*Shiyo! Absolutley phenomenal video. This is a technique that I have yet to learn. You present this in a calm, clear, concise and easy to understand way for all people. Sgi Chris🙏🦅*
the qull wrap that is done on rawhide on the feathers. Is that 1/4" or 1/8" rawhide lacing or deer lacing ? I'd like to order the correct thing. I'm going to try wrapping spine &
Hello, you would use rawhide and you can use either size. The pipebag bottom is all one piece of rawhide with the slats of 1/8" cut to the top but not all the way. If you quill on deerskin lace it will come out round. Thanks for watching.
@@cherylbfrey5936 We usually have brain tanned deer hides. Currently we are out of stock, but please check back soon! Unfortunately we do not carry Moose hides on a regular basis but it is possible we could get one in. Thank you! wanderingbull.com/shop/craft-supplies/leather/braintanned-deer-hides/
Hi where do you get the split ash and the rawhide strips that you are using? I looked on the website and didn't find them. Also do you soak the rawhide medicine wheel in water to make it lay flat?
Thanks for watching Bev! We do sell rawhide on our website see here at: wanderingbull.com/shop/craft-supplies/leather/rawhide-lacing/. Unfortunately, we do not sell ash splints, but Chris harvested these from an Ash tree himself. If your medicine wheel is not flat, you will want to soak it and lay it flat with something on top until it is dry. Once it is dry you can wrap it with the quills.
Thank you for watching Sandra. While often times the quills are harvested from the animal after is is dead, they can also be taken by throwing a blanket over the porcupine and when the porcupine crawls out from the blanket the quills are stuck to the fabric.

On the painted eagle feather, how is the rawhide secured to the feather?
Wrapping both the feather and rawhide with imitation sinew in 3-4 spots should hold it. Thanks for watching!

Do you have to be native to purchase supplies from your store?

@@thewanderingbull9843 thank you so much for helping me
Do you have to kill the animal to get the quills.
Thank you for watching Sandra. While often times the quills are harvested from the animal after is is dead, they can also be taken by throwing a blanket over the porcupine and when the porcupine crawls out from the blanket the quills are stuck to the fabric.
