Tablet Magazine has a fascinating story with him. He explains the "peace process" from his point of view as a mathematician and theorist.

Mathematics insofar as it contains provably consistent structures is always in danger of being useful.

      What an excellent comment!

A "Real Mathematician" is an Artist in the same " some-sort of sense", (because the Universe is one Principle of "Mathematical" Temporal Imaging), ..of idiosyncratic realization of some-type of coherent, "stand alone" proven design concept.
You "only" risk your sanity with Pure Mathematics, meaning you're on your own, climbing the mountain), until you have a coherent explanation for the perceived inputs and outputs of a process, in concept. The perceived mountain should be in view.

Nonsense! It's just a coherent way to map all kind of structures in a numerical relative! Asshole

Mathematicians who ridicule applied mathematics are bad mathematicians.

he should drop his watch, his clothes, his glasses and everything else then if he thinks useful things are to be despised.

What is useful can and will be used to make a lot of harm, so better stick to the useless fields of science.

You are actually suggesting that we are best off staying ignorant of the real world and knowledge is bad because it is empowering. Sure bad things will come from science but so do all these good things, like the device you wrote your comment on.

@@BartAlder computers came from military research, thanks to the american taxpayer. there are probably thousands of inventors who kept their ideas away from the insane asylum (our society)
