I went to the museum last year and was grateful that I got to interview Henri and our conversation went full-on one hour! Thank you again for the remarkable story Henri!
Henri and his sister had gone through a lot more as Hidden Children, in some ways, more than his parents had, as his parents knew what was going on and happening. If things weren't right or getting too crazy and radical with the people hiding them, or too close to being turned in, they could leave and find another person and hiding place to hide.. these children were at the mercies of strangers, which some weren't very empathetic, nor merciful toward them; as with the one woman forcing her religion on them, scaring them with her fanatical anti-Jewish lies, hoarding their food, and just being an all-around Witch with the way she treated them. Some 'Hidden Children' were treated good, and some treated at least humanely, but some were treated so poorly, it was a torture, a hell within four walls, even as they were being hidden. It must have been terrible for Henri and his sister, their time away from family and their ordeals alone, but finally it ended, and their immediate family survived their ordeals and the war. Thank God, for that. But Henri is wrong in saying his Hidden Child story and testimony wasn't so important. It Was, it Is! We should know every aspect and every story. There isn't just one type or one way or one "Thing" that is more or less important than another. Each story is as different and as important as each person surviving and telling their stories. Bless Henri, for him telling his story... finally.

Grateful for this testimony.
My mother was same age and didnt talk about it. She lost both parents and she was polish
This is so surreal. I understand why people were confused.
Poor child not getting answers about what was happening to him. The confusion must have been awful.
Thank you Henri.. God bless you.
