Honestly my biggest problem with Game and Expansion packs (*especially* those that come with new worlds) boils down to: If you can't fully build and furnish a home with *just the GP/EP*, why is it more than a Stuff Pack. Unless you're bringing something *huge* that moves gameplay *forward*, why? The reason I don't put this pack, in particular, in the category of "This didn't come with a new world, it doesn't need a fully furnished house worth of objects" is it's *literally* about renovating a house but... doesn't have all of the essentials for a house. Do you get them in base game? Yes, you do, but like? Why wouldn't you have a fridge in a full kitchen set? Why wouldn't you have *wallpapers and flooring* in a pack about *home renovation*??? Yes, I agree with you. With laundry day I can use everything in that pack to create a laundry room and tiny living has a lot of stuff to furnish a house. So with game packs and expansions I expect way more.
They are on a limited budget, although I’m not sure who decides on the budget. But, for example, to give us a fridge as well or more wallpapers and some flooring they would have to get rid of something else from the pack that would cost about the same so they don’t go over budget. Also, I think the reason this a game pack and not a stuff pack is because it comes with quite a bit more furniture than the average stuff pack and it has a brand new interactive career. Also, we got two new counter sets and two (I believe) new couches that have 8 pieces per couch. I’m just stating my opinion, not trying to disregard yours at all. Hope you have a great day :)
For a pack called Dream Home Decorator, inspired by all those diy shows, you would think they would have have a few outdoor items (not the focus like she says but!)
Like some really cool patio/fire pit type of things. Or even some more simple landscaping stuff, rocks, fences, small flowers and bushes, out door lighting,e.c.t. they can be very important parts of hgtv/reno type shows. Curb appeal people!
@@BlueRaven73 my guess is because they already have a pack called “cool patio” or sumn. Another guess is EA being EA, limiting the amount of stuffs the developers put in the game. 🤷♀️
this pack is making me realize that so many houses in this game are too big!! i redid one of the modern houses in windenberg and if it would let me i would have shrunk the damn place
I’m just glad this pack fits with tiny living (one of my favorite packs) and is useful in discover university. Already fixed the dorms in one of my saves for my teen that’s about to age up
You know what's scary? The Sims 4 is getting as, if not more, glitchier than Sims 3. You know what EA did? Nearly nothing and moved on to the next sequel. I have a feeling they'll abandon Sims 4 at the same state.
to be fair, sims 3 got a lot of nice bug fix mods and other things -- and even if they do leave sims 4 to rot, it will be fixed by modders eventually lmfao
That's exactly the plan. They did it with sims 2 (I mean, you can't even have a sim die without risking your whole neighborhood), sims 3 runs terribly with dlcs and sims 4 is borderline unplayable. AND THEY STILL WANT TO GO ON FOR ANOTHER 5 YEARS. Go figure. EA and their messy spaghetti code.
I couldn't play the sims 4 anymore because it was super glitchy and I only had two expansion packs. I got the sims 3 with 3 expansion packs and I was surprised that my laptop could run it. So I don't know what's going on with sims 4 😒
@@E.M.99. i imagine sims 4 is worse for bugs and glitches, because it's for one, made on top of online system and coding that to my knowledge has still not been removed, secondly the packs are very much separated from each other and i imagine a few bugs are actually caused by them conflicting (go figure), and lastly... EA. Just... EA. I'm too used to playing their games, and modding is just what I need to do for the game to run lmfao sims 3 is very cohesive, all things considered. in fact, despite it being a bit of a hot mess, it'll probably be the last sims game where there was almost too much content, and where EA actually let the developers enjoy the game without being a whiny bitch about what would sell lol
@@E.M.99. Sims 3's problema was that it was a 32bit game, mostly. Sims 4's problem is that the dev team has to follow EA strict schedule and don't test or get things fully developed before its time to release.
My problem with this pack is that its basically a stuff pack. There's no reason that this tiny amount of gameplay should be considered a game pack with what we've gotten in the past, and I dont understand how so many people keep eating it up.
This pack is glitchy too!!! I made a room for the itos and used everything they told me and they were like we hate it and it’s because i didn’t reveal it to the right person? Idk but they didn’t even pay me!
When the first trailer dropped I was so down for pre ordering. IM BEYOND THANKFUL there was no pre-order option as watching all these videos are telling me it's not worth the money for me. Dream decorator and just one poxy wallpaper? It's daylight robbery and sickening. How are they not ashamed? Are we to blame EA here or the Sims 4 team? I'm literally disturbed and getting to a point of throwing the Sims 4 out of the window and in the BIN BITCH. I AM OUTRAGED!!!!!!!
Probably not the SimGurus' fault they have to deliver "shipable" (so, not bug free) content on tight deadlines, most likely all while the whole team is understaffed and overworked. But their higher-ups get away with this kind of "leadership" bc they still make a profit from gullible players, again and again. If people would stop buying the packs on release despite knowing about major bugs, things *might* improve and "shipable" would no longer mean "barely playable" perhaps .. 🤔
Eh, I think it’s still worth it... look at the furnitures this pack gave us. Sure, no new shower or toilet or wallpaper, but we already have a lot of those...? They introduced both sectional sofas and separate stove tops at the same time. They also add some new bunk beds. So... really, bugs aside, it’s still worth it. 🤷♀️
When they were never your style in the first place it sucks. I have to cc all of my cottage core/punk cloths. Cause while a good amount are actually cute. The 2000's do have some really bad ideas we did not need to repeat.
I’m actually relieved we didn’t get yet another toilet or bar. We definitely have more than enough of them.. 😂 Definitely agree on the wallpaper though, it’s sad really.
it just goes to show you literally cannot please everyone. if they added a toilet and bar, the ones who don't want another will be like, "why did you spend your time on ANOTHER toilet when you cold have spent your time on new things!?" it's a loss for someone no matter what, and i think the sims players need to realize that what they want isn't what everyone wants.
@@Jamjamsart Yeah same. The people on Jesse's comment section are _outraged_ with one wallpaper, but I honestly don't mind it at all. We have far too much wallpaper and flooring already in my opinion, so it's better to have one rather than many with ugly designs. I'd rather use plain wallpapers for most of my builds anyways.
@@Jamjamsart Maybe because Kayak's content focused more on The Sims itself, not the ups and downs of the packs, whereas Jesse throws shade on even her thumbnails. Now, I'm not saying that EA doesn't deserve it, but people literally acted like it's the end of the world because a pack only has one wallpaper when it should be a minor inconvenience at most.
I’m really surprised there is no cool tile floors/Dećor idk if I’m the only one but recently tile back splashes (I think that’s what they’re called) have been pretty trendy in kitchens and stuff. Also I hate all the base game tile floors so💀
I've always thought it silly when people comment "Hey hens saved my life" or whatever but the smile that involuntarily crept up on my face when you said it... I get it now guys I get it
One counter isn't 5 pieces, it's 10! All of the counters are thinner when in front of walls, so all of the pieces need 2 separate meshes with textures to match
They've reused the basegame meshes for kitchen counters multiple times (e.g. vampire & magic realm counters) .. let's not make more if it than it is, the new ones do look nice, but it's not THAT hard to adjust meshes to that little variation.
I would love for the Sims team to stop putting out new packs, focus on bug fixes and updating color swatches for pre-existing assets. Keep fixing the Sims 4 while they work on the Sims 5. And I think they should turn some of the early stuff packs into kits. You know the ones.
unfortunately, fixing bugs won’t make money, but convincing gullible players to buy terrible pack after terrible pack does. the formula works for them and they’ll milk it for as long as they can, then they’ll apply the same formula to sims 5
would it be a good idea for the sims to make, like this, a build mode based pack, but instead, a create a sim based pack, inspired by makeover tv shows, we would get instead a lot of cas items, with a few "hangers" maybe a new commericial lot you can buy and assign it as your "makeover studio" or smth, then you can bring clients and fix their outfits. Since now we have this to fix all the builds we dont like, we could have that to fix all the crazy townies' outfits. Personally i think it would be a very good and logic idea since we have this. It's literally the same concept as the "Dream home decorator" pack, but reversed and it would be maybe called "Stylish fashion makeover" or smth lol. Would be cool for people who prefer Create a Sim more than Build & Buy. ALSO we could use the likes and dislikes for the favorite color, and a NEW favorite Clothing style ! Maybe even favorite Hair colors etc...
You can do pretty much this in higher levels of the stylist/trendsetter career already, I doubt they're going to make a whole pack around an existing base game career.
I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the stove/oven not able to be on the same counter and it’s really a non issue for me? Like the whole point is that you can separate the two, which is realistic. Plus you can put them together using moveobjects. Idk I just think it’s odd that so many people have been upsetted by that

I think we have become so accustomed to not a lot that when we get a tiny bit more we see it as amazing when actually EA haven’t been scraping the bare minimum for what they expect their fans to pay.
"I'm getting into modern builds lately" I think in the honour of pride month Plumbella should come out the closet as a modern builder. We love you for who you are not what you build. 🌈🌆 👍
i am going to have to disagree with you on the stove thing, if we were able to have the oven and stove top on the same counter wouldn't that be just a regular stove? i'm also kind of glad we didn't get a new toilet as we already have enough of those lol. great video though xx
I think the reason about the separate oven and stove thing not working unless move objects is on is because apparently you can prep food on the counter with the stove top now.. (if that makes sense)
I honestly don't get the complaints about this pack (excluding the obvious things like bugs). like... there are SO many build and buy objects, the cas is pretty cute too especially considering it isn't a pack that focuses on cas. like if the objects aren't your style then just don't buy it I guess but im genuinely impressed with how much stuff we were given with this pack.
This is seriously not acceptable as a game pack. There is only one new gameplay mechanic and it is nothing serious: talk to clients to get a list of wants, then build mode and you do the job. They did not have much work do do, they just had to enable build mode outside of your playable property. And renovation is a thing you can do yourself in the base game without any pack. And where I am it is the price of a whole new game (30 bucks). For comparison I only have the game pack jungle adventure. What does it give? A vacation world to explore (at least once or twice), two new aspirations, two new skills, maybe a new trait (not sure abt this one). In build mode? Tree kinds of different exterior walls, two interior walls, at least four kinds of new floors, new beds, a new kitchen counter, a new fridge, a new stove, new tables, new couch, new shower, two new sinks, even more clutter and furniture, two new rugs, new pool trims and styles, a new fountain, a new bar, several kind of new plants, a lot of new wall decorations and other outdoor crazy decoration items. Once the exploration of the vacation world was done I was able to make houses in a new style, I have much more things to build with in general, and I was able to do different kind of constructions (temples, archeological sites, a house where the sims discovered some ancient civilisation remnants in their back yard, a house that was constructed on an abandoned temple because the sims living there were inconsiderate assholes who could not care less about archeology...). What can you do with this new pack? A new career that will be rapidly become boring, even if you love building, and you can now build with some furtinures in one new main style and that's it. Also you know what's fucked up? The more packs you have, the more fun it will be because it is not a self sufficient pack. If you have more worlds available to you you will have a variety of house types to renovate, if you have a lot of packs you will also have a lot of different types of furniture to build with. If you only have the base game and you buy this pack you are basically fucked. Annnnnd the snaping couchs and modulable furniture should have been a base game feature. I would maybe have considered buying it if it was a stuff pack. It is a fucking scam.
So if you're using bb.moveobjects, you take the double cabinet and the oven snapped into the counter and you can place it in the cabinet and it makes more sense with the separate stove top :)
My theory about the tent is that it's a hint to the next expansion pack, connect to nature was a clue and it displays a farm....imagine a farm pack of sorts?
Some of these items feel like EA are playing with my heart strings. Sectional stuff, swatches, textures, oh my! Then we get the built in cooker/hob, looks great but bb. to place 2 pieces on the same counter, the wardrobes remind me of a CC set I use with separated clothes/shoes so you can fill them as you see fit. I like them and am sure I'll have loads of fun configuring them but if feels like they didn't fully think it thru with the limitations on placement
I'm curious if the seperate ovens works when lifted. It's pretty common (at least here in the US) to have a seperate oven up at waist or chest height. I don't expect it to but that would be super cool.
This is way bigger than a stuff pack and the career has more details than the careers that came with Moschino stuff and Paranormal stuff. The careers with those stuff packs are freelance careers which we already have in base game they just catered them to photography and paranormal stuff.
@@AidanBagnall it would have been great if it came with a new world as well but since they have a budget I think some things would have been cut unfortunately.
Agreed, this seems like a re-skin of the paranormal pack - just with more BB items. But I personally don't feel that more BB items = a game pack. A game pack should be something universal or monumental like a new world, or seasons, or pets.
I actually furnished the entirety of the Stonestreet Apartment 3 with all the stuff from the pack :) Granted I had to add in clutter from my CC and new flooring🙄🙄 I wished there was floors and more wallpapers that came with this pack, but I’m actually not mad at all about the wallpaper we got. I feel like it has so many different swatches that are all pretty different from each other that it can be used multiple times in one house or apartment and give a different feel for each swatch. Edit: Also I think this pack would probably be better to fully furnish an apartment or flat in Sam Myushuno or Evergreen 👍🏽💃🏾
sorry but for me (an interior design freak) it is VITAL to have loads of new options for walls and floors! it is STUPID they don’t give us those with the pack! personally, I don’t like this one like at all!!! it is so empty. also I don’t like that we have just one freaking style with the new objects, is so LAZY i can’t! they should’ve at least added like 3 or 4… like boho, loft, contemporary and scandi or something… 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 don’t get me wrong I loved Plumbella’s video (and all of them) but my estimation of this pack is way lower than Jessie’s. she is just being too kind, I guess we are learning not to expect much from the sims team(
If they did this much furniture for four different styles in one pack it would cost way more than $20. They also have a budget so for them to add more walls or floors they would have had to take out other stuff from the pack. It’s not necessarily just them being lazy.
@@V3SP3R_ Then they should do more collabs with modders/CC creators to add more content to the game because the fans somehow manage to make *tons* of both for free out of the kindness of their own hearts.
@@Gingeries17 I completely agree that they should collaborate with more cc creators. I think they are getting better though at taking inspiration from cc to understand that kind of furniture that more people like.
I'm pretty sure at this point their goal is to do each pack as a new culture/location. This was Scandinavian (so basically Ikea). There is a Japanese, Moroccan, Island, etc with others. I even think eco lifestyle sways towards Iceland/Greenland vibes with the grass roofs and eco things.
I felt the same way about the kid’s tent thing but perhaps it’s one of their Easter eggs for what the next pack might be cause it just felt like a random addition or do they not do that anymore?
So, this COULD have been a full game pack. A whole career of being an interior decorator - say another sim gives you a budget and you redo a room in thier house or something. Should include a slider system like CAS does for wallpapers and objects so you can actually colour match. I also wish that you didnt have to BB.move objects for some things. Like counters, there are snap points but i wish you could move them off grid like you can other objects so that you can place your clutter how you want and layer up clutter without finiking about quite so much.
Re: upper cabinet pieces... yeah. What I'd really like to see is a skinnier end piece, because those would fit so well into various builds I've done or tried to do, but the endcap pieces on most sets are huge, and often look like copy-pastes of a standard cabinet piece. Something more like the counter endcap's width would be nice. While we're at it, making the hitbox for the counter endcap smaller would also be nice, but I'm going to guess the hitbox is that big because the game needs it for sims to be able to animate making food on that piece of counter. Not giving it much of an excuse there because I kinda hate how big the game wants to make animation-spaces on usable objects ("View"-able potted plants, I'm looking at you), and I dislike using moveobjects to get around that because it's a glitchy cheat, sooo... meh, the tangenting is real today. Skinny wall cabinet endcaps plz, EA.

I'm sure they'll have a kit called "outdoor stuff" that's exactly one new table and some chairs. $5usd pls
@@BlueRaven73 my guess is because they already have a pack called “cool patio” or sumn. Another guess is EA being EA, limiting the amount of stuffs the developers put in the game. 🤷♀️

They don’t do it irl either sadly. Just found out while redoing my own kitchen.
“Neither can live while the other survives.”

@@shouldbewritig I have separate stove top and oven on the same counter in my irl kitchen

@@eimearmcdnagh1853 Exactly like that.
And the EA heads think of nothing but profit.
this pack is making me realize that so many houses in this game are too big!! i redid one of the modern houses in windenberg and if it would let me i would have shrunk the damn place
Right??? I just redid one of the mansions in Del Sol Valley... like how am I supposed to fill that with furniture?
its a game made in the united stated, what did you expect?
I love when Plumbella builds because she's just "getting into modern builds" but she never gets there
I’m just glad this pack fits with tiny living (one of my favorite packs) and is useful in discover university.
EA. Just... EA. I'm too used to playing their games, and modding is just what I need to do for the game to run lmfao
sims 3 is very cohesive, all things considered. in fact, despite it being a bit of a hot mess, it'll probably be the last sims game where there was almost too much content, and where EA actually let the developers enjoy the game without being a whiny bitch about what would sell lol
@@E.M.99. Sims 3's problema was that it was a 32bit game, mostly. Sims 4's problem is that the dev team has to follow EA strict schedule and don't test or get things fully developed before its time to release.
I was GAGGED when she made the walpaper in like a minute
My problem with this pack is that its basically a stuff pack. There's no reason that this tiny amount of gameplay should be considered a game pack with what we've gotten in the past, and I dont understand how so many people keep eating it up.
This pack is glitchy too!!! I made a room for the itos and used everything they told me and they were like we hate it and it’s because i didn’t reveal it to the right person? Idk but they didn’t even pay me!
Happend to me too yesterday..... I was like: OMG I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT... They were angry and gave me $0...
Become a pirate babes its v easy.
Only idiots pre order
EA is where to place your rage. They just want profit on schedule, performance, quality, and employee health be damned.
Who cares if ur outfits are the same lol they're always cute as helllll
When they were never your style in the first place it sucks. I have to cc all of my cottage core/punk cloths. Cause while a good amount are actually cute. The 2000's do have some really bad ideas we did not need to repeat.
@@shannonhensley2942 I think Sophie is talking about Plumbella's outfit lol
I’m actually relieved we didn’t get yet another toilet or bar. We definitely have more than enough of them.. 😂 Definitely agree on the wallpaper though, it’s sad really.
it just goes to show you literally cannot please everyone. if they added a toilet and bar, the ones who don't want another will be like, "why did you spend your time on ANOTHER toilet when you cold have spent your time on new things!?" it's a loss for someone no matter what, and i think the sims players need to realize that what they want isn't what everyone wants.
and personally, im ok with only 1 wallpaper, we have a lot already. so it goes for everything, really.
@@stelladespire6068 i've noticed that her comments are very negative when it comes to the Sims as upposed to say Kayla's comments.
Also I hate all the base game tile floors so💀
Yeah I wish they had more walls that function as backsplashes in kitchens. Its the common thing here in Aus so its weird not to have them ahah.

You sir/ma'am/fella should work for EA.
yes! I love this idea, and then they could include fun and versatile basics that would make the preexisting clothes useable. And have cute shoes
Idk I just think it’s odd that so many people have been upsetted by that
Simmers: I WANT TO SEPARATE THE STOVETOP AND OVEN!
Also Simmers: NEVERMIND I WANT TO KEEP THEM TOGETHER! YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!

It's a perfectly fine countertop surface so it's kinda stupid we can't put a stove top. I definitely see where you're coming from tho!
For real!!!
It's a reguar stove but it's built in. Looks way better and is more realistic. At least it's always like this where I'm from.
Thank you for this comment. I thought I was the only one.
🥰🥰 I NEED more walls and floors!!!
The Kim kardashian voiceover on the wallpaper clip 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I Love the taller wall heights btw! lol Unless I'm doing craftsman, Cape Cod, etc.
Recently I’ve realized that I always hate most of the content the sims 4 puts out, yet I give them all my money 💀

If you place the oven first you can then put the hob on top and it works

I don't expect it to but that would be super cool.
bro this pack does not constitute a whole game pack imo, a career and some build items is just .. a stuff pack
I’m disappointed there wasn’t a really
Cool world included, even a small one.
This is way bigger than a stuff pack and the career has more details than the careers that came with Moschino stuff and Paranormal stuff. The careers with those stuff packs are freelance careers which we already have in base game they just catered them to photography and paranormal stuff.
@@SimStylist true. I’m not unhappy with the amount of stuff. I just always want a new world. Even a small one with few lots, like with Vampires.
@@AidanBagnall it would have been great if it came with a new world as well but since they have a budget I think some things would have been cut unfortunately.
Agreed, this seems like a re-skin of the paranormal pack - just with more BB items. But I personally don't feel that more BB items = a game pack. A game pack should be something universal or monumental like a new world, or seasons, or pets.
you can move the oven first and then put the stove on it and not have it separate :3
This amount of videos make my life easier
Love you!!! You’re amazing and inspiring!!! ❤️
I really do like the build objects, so I’ll probably buy this pack later on when it’s half off. Hopefully the career will be far less buggy.
Feel like we needed windows in this pack cause they can really change the inside too.

sorry but for me (an interior design freak) it is VITAL to have loads of new options for walls and floors! it is STUPID they don’t give us those with the pack! personally, I don’t like this one like at all!!! it is so empty.
also I don’t like that we have just one freaking style with the new objects, is so LAZY i can’t! they should’ve at least added like 3 or 4… like boho, loft, contemporary and scandi or something…

don’t get me wrong I loved Plumbella’s video (and all of them) but my estimation of this pack is way lower than Jessie’s.
she is just being too kind, I guess we are learning not to expect much from the sims team(
If they did this much furniture for four different styles in one pack it would cost way more than $20.

I wish sims would make a stylist pack just full of clothes and hairs for all sims
"when you wait half an hour for a bus and then two come at the same time" lol that got me
The farm animals on the play tent could be a hint to Sims 4 Get to Farm 🤭🥸
you can put the stove above the oven and they both work
So, this COULD have been a full game pack. A whole career of being an interior decorator - say another sim gives you a budget and you redo a room in thier house or something. Should include a slider system like CAS does for wallpapers and objects so you can actually colour match.
I also wish that you didnt have to BB.move objects for some things. Like counters, there are snap points but i wish you could move them off grid like you can other objects so that you can place your clutter how you want and layer up clutter without finiking about quite so much.
try pressing F5 for more detailed object placement for things that are off-balance or too high up babes x
Can you make a build from life is strange???? The atmosphere is so good
Re: upper cabinet pieces...
