Can someone please explain to me how in Georgia where the candidate neither candidate got 50% has to have a runoff and yet in Nevada neither candidate reached 50% and there's no runoff for them could someone please explain that to me why there's not a runoff there
It's because of their state constitution. To be elected in Georgia you must have a majority vote like in the French Electoral System. If memory serves me only Alaska and Georgia has this system in place is the United States. Although in Alaska a second vote/runoff election is not needed because of Ranked Choice.
