to be honest , starting from your interance speech till the end , you always on the core of idea and so helpful . I don't even notice the minutes until you are done . thanks so much useful
Thank you I was looking for the website I use to code a couple years ago but I couldn't remember it so I looked at videos for coding websites to see if I could find it there and I did and it was this video Thank you so much
This is great. Thank you. This video is old for a tech video. However I hope these websites are still going. I am poor. So I would rather stick to free stuff. I tried a couple of apps to learn code. However I would like to go further. I like coding itself. It is so nice that there is no nonsense. There is a lot of detail and logic. Once I start to understand the coding language, things become crystal clear. Even little things like colons, indentation and quotations have some purpose of clarifying messages. Dealing with computers is so much easier than dealing with people. They don't use ambiguity, body language, vocal tone or any confusing things like that. Since computers have no emotions at all, they don't get offended by awkward or "rude" behavior. That is so refreshing about computers. Sure code can get very fiddly, but it is still easier. Difficulty with people is irritating at best and rage inducing at worst. By rage, I mean going berserk with uncontrollable screaming and smashing. Coding is not as hard as it looks. Having no nonsense is a huge benefit that makes things easier. I especially like how computers make decisions. When comparing two values, it is either true or false. No middle ground. No waffling. No wishy washy. There are two clear answers. Maybe it is due to the binary and digital nature of computers. That is how it works. There are ways to add nuance. There are a lot of ways to compare values. It goes beyond greater, lesser and equal. A computer can also make more than one comparison before making a decision. Yet even these nuances are clearly spelled out in code. There is no subjectivity to muddle and muck stuff up. Something is either right or it is wrong. The objective nature is a lot like math. I was good at math back when I was in high school and college. It is actually one of the easiest subjects. It is not as hard as people think.
The thing that I am really interested in is game design. I have made tabletop games. I am interested in video games. I am especially into RPGs. Both the tabletop and video games kinds are amazing. It is possible to make video games using a game engine. I am trying out Godot. Unfortunately I didn't know how to code at all. Making video games on my own is impossible without coding. The Godot tutorials on UA-cam are mostly incomprehensible to me. So I am trying to learn coding specifically as a prerequisite. I chose Python. It is the one that people recommend for beginners. Even more, it is similar to the main Godot language. This language is GDscript, and it is used specifically for Godot. I tried a couple of learning coding apps. The content is good. Unfortunately these apps really limit how much I can do at once. I have to pay in order to learn without limits. This makes the apps almost useless. I need to be able to practice a substantial amount in order to learn. Otherwise I would forget stuff and not learn at all. I have a long attention span . I hate interruptions. Maybe the apps were designed with a short attention span in mind. That is definitely not for me. I don't expect to sink into coding all day. However having at least an hour in one sitting would be nice. For the websites in this video, I want to try out the ones that are completely free and open source. There are free programs out there that are high quality. The one I am most familiar is Krita. It is similar to Photoshop. Krita is amazing. I highly recommend it for anybody interested in learning digital art. That is the program I started with. Godot is another one. I had difficulty using it. However that is a problem of me, not the program itself. I was going to use Unity. However Unity got a big scandal in its monetization. Then a bunch of users flocked to Godot. I jumped on the bandwagon. Unreal is another major option. However it isn't a good fit for me. It is more geared towards more experienced designers and higher quality games. Krita and Godot demonstrate that programs can be completely free and be good quality. I just need something like that but for learning coding.
The problem for exercism for me is that it doesn't feel as begginer friendly because after hello world it asks you to do something wild like make a calculator that can tell what year to be a leap year or make a clock for grannys pie bs
dk if im just stupid but im trying to learn C# for game development and im using Exercism but im trying to do one of the courses and it doesnt teach you anything it just throws you in and expects you to complete a piece of code that I have zero knowledge on
I'm in the same scenario, I started one of these boot camps and they act like I already know the subject matter. They do not explain anything very well and I feel very dumb to be honest. Are you then downloaded an app called mimo that helped with python. The only problem I run to is my boot camp is trying to teach me C# and I need it in order to complete it.
I really appreciate this. It is very helpful. What’s holding me back is that AI plug ins can do all this and will only get exponentially better. It can already build websites in less than an hour. Programming ,Datascience and Analysis is bread and butter for AI within 3 years in my humble opinion; why have more headaches that might be wasted ?? Employers are bound to cut costs if they can . It’s in their DNA to cut out high IT costs.
WAT 4 or WAT 5? I took this class at U of IL in 1975 and upon getting my “C” grade swore I would NEVER touch another computer ever again? Jess! Was I wrong.
Hey man @techgumbo, can kids aged 10 and 13 learn coding at this level or do they need to start with something more basic. If so what would that be. Thank you.
I say just get into it. Even at 10, one can start to learn and in fact, iirc, Toby Fox made his Halloweeen Hack Mod when he was like 14 or 15. It's never too early to learn. I'm 32 and ready to learn now, but I wished I learned much earlier. If it's of interest, dive in!
I know you might never see this. But if you do I would like to ask of something you could do this is my problem. My pc is running so slow even when it boots up it takes almost 10 minutes, and waiting for it to do anything takes forever and I can't fix it while having the PC open so if you could help me with this or really anyone here. I would appreciate even a link to a video that I can watch to fix it or even a step by step as a reply I would like to see if I can fix it before getting a new one or hiring someone to fix it.
while I dont think coding or learning software langauge or syntax is hard, or overly easy I Definitely think I have the aptitude for it. Can you tell me the most popular & lucrative disciplines of coding ? Meaning I love UI/UX Design, its what made steve jobs & Apple the great company they are. However when I'm scrolling job boards and see coding opportunities its usually or more commonly some other form of Software Development, I hardly see ui/ux request the few times i looked, I thought coding took years to learn the idea that it can be learned in weeks is enamoring to me please explain
