Its more likely that language and culture travelled, just the same way "Swahili" language and culture has travelled into the interior, yet the people of the interior have been indigenous to the land beyond all known history. Nobody should knowingly perpetuate colonial myths that divorce their own people from their ancestral lands.

I have few corrections to make to your video. The first Mogadishu and generally Somali Benadir Coast were not Swahili cities States but Somali cities States before their unification into the Somali Ajuraan State as a brother State by Omar Aduunyo (the founder Adal Sultanate) in 1278.
Second, the Middle Age trade between India and East African coast combined North South shipping route and an West - East shipping route. This means Mogadishu and Maldives (then under the Ajuraan control) were used as emporium were goods were gathered while awaiting the right navigation season. This organization cut the travel time from 6 months to just 6 weeks enabling the Ajuraan and Swahili ship owners to prosper.
Third, the Bajuuni catamaran was the most commonly used for coastal North/South trade thanks to his great stability enabling navigation throughout the seasons. However for long distance trade the Ajuraan/Swahili used the Somali Beden Ship which is narrow body ship (7 to 8 meters width 14 to 16 meters long) with one large rectangular (usually 6 by 4 meters) veil and can carry up to 34 tons of goods at 60/70 miles per day in the monsoon season.
Fourth, Mogadishu under the Makhuzumi/Muqri Sultanates (840 circa to 1278) exerted political under influence on the Swahili coast that came to an end when the Ajuraan States was established.
Fifth, the Ajuraan where surprised by the Portuguese attack on Mogadishu in 1508 and they lost several cities which were sacked burnt to ashes during the first Battle of Benadir (between 1509 and 1524) though the Portuguese never managed to occupy a Somali town due to armed resistance leading to invaders depletion. Then the Ajuraan navy led by naib Ahmed Dheere soundly defeated the Portuguese armada led by viceroy Joa Sapulva and allied Kilwa naval forces (6 galleys and 24 small ships) in just 72 hours in the second Battle of Benadir between Ajuraan / Portuguese war. This battle is thought in all navy schools as an example of maneuverability prevailing over armor.
Sixth, the Omani Said Barqash was both the Swahili coastal cities overlord and the agent of various Somali imamates such as Hirab for Mogadishu and Dir for Merca, Brava and Kismayo to whom he paid substantial protection fees. This shows Somalis and Omanis partnering in recapturing the Swahili Coast and the archipelago of Socotra which fell under the rule of the Sultan of Majertein.

This is the issue when African Americans try to tell African history, there’s soooo many incorrect statements she’s made. The Portuguese never concord mogadishu, they didn’t even make it to Mogadishu, they came from the south and tried to conquer barawe which is south of Mogadishu and they got defeated there. Please come with real history and not his-story. Thanks
