This is great music. A true musician who loves music and doesn't show off. I am very happy that I now know the music of Santosh Banerjee. (Maybe this is a silly question, but is he family of Nikhil Banerjee, the great sitar player?). Thank you for posting this tender awe inspiring music.
+Hirak Sarkar Thank you for answering my question. I wondered because Santosh Banerjee and Nikhil Banerjee both have a style of playing Indian classical music that I love very much. Thank you.
Pandit Santosh Banerjee was a very good friend of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee (NB). In a video interview, SB once quoted NB as saying, "I can perform, but not teach! You are a true teacher". NB used to send his own students to SB for training.
While they are not related and belonged to different gharanas of music, we can certainly understand why you love both the styles equally. Pt. Santosh Banerjee plays Dhrupad on Surbahar in Khandahar Vani, and Pt Nikhil Banerjee belonged to Maihar Senia gharana, which was heavily influenced by Dhrupad. Naturally both the artists try to evoke a feeling a Been-baaj in their respective instruments.
Wow! What a magisterial rendition. Please upload more recordings of this artist if you happen to have. Thanks.

Amazing Master!
Very nice rendition of Darbari. I can hear Ust. Md. Dabir Khan's Binkar in his performance. Nice unhurried playing.

+Snakesborough No he is not related to Nikhil Baserjee.

I think the name Banerjee is very popular in parts of India....sort of like the names Smith or Brown are, here in the west.
