Excellent video I appreciate the content!
So it’s funny that you did this video because invoicing is something that has a technician I have struggled with. But my bookkeeper says that I must do online invoices because it helps her out but for me I prefer paper, but I don’t prefer to do paper and have to upload it to QuickBooks so by default I use my QuickBooks and I hate it. Yes it’s convenient at times but I enjoy keeping a paper trail of the jobs I do, so what is your advice? Here is the bookkeeper wrong I kind of think she is.

Plenty of websites have these and dozens of other options to choose from. Its expensive especially with 5-10 other papers you need to have around. Alot cheaper to go with online once business gets up and running. Service titan, housecallpro, fieldedge are among some I've used with employers.

@@TaddyDigest I'd hear highly of roopairs and had a demo with the software, liked it alot. Its not bad price either, especially for a small crew.
Fieldedge is the most expensive to my knowledge.

Do you require your invoices to always be signed? FreshBooks and Quickbooks doesn’t have an easy on the job-site signature option and there isn’t much information on if invoices are signed on google, etc. It seems like a signature isn’t a huge deal but we felt like it may be? We are to the point of doing the old fashion way of things and using paper.

      Good Question
Yes we do want our invoices signed and 75% of the invoices get signed before the ordering of equipment/ materials for the project.
Especially if the ticket price is substantial meaning thousands of dollars. Old Fashioned has always worked well for us.
You risk getting your customer base info stolen when working with a online invoice company. I just do not like that.

You still doing things the old fashioned way? I’m using quickbooks in a weird way but it’s giving me somewhat of a paper trail. I just find paper faster especially when you got no internet in a certain area😅. Where do you get your invoices?

So what do you do when you change out a condenser motor that takes you an hour tops but you charge for 4 hours? How do you show that on an invoice?
I'm starting a new company in the next few weeks and this question keeps bugging me. I am probably just going to charge 4 hours for motor change-outs. But that could take me 30 minutes or an hour to do it
So now what happens when you hand the customer their receipt and on it it shows for 4 hours of work under labor but they only seen you there for an hour maybe two?

      @@TaddyDigest thanks man.
I'm considering doing a flat rate receipt for my customers. That will leave any confusion out for them. I look forward to your next video
