Danish Bonsai Show 2023 - Kongens Lyngby

Revisit the Annual Bonsai Show from the Danish Bonsai Association (DBS), held at the town of Kongens Lynby - May 27th to 28th, 2023. DBS is currently one of the oldest bonsai associations in Europe and attracts Bonsai practitioners from all of Denmark and some parts of Scandinavia. We have a new Bonsai artist and/or professional, to give talks, demostrations and workshops each year. Some of the latest guests we had in this regard, includes Yannick Kiggen (BEL), Bruno Wijman (NED), Peter Warren (UK) and Marija Hajdic (CRO), to just name a few. We are pleased to present our latest Bonsai Show and Exhibition to the International Bonsai Community.

PRIZES & AWARDS
There were handed a lot of prices and awards out, but the only ones showcased in this video were: Best Kifu tree on Show (Peter Landerloos), Public's Choide Award (Jan Leung - Hornbeam), Award for the most creative Bonsai display (Jan Leung - Hornbeam & Alice in Wonderland), Best deciduous tree on Show (Ole Clæfer - European Beech), Best evergreen tree on Show (Anders Kjeldgaard - Pinus Sylvestris), 1st Prize for the best Bonsai display on Show (Anders Kjeldgaard - Pinus Sylvestris), Award for the best Shohin display in competition (Simon Tonsorn Christiansen - 4 poins display). The Displays Judge on this exhibition was Yvonne Graubaek, who is the most experienced Bonsai practitioner in Denmark, as well as an Internationally renounded Suiseki artist, especially in Japan. The tree Judge this time around was Marija Hajdic (Meleda Bonsai - Croatia).

For us (as well as for an overwhelmingly majority of Bonsai practitioners from around the globe) Bonsai is both a subjective art form, as well as a never ending process and journey. 😉 Therefore we respect your point of view, and we also hope you do respect our view and criteria of appreciation. Despite of that, the Danish bonsai association is one of the oldest in Europe. Besides, there are many limits on what material to find and what to work on, in the permitted zones in the Danish land.
