ive been using a zebco dock demon rod for many many years paired with a zebco zse20 reel, 20lb mono and a 4/0 circle hook. i have caught countless catfish like this but recently decided to change it up a bit. i just put a Penn Pursuit4 4000 reel with 30lb braid and a 6/0 circle hook on it. cant wait to go catfishing again. its hilarious seeing the reaction of people when they see me land a fish that is longer than the pole im using. i thought about putting one of my Pursuit4 6000 or 8000 reels on but the wont fit without modifications and thats not happening.
Thanks man! Unfortunately no smallies that I'm aware of, & only spots to a certain point south. I'm too far south for anything other than Largies. Still though, the quality of the largies down here definitely makes up for having less freshwater diversity.
Pretty sure I was just using some 8lbs Berkley Big Game Trilene, but I'd recommend going a bit heavier than that. It was just the most appropriate spool of spare line I had for this reel when I made the vid 😅
Hey man, it's a long process unless you use an app that does it for you & those never make clean cuts. To make them look like mine, you need Photoshop or the free version of it called gimp & you use the free select tool to trace the object you want outlined, grow the image, then fill in the new outline with whatever color you want. There are tutorials online, but you might be able to figure it out through trial & error

Great job buddy! I didn't even know you could eat ciclid but sounds good!! Looked like a decent set-up! Thanks for sharing my friend!!
Thanks man! Yeah, cichlids are actually delicious. I'd compare the meat to something like bluegill or crappie 👍
@@AllmouthBassing that's awesome!
I thought so too when I learned that! Believe it or not, tilapia are actually in the cichlid family too
I have a Dock Demon, but I haven’t had a chance to use it. Nice video.
Nice! They're tough little setups for what they are. I like mine 👍
Great video. Thanks for making it.
Thank you! Thanks for watching it 🤙
Hey all mouth how do you outline the rod or fish for your thumbnails
Nice ones with a small rod. Do they not have smallies or spots in flordia?

What kind of line are you running?

@@AllmouthBassing I was thinking of throwing some 12 pound braided on mine
@@Julian004X If you plan to catch bass or anything with decent growth potential I'd say 10-12 would be a safe enough bet in freshwater 👍
