The bas of the hurley has changed in a short amount of time. You’d never see ground hurling today which is unfortunate. The ball is in the hand all the time now.
No ground hurling any more or pulling on the ball in the air , 2 skills that have sadly been lost such a pity as there is nothing better than seeing players pull on the ball first time.

@@winterishere9828 Yes there is, south County Galway, Offaly, Laois, Dublin etc. Plenty of hurling territory noth of North Tipperary. The world doesn't revolve around munster.
The hurling parts of galway e.g Portumna and Offaly e.g Birr and Laois lie south of the northernmost end of Tipperary. All the strong hurling counties do in fact. North of there is just Dublin and small pockets in a few other counties. So yeah, I stand by my comment

In North Tipp they were hurleys, not too much hurling territory north of there. Also the ball was called a tan.
In Antrim we just called them hurling sticks.
