wow. I heard this song couple of years ago when it just had 300 odd likes. Kept it as my own secret wilson gem among my friends. Seems a lot of you found this gem. Congratulations.
I remember it was not available for a very long time, people just knew it existed, until it landed up on a Lava soundtrack compilation. When a review copy appeared on Ebay, it was sold for a record price, if memory serves me well.
This is song is directly downloadable from the Burning Shed website, FYI. Funny that they note this song was "deemed too cheerful" for In Abstentia. Only in PT....
A peaceful man opens fire A harmless soul trips a wire A careless child has expired Maybe it's just living gets me down Three dimensions and realistic sound Meanwhile your withered brain cells fall away but life goes on Quicksand under your chair Poison spreads through fresh air Maybe its just living gets me down Three dimensions and realistic sound Meanwhile your withered brain cells fall away but life goes on Maybe it's just living gets me down Three dimensions and realistic sound Meantime your withered brain cells fall away But life goes on
Lava Records Pre-cleared Songs for Film vol. 1 June 2003 Lava Records CDR A CDR with no artwork, but of interest because it contains an otherwise unavailable song from the In Absentia sessions "Meantime". Trains Meantime (3.30) Blackest Eyes Wedding Nails
It needs to be on the CD release, i will be disappointed if it ends up not being there. I hope this song along with Drown With Me, Chloroform and Futile appears on the planned CD remaster, it'll be a wasted opportunity not to include them.
Tomas Horn it was originally only released on a CDr by their (at the time) record label, Lava, called "Lava Pre-cleared Songs for Film Vol.1" and was said to be limited to approximately 10 copies. Around about 8-9 years ago (don't quote me on that!) a copy became available for auction on eBay and when it was sold (for an insane amount of money), Steven Wilson caught wind of the sale and through fear of the song being leaked through torrent sites and UA-cam, decided to release the song officially for download on the Burning Shed shop for 99p. Hope that helps!
The moment you think that you know ALL the songs of SW and PT by heart and there is no possibility that you "missed" something.
A gem of a song by a gem of a band

I found it on Spotify
This used to one of my favourite PT tracks, I'd completely forgotten about it, glad I found it again!
Yet another hidden gem. Hard to believe I'm *still* not fully acquainted with the entire discography of what I know is my favorite band.
That short solo is so sweet!

"Too cheerful"....oh Steven Wilson.
This song will be on the upcoming In Absentia Deluxe set :)
Gorgeous song!
Little gem this one.
I've never heard this before! Thanks :)
Wow, can't find this anywhere else. Thanks for posting!

Fuck Man PT is the best thing ever to happen to me !!!!
I hope this would be in the 2018 reissue of In Absentia

You have to wait until early 2020 and you will see (or not) the answer.
Yes!
It is!
Didn't know that...Thanks for the upload! :-)
A pop song? By Porcupine Tree? Nice
a perfect campfire song.......musically, not concerning the lyrics.
This version is better than the remastered haha
aun me sorprendo con PT
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is this Neil Young?
I always thought their bonus CD for In Absentia contains only 3 tracks. Never heard this one ever before

Er, Neil Young anyone?..........Quite the chipper little number!
yeah uuu uuu uuuuu uu U
Paranoid Android much?
Was searching for this
It"s a wonderful song. Sounds a bit like Stereophonics?
Their attempt to do Radiohead?
the fuck are saying dude?
Steven is definitely inspired by their work a bit
This could almost fit on Hail To The Thief or In Rainbows.
First of all PT came out before Radiohead did. Second of all Radiohead is inspired by PT. you have it all in reverse.
@NeverFinished 3Digits That Bends reference is not about Radiohead. The Bends is also the name of a band
Sounds too much like Radiohead though, even Steven's vocals resemble Thom Yorke's.
I dunno, I'm not really fond of this one to be honest.
