*A few things about the Sugarcane, Bedrock, and Hay myths* (long message)
Minecraft ticks happen 20 times per second, every tick the game checks 3 random blocks in every loaded chunk.
*/gamerule randomtickspeed* changes the tickspeed meaning that it changes how many blocks will update.
If the block is a plant, then the game checks the light level, as well as some other things such as water and surrounding blocks that depend on the plant.
The better the conditions are, the higher the chance of it growing. But it is still random chance.
Bedrock is unbreakable, as well as command blocks, end frames, structure blocks, border blocks, allow/deny blocks, and barrier blocks. These can all be broken on Creative mode (with the exception of allow/deny blocks and border blocks, which require you to be a World Builder with */wb* ) only.
Without hacking or modding the game, it is impossible to break any of these blocks on Survival mode. And it won't take 20 hours for any block, Mojang wouldn't put that in. The longest time to break a block is 4 min 10 seconds (I think) which is the time it takes to break obsidian with your hands.
The world is 383 blocks tall, here is the damage from falling 383 blocks.
No armour or hay: 380
No armour with hay: 70
Full netherite, Feather Falling IV on boots: 105
Full netherite, Feather Falling IV on boots and Protection IV on everything else: 74
Full netherite, Feather Falling IV on boots and hay: 17

Yeah, about the bedrock one, how long something takes to break is effected by a few things, one of which is the hardness level of the block, the higher, the longer it takes to break, Bedrock’s is -1, making it unbreakable

If you added Protection IV to the helmet, chestplate, and leggings via command block commands, then dropped from 256 and trying to land on hay that is at like y = 0 or y = 1, you would theoretically survive.
Now with the recent updates and since the height limit has increased to 512 blocks or something, and also since you can now go down to y = -64 until theres like bedrock and void and stuff, you can literally fall for 576 blocks down.

first one isn't plausible since the game *randomly* chooses what block to grow in specific subchunks. they all grow differently each time.

Flyaustingarner 4 the blocks can only detect if water touches it or not they can’t detect if it is source or not source block, even if it isn’t a source block it won’t affect the speed. It is a very famous Minecraft feature where in you don’t source blocks of water on every place, it won’t slow down crop growth.
